  1. i have the same problem, it seems i knocked the pearl of my sub-c cause its my daily beater. i tried contaccting TDs and to no luck
  2. i have the same piece from silix (silver dial though), very accurate right down to the hand winding movement. very minimalist rolex for daily wear
  3. depends on who is looking at your piece. some can spot a rep a mile away or once you handed them down your watch for close scrutiny. it may be difficult for an average joe to ascertain as whether a piece is a rep or not unless its a really bad one. and given the progress the rep game has been through, even entry level $130 reps are good enough, well of course you get what you paid for. at $680 another good one is the TC sub, gen construction if i'm not mistaken has the ability to take gen parts, etc. so yes i think a price that high is justified for such watch, that's the closest thing to a gen. franken watches aside, cause they are a different league
  4. given the flawed nature of current sub-c reps, as sneed said "-the average person couldn't tell the difference between this watch and a gen if you held them right next to each other." i have the same watch (Asian ETA movement) and it has more wrist time than my 1680 Rep, the upgraded bracelet is well worth it. as they ahve said it, wear it in good health. if i'm not mistaken, the case reference/serial of that watch is "V261246"
  5. go for the ETA clone, if time comes it needs service parts are abundant and is drop-in with real ETA movement. i have the sub-c like the one from josh in ETA 2836 clone movement, keeps perfect time and is fairly good as it is. i know the sub-c has flaws but what the hell, i like the feel of the watch. it gets more wrist time (the sub-c) than my 1680 rep from josh
  6. silix (silix-prime) has a 34mm 6694 oysterdate that is OK. even comes with a manual wind movemnt
  7. i have the non sub-c and the sub-c one of the noob. i do take them to swim and shower. the watch never leaves my wrist
  8. i have dealt with Josh / Perfect Clones in the past. he's prompt in replying to querries that you may have. i bought a vintage 1680 from him last november. watch is exactly as what is posted in his site. QC pics are also provided. the item that you will receive is exactly what the QC pics he will send. though there are much better reps out there, it's still your call if you will buy from him or not.
  9. i have josh's 1680 white, great rep as it is and also nice price point. has gen construction bezel.
  10. try perfect clones (josh) or silix-prime they do provide excellent service and answers to querries via email quite fast.
  11. same case as my 1680 from josh. yep, lume is only at hands and pearl
  12. i can also vouch for Joshua (Perfect Clones) and also SilixPrime, excellent service and they do really extend support to the customer even with the slightest issues. plus being trusted dealers, you are sure that they won't run and get your money. i got the 1680 white sub from josh and a 6694 oysterdate from silix, both keeps very good time and quality is OK
  13. in our office, my boss sports various rollies but the most frequent is the two tone datejust with champagne dial and diamond markers ref 16233. i do wear a vintage oysterdate
  14. low beat for vintage types is OK but for current type reps, high beat is a must. also, invest on ETA or Selita models. parts availability for one and quality
  15. nice piece! where do you source it from? details would be of great help..
  16. good model to start with is a basic datejust or a steel sub, depends if you can pull-off wearing a daytona without raising eyebrows from your acquaintances. but the daytona is indeed a good watch. in the end of the day it's still your choice. goodluck!
  17. i just notice it now. well thanks for the comment i'll check what josh has to offer.
  18. any comments / feedbacks with regards to silix-prime particularly this model http://www.silix-prime.com/rols048-p-1855.html looking forward to purchase this one. thanks!
  19. nice story, nice watch also. i too have a similar 2000 or so rep same black dial with stick markers, ran perfect time even to this day, the bezel though is starting to cr@p out (plated only) but the entire watch is SS including the crown. oyster band, engine turned bezel i think its powered by some asian 21j also.
  20. can you provide with the link for the said piece? thanks!
  21. nice review! what about the n00b with case number M556117? i have the TT one in black dial with ETA movement
  22. decided to get the TT noob a week ago, here are some pics (pardon the crappy pics) thanks!
  23. i will. the only thing that's keeping me from getting it is the quality of the plating but as i have seen in the actual sample looks pretty good. i'll go back to the store tomorrow to check it once more and hopefully i'll take it home with me
  24. maybe these are old stock, btw can the noob accept gen inserts, crown and tube also the crystal? i'm close to getting the TT sub anytime this week. most probably the first thing i would do is shave off the rehaut printing (n black) then refinish the bracelet. actually im contemplating on a sub-c SS and this TT noob.
  25. yup, M-serial. M556117 from what i read here and in various other rep forums this is a noob watch am i correct?
