  1. Looking good on the project. I didn't know you could just "swap parts out". Keep us posted. Paco
  2. Hey guys! Just wondering how good or bad is the rose gold found on Reps. Is there any way to know this besides past experience?. For reference i'm contemplating the AR500 with "rose gold" bezel. I handled the watch at Nordstroms recently and liked it very much. However i'm a little concerned with the "rose gold" bezel on the Rep. I'm guessin they flake or that they don't take knocks and dings quite as well. Here's a link to the watch itself. http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41_211&products_id=6922 Thanks Paco
  3. What are the differences between the V1 and V2? Thanks i'm considering it as my second purchase. Paco
  4. Hey merry men! Just wanted to put this out there: WHY DO WE SPEND OUR MONEY ON REPS? Obviously i'll start: For me, i have always had a hard time justifying the prices that these big companies charge for watches. I hava wanted to get a nice proper watch for a couple of years, but everytime i try one on, as nice as the watch is can't really find where al the $$$$ is going. My wife says "your buying a brand name on a bracelet", a friend of mine who's in marketing told me that most expensive watches are basically "prestige for sale". So i recently ordered my first rep and feel like i'm giving these big conglomerates the finger. I'm telling them "screw you and your greed power hungry schemes". There's also a lack of fresh, innovative, nice designs from more budget oriented brands, right now there is only one "affordable" nice that i like, but it basically is Bulova's homage to the Royal Oak. I wish that start up or affordable brands would come up with nice designs. I'm attaching a link to the Bulova i mentioned: http://www.zappos.com/bulova-mens-marine-star-98b106 So why do you buy them? Thanks for sharing Paco
  5. You are assuming things, first off our friend says that the watch is beautiful and has great build quality, second off he never says that he paid too much. His problem is that he THOUGHT he was going to get an automatic replica and he got a quartz. That's his main problem. Suppose he spend 150 bucks for it. Was he scammed? The problem is the lack of previous research and the shitty description of the watch on the shitty webpage. If anything i'm surprised of the OP's naivity regarding the purchase. How much did you pay Bruxon???
  6. Thanks for the reassurance TX, did you get your from Andrew as well? They all probably come from the same factory don't they?. Thanks! PAco
  7. Really....i asked Andrew from "trusty watch guy" and he said that there was no need to weld them. Hmmm should i ask for my money back?
  8. I just saw their prices on Amazon, from 200 to 300 seems to get you a brand new one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=a9_sc_1?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amont+blanc+pen&keywords=mont+blanc+pen&ie=UTF8&qid=1296659760 That's not so bad!
  9. How much is a regular Montblanc pen? Why would you want a fake one?
  10. Thanks for the reply!I ordered one from trustytime.I'll ask them about the issue with the crown. Thanks! Paco
  11. Hello!!! Well i didn't get the Pasha, cuz my wife (it's a gift from her) likes the Riviera's better. So....i know there's a review of a Riviera pinned on this same forum but alas, it's from an "apprentice" dealer. Wanted to know if anybody here has bought one? This is the one i'm getting. Anywho, another question, should i order it now or wait until the weekend when Chinese holidays are concluded? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5B0osH1REw Thanks Paco
  12. You know Maxman, for a loooooong time i thought that he had "gen" watches, and he was in way showcasing them. It was just a couple of days ago (when i discovered the Rep world) that it hit me (THOSE ARE REPS!!!!). Funny! Thanks again Paco
  13. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks man! Now for my advice.....patience?
  14. Sorry i can't be of any assistance, i actually want to know WHO'S MARY? Thanks PCX
  15. Hello! I was "youtubing" my beloved Cartier Pasha Seatimer, and coincidentally the first hit from YT is a silent showcasing of said watch. I noticed that on the "suggested" videos, there's a lot more showcases. Tried googling it but no luck, thus, my question: What the heck is this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlpCDphl4d8 Thanks Paco
  16. Welcome! One thing, did you receive the watch you purchased? If you did, then you weren't scammed. You were just misinformed. When you can, post pictures of the piece. Good luck on future purchases. Paco
  17. Thanks for the replies guys! Any recommended dealer?
  18. Hey yo! I am getting one of these soon, i'm new at the forum so i just wanted to hear if any of you guys had past experiences with Seatimers. I guess that most of the reccomended dealers will roughly have the same price, but regarding dealers i noticed that "silix" describes their Seatimer with AR coating while the others don't; and another thing, i read somewhere on the forum about a dealer that actually took pictures of the actual specimen bought prior to shipping -but for the life of me i can't remeber- can anyone help me out here?. Thanks guys! Paco
  19. Thanks for the advice guys! I love the Pasha, so simple yet so elegant. Because it's just a three hander with a screw down crown i thought it was easier to waterproof. My bad! I'll keep looking Paco
  20. Hello guys! I am Paco and this is my first post on the boards, hope i can learn a lot from the experts here. I'm starting with a question: Water resistance? As i love dive watches i am trying to find a good rep for a Cartier Pasha Seatime, but try as i might i can't find one with WR, am i at a loss here?. Thank you in advance Paco
