It's because they want (and expect) a gen for a rep price...

I thiNk a large part of it is jealousy as well... They spend lots and lots of money on the gens and then "us people" spend a fraction of that on a decent rep. Also, there is a huge area of customizing the reps. They can't do thay with a gen so while we are taking about parts and really making our watches our own, they are stuck with what they have!

Both are awesome, some prefer Josh while some prefer Andrew. Regardless, you really won't find a bad word between the two, Of you are buying a PO, make sure you ask about the bad dials that are floating around and make sure you get QC pictures. There were some bad dials that were not even close to accurate... Make sure you don't get one of those by chance!

I saw on Andrew's site the other day there are preorders... I don't recall if there was a date accompanying it, though.

Try e-mailing the trusted dealers on the site (start with Josh and Andrew)... If that doesn't work, just buy yourself an aftermarket band that will fit the lugs

Exactly. And the prices you get are all going to be nearly the same... when I first got here, I did the same thing. All the dealers responded with almost the exact same price. My advice to you, which is the advice I was given, find out who has had success with what dealer for the Ploprof and just order it, even if it's a little more.

I shipped off my MBW 1680 today to have the lug holes drilled and have the crown and tube installed! I cannot wait to get it back! I'll post some pictures when she comes home!

I believe they are Swiss movements... I would do the Ultimate, it will be more accurate aesthetically. If you're ordering from PureTime, e-mail Angus and ask him!
