Need Help from the Members: Got a special bottle for Ziggy
promotersf replied to promotersf's topic in The looney bin
Thanks Slai, hopefully someone will be able to assist. If it wasn't a $350 bottle, I would just risk it through customs. Come on, let's do this for The Zigmeister! -
I'm in for two, awesome project chief!

Hey Guys: I was touched awhile back when some fellow brothers decided to band together and get Rob a bottle of Reserva de la Familia tequila. The Zigmeister has modded so many of my watches that I am so thankful and I wanted to show my appreciation by sending him something special as well. I ordered a bottle of limited edition Partida Elegante Extra Anejo tequila back in December and it's finally shown up...tried to send it up, but got denied by UPS and USPS. I guess customs is a [censored] when trying to send any alcohol. Are there any fellow RWG members who live on the border or plan on visiting Canada in the near future?...I would love to see if someone can help ship this once in Canada. I'm sure we've all benefited from Rob's craftsmanship and his knowledge that he's shared with all of us. Let me know if anyone can assist...this is a group effort on the part of RWG. Chieftang is also a donor as he's come through for me on a side project and instead of taking payment, he asked me to do something nice for RWG. I'm already a supporting member so I thought sending something to Rob and Jen would be like another gift from all of us. PM me! thanks dave

Brian, you are more than welcome anytime you're in SF...Rob and Jen have an open invitation as well! dave

I'm more of a wine drinker these days...but just like my single malts, I enjoy sipping a nice, fine tequila. As many members have mentioned, stay away from the cheap [censored]...an excellent anejo like Herradura Suprema, Partida Elegante, Chinaco Negro, El Tesoro 75th anniversary, Don Julio 1942, Centinella 7 year old or the Reserva de la Famila will change anyone's mind about tequila. I'm hitting 70+ bottles right now which is double my scotch list...so I guess I like tequila! 4 COPAS ANEJO ARETTE ANEJO CABO UNO ANEJO CASA NOBLE ANEJO CAZADORES ANEJO CENTINELA 7 YEAR OLD ANEJO CHINACO ANEJO CHINACO NEGRO ANEJO CORRALEJO ANEJO CORZO ANEJO DON EDUARDO ANEJO DON FERNANDO ANEJO DON FULANO ANEJO DON FULANO IMPERIAL 5 YEAR ANEJO DON JULIO ANEJO DON JULIO 1942 ANEJO EL CHARRO ANEJO EL TESORO ANEJO ESPERANTO ANEJO GRAN CENTENARIO ANEJO HERRADERA SUPREMA ANEJO HERRADURA ANEJO JOSE CUERVO RESERVA DE LA FAMILA ANEJO MAESTRO ANEJO MEZCAL DEL MAESTRO RESERVA ANEJO MILAGRO ANEJO MILAGRO SELECT BARREL ANEJO PARTIDA ANEJO PARTIDA ELEGANTE ANEJO PATRON ANEJO PORFIDIO SINGLE BARREL ANEJO PUEBLO VIEJO ANEJO 4 COPAS REPOSADO 7 LEGUAS REPOSADO ASOMBROSO REPOSADO CASA NOBLE REPOSADO CLASE AZUL REPOSADO CORAZON REPOSADO CORRALEJO REPOSADO CORZO REPOSADO DON FULANO REPOSADO GRAN CENTENARIO REPOSADO HUSSONG'S REPOSADO PARTIDA REPOSADO PATRON REPOSADO PORFIDIO REPOSADO ASOMBROSO SILVER CASA NOBLE SILVER CENTINELA SILVER CORZO SILVER DON FULANO SILVER DON JULIO SILVER EL TESORO PLATINUM SILVER GRAN CENTENARIO SILVER HACIENDA DEL CRISTERO SILVER JOSE CUERVO RESERVA DE LA FAMILA SILVER MILAGRO SILVER PATRON SILVER PATRON PLATINUM SILVER PORFIDIO SILVER

The lite version is kinda intriguing...I have the SS Ceramic BB, but i like the looks of the Black Magic...thinking about getting the Black Magic Lite, Ceramic Bezel, and have Chieftang do a double AR. just curious...does anyone know what is more accurate...the BB has a very impressive and strong double AR...chieftang has an amazing double AR which doesn't have the crazy Double AR tint at the right angles...which is more accurate? if it's the strong factory, i'll just order another from angus but if it's not, i may try the lite with the ceramic and have chieftang do his magic...

Gen PAM Crowns - No More Requests Being Accepted
promotersf replied to Watchmeister's topic in The Panerai Area
hey kruzer, would love to get a couple more gen pam crowns if you get them in...the ones i got from you are fantastic! pm me, thanks w! dave -
I'm in Vegas 6+ times a year, so I always visit Tourneau during one of my BJ breaks...huge, but not the best. I'm usually wearing my gen 2 tone blue sub, but they do run a fairly comprehensive list of watches. I was considering a gen Cartier Santos 100 chrono, but didn't pull the trigger. Their Panerai section is always small, but the sales guys always tell me that they can get me certain models that they can make a phone call on...the last time i was there in Dec, they only had 4 panerais. I forgot to ask if they could source a black steel avenger...still hoping this gets made... Funny thing...they don't carry Hublot...but in the Forum Shops, there is a smaller store on the right hand side heading back to Caesars that does carry Hublot. They had 2 BB, a SS and a Rose Gold...sales lady was doing the big pitch, but let me try them all on. To be honest, I thought our reps were pretty close in overall feel...I'd love to do a real side by side with a SS Ceramic BB.

Hey TTK, WU sent, moneygram online wasn't allowing me to send in baht, confirmation # in a PM. please note my change of payment via WU. thanks for putting this together neil! dave
-
I asked Angus about this, and he advised that only one factory was producing this model...obivously this isn't the case. I've tried looking online to find out which is correct, and the photos i'm coming up with aren't helping. It's a very nice, clean looking watch and i'm happy with it...would be happier if i knew which version was correct
-
I just got mine from Angus and I noticed your subdials have concentric circles detailing where mine is flat white...does anyone know which is correct? It's a great looking watch, gonna go size the bracelet right now

Hey Neil, I've never grabbed one of the noobs, so put me down for a 074!

promotersf replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
Good God Rob...you always amaze me! This is why I have 5 more watches mailed today enroute to you! -
Sending mine out for the regular The Zigmeister Lume, but also doing the new Chieftang Double AR and doing the ETA 7750 swap. I'll post pics once all the pieces come together and I get the watch back.

promotersf replied to HauteHippie's topic in General Discussion
hey chief, i should have 4 coming from rob. excellent! question, i may want to redo my 3717 which has a lip mark...is it difficult to remove the AR from your previous coating...i know durability was always a priority for you and you do excellent work. The Zigmeister, i have my feb appointment for my round of mods, with a separate shipment going to you this week(3 watches just for relumes), can i also send up a couple for crystal removal as well. don't want to drown you in watches! dave -
hey chief, interested in possibly 3 for january's run, looking forward to those pics of the new treatment! dave

Who needs ETA 2893 Panerai GMT hand?
promotersf replied to ajoesmith's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
hold one for dani, he just received my 063 with full mods...just missing this and he's done. -
Nice find Chief...I found this extremely interesting.
-
Chief, I'm excited about your new service, especially without lip marks. I've had several crystals Double ARed by Brian and they are stunning...Chieftang, put me down for a couple on the next run and advise when so i can send a couple watches up to Rob. thanks!
-
Happy Holidays to you and Jenn! Wishing you the best in 2008 Rob! dave P.S. If you're ever in San Francisco, my 70+ bottles of tequila are open for you!

Oops what strap to get for a coming new watch?
promotersf replied to alant's topic in The Panerai Area
I just sold a Swiss Pam 231 to Joey on a brand new OEM Panerai Black gator. The brown looks sweet, but I find the black gator goes better with a dark suit, especially since I'm usually wearing black shoes with my black and navy suits. -
I've been looking at these for awhile...the only thing holding me back was the subdials, are they correct? with a double AR, these might be fantastic! dave

I have one and the reviews about it are accurate, not much to add. It is a good watch, maybe not the super watch we were all hoping for but solid. i may swap out the movement with a swiss 7550 with The Zigmeister in feb and have him relume it. There definitely is a double AR, but it is not even close to being a HBB AR. Nonetheless, it is a very clean, attractive and comfortable watch.
