Here is a similar thread that you may find useful click me
The main thing is as Ubi said is to use the right size screw driver.
-
Its a 1680 and pretty far from being gen!
-
it's a one off custom project. click here
Its pretty nice is what it is... and I normally really dislike gold.
Got some mail yesterday so it will probably be on for next little while.
-

Thanks, its had a fair bit done but still not happy with the insert and pearl
-
No both pics are the same watch

Today is 1665 time
-
Great stuff
nice effort mate keep it up

You probably should have set the hands to 12 when you removed them (if you did?)
Best bet is to turn the hands till the date clicks over then remove the hands and replace them at 12.
edit
sub beat me to it

Hey Ubi, just a quick one, did the 1665 have the silver date wheels? I always thought they were more of a 1680 thing?
-
Nice job!
Im glad the keyless works turned out not to be a problem for ya!
You will have no problems doing the crown guards yourself
-
This one most of the time, have a good one!
-
Yea Ubi I like that one the most also... new mod ay.... think I maybe interested
Do you use flash or just the bathroom lights?I used both as at really fast shutter speeds the hardest part is getting enough light in for a good exposure
-
OK... just pulled my SD apart to double check the HE valve and can can confirm mine does not go all the way through. I bought it from mbw about a year ago so maybe they changed the case design over time? Its pretty well water proof with gen crown and tube, crystal and siliconed the seals but yet to put a gasket in the crystal compression ring.
Thanks for the nice comments was pretty easy and I was surprised how good some turned out

ofrei does not have superluminova, you can only get it here RC TRITEC.
I had the ofrei stuff before finepics or who ever found this site and can tell you there is a world of difference between the products.

Thanks guys, the camera I used is a canon 350d which I just set to its fastest shutter speed then snapped away while pouring water on it
.
As for the He valve, I did have a look at it from the inside when I had apart and I couldnt see anything to suggest that it went all the way through the case on my one.

I decided to try some different shots of my 1665 for a change....
I like the way they are a bit more dynamic, I think they came out OK for a muck about.
-
The movement gives it away, it is a ETA 2824 when the original is a omega cal 2500. Overall these DE are pretty accurate (from the front).
-
Yea the insert maybe appears a little bright in the pics due to the lighting, it is darker under normal light. The pearls quite good on it though.
-
You probably should also order some stems just in case the one you have now ends up being short with the new crown/tube.
Feel free to pm me if you need any help.

Hey I have done this in my bond smp,
As has been said you will need both the crown and tube as the gen has internal threads.
You can get a tube Here .
I did not have to drill the case but did need to glue it in as it is a press fit and not threaded to the case.
