TBH that IWC chrono that was posted looks a lot like any other V7750 based chrono on the face of the planet. But that is because all chronos need to convey the same info. There is really not a whole lot of retail space in those small dials to make that big of a difference, I could post a ton of chrono pictures here and say that they are all clones but I don't have the energies to do that right now.

Is the newest version with the ST109 a better version? Or are they the same quality/detail wise?

Sorry to suggest a regular watch, but I think that for that money you can get a new Seiko Prospex ( Sumo ). A fine watch that will serve you for many, many years to come.

The Rolex success history is tied with their iconic Submariner. The Sub's design is easily the most recognized watch design in the planet. If you ask an everyman on the the street which watch would they pick between a Nautilus, Overseas, Royal Oak and a Submariner probably 99% would pick a Sub.

I don't know about the newest ceramic bezeled PO's. The watch has a transparent caseback and the movement is beyond wrong.

In my 10 years of WISDOM i have never met anyone that cared about watches. Most people are into smart phones, tablets, etc. I was once wearing a Casio Edifice gold label and a friend asked me if it was an Omega.
