  1. Hello,

this Saturday my Datejust unfortunately stopped. I checked the movement and found out that the jewel next to the ballance staff is lost...

It is a ETA2836, in my ETA documents I didn't find a seperate ballance staff just the complete ballance, however on cousinsuk site I find a piece named ballance roller. Is that the spare part I need? Or what would be the easiest fix?

    Thanks!

  2. Guys, forget the mahandi dials from eBay, they are a tiny bit too small, it doesn't fit my case (others had no problems with it, depends on the case you use). And the print color is a bit off, it's not white but rather a creamy color, that is ok for a vintage one but not for me.

If someone wants it send me a pn...

  3. Hi,

sorry but this bracelet is not right for a Datejust. What you have is a 93150, but a bad replica. That one was never used for a Datejust, if you want a Oyster bracelet pick up a 78360 bracelet with the normal clasp. This is not an Explorer clasp, it's a 93150 clasp that was used for: 1680 (+ transitionals), 5513, 1665, early 16610, and was possible to order with the 1675 (+t), in general only in combination with a diver watch since it has a diver extention.

  4. Hi,

no offense, but if you really need to ask how to mount a movement ring to hold an ETA, you should better ask a trained watchmaker or one of the modders here to do the job for you.

Edith:  maybe I should be more patient: It's just a ring! You take the movement (dial mounted) and place it in the case, then you place the ring into the case in the space between the movement and the case wall, then you fix it with movement tabs and screws.

Edith 2: maybe I should be more teaching: the Rolex 1570 is a 12 1/2 ligne movement (28,3mm) the ETA 2824 is a 11 1/2 ligne (25,6mm) movement, so you have to enlarge the diameter of the ETA movement to be as big as a 12 1/2 ligne movement.

    Hope this is enough...

  5. The posted watch (of billyfras) can only be a fake or a franken.

The Tridor is an old Day-Date which has more meat between the lugs (iirc because of the first versions of SEL they had), the watch posten (1./2. picture) clearly has not this type of case and has a Jubilee bracelet. Even if a Jubilee was fitted to an old Day-Date these endlinks wouldn't work.

It only (if genuine) could be a modern one with sapphire, but those were not availble as a tri colour. But based on the pictures there are other things that at least look off, the bezel eg.

  6. Yes its a fake! Thats the info i gathered rolex never made a two tone daydate, only gold or plat

    Hm, not 100% correct ;)

There is one very rare version of the early Day Dates that appears to be a two tone, but it's rather three coloured. It's solid white gold, the bezel and crown are yellow gold and the president bracelet is solid white gold with two lines of each yellow and rose gold. It is the so called Rolex Tridor.

But even based on these low quality pictures I daresay it's not genuine, the early 180X Day-Dates look different between the lugs.

    :)

  7. I think what Daniel means are not the endlinks for the Jubi or Oyster bracelet (should be the same on 162** and 16***) but for those small end pieces you can add when you have a leather strap on your DJ, they are custom built by etur.

    And no, I don't think they will fit a 16000 like a 16200.
