pam 127 fiddy omega railmaster pam 249 cali vacheron overseas

I think high end gens aren't sins either... What does high end mean? Price? or Quality? if we say price... Ok let's think about $10k... Would I give 10k to panerai 127? no... So I have the replica 127. Would I give 10k to IWC Big Pilot? Simply yes.

sorry but the movement on the picture is an Asian eta...
-
both ways are OK for me... either keeping $7000 for gen cousteau or giving $1500 to another cheap gen. I have both reps and gens. $300 is my limit for a replica. excluding modifications. I'll never give a grand or more for a real Asian 8 days movement watch. (I mean if they ever make it) because it is replica. don't get me wrong. I love my replicas... but after all they are just replicas... Problem is this buddy (at least for me) it is not a real IWC Cousteau! I'd give $200-250 to this watch with an Asian movement. and maybe $100 for modifications. but $700 is enormous for me... It is not about money. It is about point of view. For ex. I can give $3500 to a gen panerai 111... but I'll never give $1200 to a gen panerai movement alone to fit my rep Panerai.

1. Put a protective paper on the dial... 2. Use a very small needle, insert the needle from the top of the chrono or second hand... 3. Mount it to the movement... 4. Use the hand pusher (a tool that has a hole on the end) and remove the needle. There you go... If the second hand doesn't move, remove it. Then put 2 layers of protective paper on the dial. (the second hand need some height you know, it can be blocked by the luminova layer and stopped, or other case it may leave a verrry small mark on the dial as a scratch -- protective paper is critical for avoiding this) This is my way, I'm no professional watchsmith it may not work well on everybody, I'm not responsible for any kinds damages you make to your watches/parts due to this method. Photo details: 1. My needle with a 127 minute hand (due to size comparison) large needles may damage your second/chrono hands... 2. Second hand mounted on the needle. 3. Protective paper is on 111 dial. 4. Second hand is mounted on the movement. 5. Hand pusher is put on the needle's top to the top of the second hand. 6. Needle is pulled, so second hand is on the movement...

Old phase: there is no %100 rep... and there won't be... Hublots. yeah good looking watches. for nearly $400... but with an asian movement... nah. no way. $800 for swiss movt is another issue. but I wouldn't give that either... come on guys, we are talking about nearly a grant. No matter how good it is, you are getting ONLY a replica! About IWC. I honestly gave $260 for an Inge with Swiss ETA movt and I think it is a fair price but I'll never give $370 to a Cousteau with an Asian movt. Never ever. Another issue. I don't give a [censored] about the retail price of a gen. Gen Panerai 249 is sold for $10k in the market. SS watch with an unitas movement and a plexiglass crystal and $10k --> Amazing! but I would never give $400-500 for a poifect 249... my .02 Ps: and something personal... after getting 2 or 3 more replicas. I'm finished. I'll head to the gens.

Would a movement survive if the watch is not worn?
deepsea replied to Jumbie's topic in Movement Q&A
dear NRG, sorry I forgot to add; I had them all serviced and oiled. but nothing big deal, no parts changed, no big service has been made. just cleaning the movement and oiling... I mean they didn't need major service or changing of some parts after those years. -

deepsea replied to Jumbie's topic in Movement Q&A
I've got some watches passed down from my grandfather. (they are not replicas but they are not famous brands either... all hand wind. some wrist watches and a pocket watch) they are more than 50years old and they were kept in a drawer without working for maybe the last 10years or more... they all work fine now. so... I don't think an old-school handwind swiss movement watch (no matter replica or gen) will have problems after years... I'm not sure on Asian movements though... but FYI, I'm no expert -
Panerai is finished for me, I'm heading directly to smaller and more classical/handsome watches... but I don't wanna close the case without 249... Anyone who has both 127 and 249? Can you show some photos of them together if possible? It will be much appriciated. (yep I've seen gens together but I want to see reps ) Thanks in advance.

if you like tail, that's very good length... but you will probably have to punch an extra hole.
-
I've got small wrists... I've got a tendency of getting smaller watches nowadays, but biggers are always welcome. pls see photos. some say they don't look good. but I enjoy. you should decide it is good on you or not...
-
Congrats on your new watch. Wear it in good health

$30 is $30 man... don't underestimate the small amount of money... keep 10 x $30 and get a nice watch instead of this kind of junk. sorry if I'm offensive but that's my motto. I was getting low end watches and telling myself "no problem at least they are cheap"... but after all I got the idea that they are not only cheap but also junk
-
thanks here we go.

mine came with non working movement (the jewel on the balance kock was missing, it was taking a tour inside the watch. and with lots of HEAVY dings on the brushed case. and the bezel was kinda loose, not %100 sitting on the case, bezel plastic (not the sapphire glass plastic) was seen from side... eddie refused to re-send an immediate exchange, he said he cannot send a replacement till he has this watch in hand. so I didn't want to take any more risks and decided to fix it on my own... anyway it went a series of fixing... movement repair, rebrushing the case(it didn't come out %100 but OK) and re-fitting the bezel to the case...
-
ultimate fiddy from EL came with multiple problems... my bad luck. anyway all fixed. this is my first watch that everything I've did it... cannon upgrade reluming and the handmade leather strap. what do you think about it?
-
railmaster xxl is nnnnice but... VERY huge... I have it but it nearly gets no wrist time because of its size. and fa jones... it is a cheap looking rep. you might think of regular railmaster.
-
wow congrats on your watch mate. just a quick question: how is the change of L to T? repaint? or exchange the complete dial?
-
uhmmm... there are times watches are not interesting I'm in an identical boat, being watchLESS is not what I'm thinking but I'm bored of my style... the watches I previously loved now look boring to me, I don't plan to sell anything though, but I'll get a few more watches and give a big break in the hobby...

Looking for a watch that goes best with business suit :)
deepsea replied to deepsea's topic in General Discussion
hello again mates... "the bigger is better" motto died for me because of this: I saw an old gentleman with a perfect suit and with a verrry plain breguet. (only hour and minute hands) I said to myself; that is the poifect combo panerais (especially my fiddy and 187) are looking huge tool watches lacking beautifulness... so maybe panerai is finished for me, I won't sell any of them though... anyway; I already have a rolex date just, and a geunine submariner... (and hell yeah, nearly everyone thinks every rolex is fake unless you drive a bmw x5 and have a huge company ) what I'm thinking is the similar to the TTK's VC. but too pity I learned it is a quartz watch. I'm looking for a manual movt... I think now I'll go with the SS inge fa jones... and for gold reps, there is something I dislike. gold coating wears out in time and watch becomes junk... so I'm keeping away from gold reps, and never suggest one to someone. (of course if you are like me, never sell your watches and keep every one as a keepers in the collection) -

thank you mates... but I think breitling, vc overseas or that IWC... all are very NICE but too SPORTY for me I've found my watch. tempted to get it Vacheron Constantin contemporaine manual winding. the watch that may be seen on the main page of VC. too bad no replica of it for now -
yep I'll do it by myself. I've mounted a set on my fiddy... but I only bought one and didn't know anything about the codes... now I'm planning to get a little more for other pams... experienced members, pls advise
-
I've got some 47mm pams, some 44mm pams, and some 45mm pams and an omega railmaster xxl, with some rolexes (both rep and gen) but nowadays, at least for week. the bigger is better motto is getting uncool, I want a regular size (36-39mm) watch with white or cream dial, with a leather strap... nothing complicated but should go perfect with a business suit.... (even only hour/minute functions are enough...) I'm thinking on regular omega railmaster, but that's with black dial... let me describe the watch I'm looking for: the minute repeater IWC for ~$100 on many dealers... I want a watch like it but with a better movement and better case... what are your suggestions mates?

Anyone have recent contact with Eddie Lee - My Watch is MIA
deepsea replied to ajminla's topic in The Panerai Area
he will take care of you for sure, but you might have to wait LONG... he is not a scammer, he is honest, but extremely SLOW....
