  1. I bought a Vintage PAM with a Rolex Dial for $128.00 from a Trusted Dealer. Received it, tested it and all was OK. Some months later I wore it for 6 days straight and the Crown & Stem Fell Out. Have written 5 email, but non have been answered. Not Trusted Dealer behaviour, I am sure? It has an A6497 Movement. Been having a bit of a bad run with Crowns and Stems falling off these A6497 Movements lately. They used to be my favourites, but not any more. I live in Europe and I don't want to pay silly money to have a Crown and Stem put back into and watch. It would be cheaper to buy a new one but then what guarantees do I have from a Trusted Dealer that doesn't answer 5 email? What to do? I think it would be better if the A6497 Manual Movement was binned (even if it might work) and since I have NO hope of buying a Gen 1938 (or whatever), I thought it best to ask if this A6497 Movement can be replaced with a Gen Swiss Movement? I guess that there shouldn't be a problem with size difference since one is supposed to be a clone of the other? Not having any issues with Automatic movements as I find there is less wear and tear. Even A21J are lasting longer than these Asian A6497 and would gladly swap one over if it were possible as I don't really care if the Gen one came out with a Manual Movement only. All I want is a watch that I can wear for more than 6 days before the Cheap Rubbish Movement Falls Apart after 6 winds = 6 days wear. If I put in a A21J and wear it for a month, and the crown falls off after 6 winds at least I would have got 6 months wear and not darn 6 days? So, cutting to the Chase: Can the A6497 be replaced with a Swiss A6497? (By whom, and how much would it cost?) or Can the A6497 Movement be replaced by any Automatic Movement? (By whom, and how much would it cost?) Thank you. (I stand up for more quality even if it is a Rep. Yes I know it's a Rep, but I should get more than 6 days wear for $128.00? Otherwise it will be cheaper to fly from London to New York and but a heap of junk Reps (is it Cannal Street?) and I bet most will last more than 6 days?
  2. -1. PWC? Is it that guy from Thailand, that's NOT a Trusted Dealer on This Site?

I got mine for $88, but notice it is now $128. It's my fault for the price hike 'coz I gave it 2 x 5 star reviews because others had raved about it and then only gave it 4 starts and didn't say why they dropped a star? If you rave about something then it has to be 5 stars, Surely? But hey, who am I but a confused consumer! I was going to buy another at $88, but didn't do so because of the price hike. (That should help bring the price down again?) Nop! They stopped selling it I fall for it every time when buying from them. They say:"Don't pay until we send you instructions within 24 hours". I wait for their email for a week, but nothing comes, so I go to their site and scrounge around a bit then accidentally fall over "something" and there it is: "Toooooo Bad, we wait 3 days and Order Been Cancel By Us". ummmmm I never remember that they are the only "mob" that require to you to look for a message posted on their own site, rather than an ordinary email. Silly me, with all the millions of other things going on in my life I always forget to check their internal message posts on how to pay for their/my watch. Have written on scores of occasions to: "please change your/their ways and help this poor boy out", but ........... never even a single word of condolence/acknowledgement is received. It's back on sale for $128

I got one too from "Replicamake" and love it. Wearing it now, which is a huge coincidence.
  5. Fantastic Review. I ordered the Rep PAM 312 as I have the Gen and to my untrained eyes, they look and feel the exact same. Excellent Watch and will buy one of the other models as these are just too good to pass up.
  6. Thank you***** Your The Man***** and this is the BEST Rep Watch Forum, by miles.
  7. Thanks once more, LH. Have nothing to loose really as these so called Vintage Daytona's with the lady "bits" were as cheap as chips and I just don't have the heart to sell them on to other Noobs like I was or should I be honest and stay still am? Was in hospital a few weeks ago having MRI's and CT Scans ... so why didn't I think to hide some watches in my pockets to get them scanned? ... but that's me, I get always get great ideals if someone tells me first. Darn.
  8. I think my: 6239,6241,6263 & 6265 Daytona count is now about 10. I don't know anything now, so you should have seen me a few months ago when I bought some of these watches. I knew even less. Anyway, I ended up with some great ones but also with a few "so-called" vintages that had "crown guards" that I once read were called "Sofia Loren" or "Big Lady" but they didn't belong to that era of vintage Daytona's! I know I've posted pics. of them here somewhere, but I can't find where. If I were to file the Big Lady's "things" down, would I end up with two huge holes where the "things" were? Or, would I get rid of the "Big Ladies" and have a nice, shiny, smooth surface without "holes" that would looks more like the vintages were supposed to look? That is, without the "Big Lady" Crown Guards? What I am asking is if the Sofia Loren "bits" are solid or hollow? Please, Thank You. Gotta stop sipping wine at 4 am as I'm getting the Titles wrong and I don't know how to fix em.
  9. Thank you very much, for your very helpful post.
  10. Hi Dave, I hope I am not off topic (why am I so afraid of stuffing up?) I'm not disputing your greater knowledge, so would like to pick your brains, please. I have a Gen Pam 312, and was looking for a Rep 312, so that I can keep my Gen in it's box as "New Old Stock" and one day trade and buy a "Bronzo". Was told to wait for Angus by more Senior Members. Did so and pulled the trigger last night on Angus's 312. So, does your comment about "Cartels" include all models or just the PAM 127? Oh! After seeing my Gen 312, a mate (from overseas) bought a so called rep PAM 312 from some guy in Thailand, about 6 months ago. His rep has the numeral 3 on the dial whereas my Gen just has a Marker instead of the "3" ?????? Well, this Guy from Thailand started off as Sweat as Apple Pie when things were going right, but when his watch started to fall to pieces in front of my mates eyes, this Guy turned into a "Nasty, Dirty Mouthed, Imbecile". My mate showed me the exchange of emails. The Guy's an ungracious "Uncertified Lunatic".
  11. I was diagnosed a Diabetic 10 years ago and was probably undiagnosed for 10 years before that. Went from 75 kilos to 115 kilos, but once I found out that it was the undiagnosed Diabetes that made me put on weight, I quickly lost the weight with hard work and went back to 75 kilos. Have never even needed help from diabetic pills to control my diabetes. It's all done by diet control only. I still have my 1 or 2 bottles of red a night and only have to watch what I eat to keep it under control. Diabetes can be a horrible disease if uncontrolled, but with a little willpower you can beat it. Have a cousin who live to 96 who was a diabetic, and he lost nothing along the way. I have sympathy for fellow sufferers, but it take self control to beat it. I don't know who TTK is, but by what I read, he is a man that had or has no self control: in his battle against his disease and no control over his eloquent speech. No one deserves to be threatened, belittled and abused with foul language by anyone, not even a Diabetic. Hope that he, his many re-incarnations and supporters are never permitted to join Our Forum. It's the Best Watch Forum and does not seem to have any semi-literate "smart faces" who delight in belittling every Newbe that joins for every mistake they make. Long Live RWG, THE WAY IT IS. We do not need to lower our standards to survive.
  12. +1, We don't need nasty people who threaten decent people with physical violence, insults, filthy language and sell illegal knives (a crime in Our Country). So, why should a decent Watch Forum Site such as WRG give this kind of person a place to sell his wears? If the others are hard up, then let them keep him and enjoy his short temper and filthy words. I'm no admin so I can't say: "Why don't you (who love and miss him so much) join him at his other residences? All Communities are judged by their lowest common denominator. This is a fun site with lots of very helpful, nice people. Admins: Let's keep it this way, please.
  13. LOL +1, I'm too much of a Newbe to have enjoyed? TTK's articulate English. It's past 7 am and haven't gone to bed yet, as having found this thread by accident, I was just unable to "put it down, so to speak. I felt, at times, that I had run into snippets of a Mills & Burns Love Novel. Dear Gran, Sorry if I ask, (and please don't be offended) but are you TTK's Gran? His Girlfriend? His Wife? or the Man Himself? Was reading another post about a man called "Robert from Thailand" and noticed that his behaviour was in line with Neil/TTK. Could: TTK, be both Neil and Robert and a few more names that escape me for now? Oh well, that's the end of me being accepted by some other Watch Forum Sites as a Member! I'm really debating if I should "pull the trigger" on this post, as I have all to loose and nothing to gain, and I don't even know the Characters from this "intreging" Novel! And who knows, this "man" may give me a darn good dose of articulate English posing as one of his mates on Our Forum. I guess that if I am attacked then they will have exposed themselves? Well, here goes! Live dangerously!
  14. Yes Thanks. Have 2 identical PN 6239. One with the original A7750 (not serviced yet) and another serviced & mod'ed with a Swiss Movement. Both keep excellent time, but obviously the serviced one has a much smother wind. Will service the other, before I wear it.
  15. Have 2, 3 is on order, and would like to add 4. My fav? = hmmmmmmmmmmmm 3.
  16. Buy from Trusted Dealers on this Forum ONLY, is my 2 pence.
  17. Sorry for my Newb question: What is a Franken, please?
