i was able to obtain a crownguard assembly for an 029B... the invoice from panerai shows it at $180.... comes in 3 blister packs...

Better give me the combo... Stanley is kinda shady! Just kidding... I can just imagine him taking a week to figure how to it equitably! also... I thought about you this past weekend when the wife and I stopped by Terrible's in Stateline on the way back from Vegas... we were looking at the Baja 1000 truck they have sitting in there and she asked me about it... after explaining it was for racing offroad she asked about the screen on the passenger side dashboard... i explained it was for navigation/GPS... she looked at it and then looked at me and asked why they would need it since there were no roads.... gotta love women...

i don't see his section in the supporter section anymore

Then it was you i was going against! I went to go higher and then at the last minute a third guy came in... I got the unpackaged one though...

wow.... for all those who have not yet had the opportunity to own a ziggified piece like i have the opportunity to.... well, i feel badly that you may not have that opportunity... I think it is important for others to realize that we have very limited but valuable resources in this hobby... we should cherish them and respect the knowledge and abilities they have... hopefully i stay out of the spam group! here's one of mine.... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=72621

well... i can say with a 95% certainty that the DSN will be the better of the two... chinkiechunkie bought a 112 this past weekend at an ad and he held a 104.... we had lunch the next day and he said there is a lot off on the ultimate... so much so that i will be selling my ultimate... now.. your ultimate's date font looks significantly better than mine... i could not replicate that datefont look from any angle... it was the same with an ultimate 092 that i had... the date font just was not crisp enough on both..
-
well.... i am taking one for the team and I have an "ultimate" 104 in hand from trusty and a DSN 104 in transit...

Ok... it's time for another SoCal family reunion.... and this time we're having it on a Sunday for all those who said they couldn't make it on Saturdays.... The location will be Carlsbad.... home of the famous (or is it infamous?) CarlsbadRolex aka CBR aka Try and Swipe My Hellas and You'll Get a Cap in That Ass! The actual location in Carlsbad will be confirmed as we may have a private room in an establishment that serves chinkiechunkie's favorite beverage.... BEER... but more on that as it develops... So... please post here if you're coming.... for all those in SoCal that haven't made a GTG, you really need to come to one... when we say family, we mean it... shoot, i've seen chinkiechunkie on 4 different occasions in the last week.... chinkiechunkie and carlsbadrolex have already confirmed.... i expect to see czarczar and jaykeem come out too... The Armada will be rolling out and making a stop by the Outlets in Carlsbad to drop off Mrs. LOS so anyone who wants to roll with us and drop their missus off too is welcome... Any of those members in SF.... you should man up LOS style and make it a roadtrip!

LegendofSpeed replied to llsteve80's topic in General Discussion
I have something coming here from France... and in reading about their postal system there... i am only giving myself a 50/50 chance of getting it... -
Mine was through an inside source at Richemont... one time deal unfortunately.... got the invoice and everything.... total was $200.... including fedex overnight....

it is my friend, it is... it's not all the way done yet.... one of the great things about it is that i opened the package with my wife right there... she was happy for me because she knows how much it meant to get this close to the finish line... then she proceeded to follow me to the bathroom for the lume check.... and then asked when her 050 is going.... yikes!

Just got this back from The Zigmeister in yesterday's mail... The watch is not a finished project yet... there was an issue with the alignment on the datewheel so lello is advance exchanging one for me and I will have to get it installed locally.... i also have the gen crown guard for this watch that is still in the blister packs from Panerai to be installed... This watch was my grail and was purchased a few months ago on RWG... i sent it, along with a watchman cyclops (chieftang wasn't able to get his cyclops project done in time for it to be included), a gen SS crown, and the lello datewheel... it was also lumed while with The Zigmeister... This has been the culmination of a year of working on this... the project hit a severe detour when my wife accidentally tossed my container containing the parts for the project... in the end it was my fault and now all parts are safeguarded... lesson learned... Back in September of last year, I was done with this hobby... I was getting out and beginning to sell off... I sold a Rolex box I had to chinkiechunkie, who happened to live 3 minutes away from me.... I started talking to him and he showed me his Ziggified 063... I had given up on my project and ever having it done.... when I saw that watch, I said to myself that I must complete it... and so I did... I got myself more involved again in the hobby again and developing my knowledge of Panerai, my favorite brand.... Now, 7 months later, I have a almost completed Ziggified 2893-2 powered 063 in my hand and I'm on staff on one of the boards.... I love all the communities and the preople it attracts... for the most part that is... Well, enough about me... here's the watch...

i've seen enough in the past couple of weeks to stop me from completing my WU payment 3 times.... I feel very bad for UJ... I would hate to be in his position... I do know that DSN does make things right in the end.... just would think it would be more profitable to do it right from the start...

contact hooligan on rwi... he was going to take one out of a watch of his (closed-back PAM) and swap it with an undecorated 6497
-
very nice.... thanks for the spreadsheet... definitely one to keep!
-
I don't think it is thick enough... The 6497 is 4.5mm thick.... and the 7750 is 7.9mm thick.... 3.4mm of difference is quite a lot IMO...
