  1. for the best DJ1 just build it yourself or have someone do it for you. it can be a combination of 3 reps (getting the best parts from each) to get 1 desirable watch. the one in the imgur link is pretty decent enough. just get the ETA version for servicability, etc. also don't forget to subject the bracelet into an oil bath to further enhance the feel when wearing it.
  2. from the pics, looks like the rehaut engraving is not aligned properly, can you post a pic with the dial shot head on? overall the watch is a good rep of the 116234 just tell your dealer to get the one with an aligned rehaut. datejusts were the 1st reps to have this perfected, even in low budget models.
  3. i'm planning on doing a franken also, i'm still at the collecting the parts phase. the datejust i posted above has all rep parts in it
  4. Nice piece.. just do a dial seap if you thibk the serif on oyster perpetual bugs you. I have 2 similar watches one is this tapestry dial datejust with eta movement
  5. that's a 6422 oyster, the non-date version of the 6694. most likely it has a 1220,
  6. choose either swiss eta or the cloned eta for time will come it will need a service it's a bit easier on your watchsmith to replace parts if needed
  7. looks good to me, agree to the post above that the crystal of the DSSD is way too thick and curvy that's why it appears that way. is your piece coming from perfectclones/josh?
  8. nice review.. i might take the plunge also for this one.. going to use this for my 16234 build
  9. nice build, eventhough it's a fantasy model of a 16014. if for a 16234 then it would be very correct.
  10. hmmm.. interesting. maybe maybe for my next build i'll utilize this movement. i saw a seller at amazon that deals with replacment datewheeles for a 3135 movement.
  11. will the gen / aftermarket gen-spec date disc fit this movement?
  12. try to contact the TDs here they might be able to help you. i did my 16234 datejust build from parts from my watchbox. all-rep, used an ETA2879 from a Rado Voyager and it's good to go. the dial is a c.2000 datejust dial black with stick markers, the chapter ring is the symetric track.
  13. ^ thanks sneed, i'd think about that. i ahve no tools yet to extract the tube and i might screw the thing and ended up with no watch... hehehe btw, what tool do you use for extracting the tube? on 2nd thoughts, i can live with the donor crown for the time being.
