  3. seen his other auctions? looks like hes trashing his fathers collection...
  4. I feel more and more comfortable with this board! This has been real fun to read! Fortunately, my gf is pretty cool about watches, she actually wears them too.
  5. what a movie-star! In fact the only TAG that I really like besides the "MONACO"...
  6. WOWOWOW...! You mean: these fine watches AREN'T really genuine?!
  7. Thats an awesome collection you got! I just love that U2
  8. is it actually a ladys ym? I got one for my gf some time ago - same problem. it stayed longer at my friend (a watchsmith), than on her wrist. the datewheel causes that problem. the ETA-mvmt doesn't have the correct size for the date-window. so they clued a "correct" one over it. The did not make a very good job though...
  9. For me it is my Ingy... Or maybe still the explorer that arrived today? Can't decide...
  10. I guess that one's worth a try! I always hesitated to buy one because of it's size - but you can't go wrong a lot for a 150 bucks. By the way, isn't ETA restricting their range of product? The upcoming "fake" ETAmvts could be a reaction to that.
  11. For any blasting you need to remove crystal, tubes... etc. I did it with a common old sub rep which I now call my stonemariner! http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic....ht=stonemariner
  12. My choice would be Fortis or Hamilton. Or used Tudor.
  13. Very beautiful! Boy, this makes me wanting my Inge, which is still on it's way... Thanks for sharing!
  14. I'd be in for a datewheel, too. In fact my Inge is still on it's way from Silix... Can't wait to get it! By the way, that kevlar-strap looks just fabulous!
  15. My good old Sub which I wore during my military service got less and less wristtime and it looked pretty battered. I decided to give it a new look. First, I took it into pieces, removing all gaskets, the insert and the crystal. I asked a friend to make it a pvd-sub. We sandblasted it and let it into the chemical bath. This is what came out. Unfortunately - the steel did not respond as we hoped. My friend was very surprised, that a replica would be of such a good steel-quality. Anyway, we both did not like the result. My buddy told me that he could give it a stone or titane look. He then blasted it with tiny glass-stones and this is what turned out: Wristshot I love it. So what do you think of my fantasywatch?
