  1. Interesting news. They do have a look of desperation in the Torneau store. This line is what I found amusing.. "The industry's bright spot is China, where sales fell only 1.1 percent thanks to a comparatively strong economy.bn/dpa/AFP" They fail to mention the sales of reps, which must be doing even better.
  2. Including straps for the Panerais, some costing about as much as the watch themselves, about $5,000.00 minimum. My wife of 24 years who left me recently points to the time I began my rep watch collecting as when I went "Beserk" and everything went bad, in her valuable opinion. While I am in deep grief over the loss, it is probably for the best, as she was a cruel, controlling wench.
  3. What's funny about this magazine though is the ads the have like the one that says "Fake Watches are for Fake People" What? Is there an ad that says fake bras are for fake [censored]? These people are so rattled by the rep watch industry, that they have lost their focus on just making good time pieces. Copyists are a part of history from the get go. After all, are we not evolved from monkeys?
  4. This was emailed to me, it includes several takes on the high quality our reps really are and how they frustrate the gen makers. It is a good read for all. http://journal.hautehorlogerie.org/spip.php?page=newsletter-journal-en-html&id_edition=378
  5. It has been ten years since I returned to Honolulu after moving to Vegas. It was a mixed feeling visit. I was there for my younger brothers wedding which was at Queen Emmas Summer Palace. The home we lived in was a block away but burned down 38 years ago. The photo below is Koko Head, where we moved to/ I was really sad to see Waikiki. it is an almost preverted version of old Hawaii in the earsly 1960's. It was still a great visit, and I am leaving tomorrow.
  6. This is at midnight looking out at the Pacific, with my DSN 341. I cannot tell you how this version, fantasy it might be. is such a fantastic, collosal watch, that anything else just does not matter. Here is a Japanese couple getting married, and taking their wedding photos in the warm Hawaiian sun.
  7. Back in Hawaii today. Howzit Lanikai! They sure upgraded Waikiki Here is my DSN 203a with Diamond Head. This is oneof the worlds most famous volcanos or sure.
  8. Fiddy with a J Varvatos leather trim blazer for the fall weather
  9. Let me say this about that. Thanks

  10. Seems like we have always had a monday tuesday, then midweek, then friday through weekend and whoever starts it first, theirs is the post used, and it is up to others to check to make sure another WC is not up already for that time slot. Merging the duplicate second into the first when it happens is the sensible thing.
  11. Thats what she said. As I recall though, she had a different name for it
  12. Hell of a watch mate. Panerai makes em like no other.
  13. The reps look actually pretty good although they are 3 times the price we usually pay for decent reps. Check the baht rate conversion. The kids on the home page is a shameless use of children to sell reps. The connection or suggestion that buying from them benefits children, I find offensive. It is basically a slick con site. The watches are made in China not Thailand.
  14. Yet another variation. This one has 27mm lugs rather than the 24. Interesting how fast and how varied these behemoth watches are being made.
  15. I thought Richemont had already bought out Panerai? My 6497's usually are the same as the rest of you guys, 36 to 48 hours.
