  1. Didn't we have that one elsewhere? I got sent this one today. Check this out:

    U-boat

PVD looks a little too utilitarian IMHO. SS is much better.
  3. Put the amp and pedal board away and why not try combining a percussive technique with the guitar. Check out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=71CyqRiFohY

    Pams?

Gosh! Another great thread for those strapped for cash. Thanks for the recommendations. I don't know whether to laugh at all the possibilities or cry at the thought of my bank balance.
  5. It is for me too. I have lurked on many, but this is first community that I have encountered where there seems to be a friendly spirit that encourages participation from members, and where newbs don't get flamed for being newbs. My best wishes for the Season to one and all.
  6. Interesting thread for someone on a budget (like me). I have a couple of reps, but could never afford to buy a gen. rollie, panerai et al. I quite like some of the cheap gens shown here, but not wishing to hijack the thread, where do you go to buy Invicta watches or the Seiko ones shown if you *don't* live in the US? I live in Canada and most sites where I see these watches don't ship outside the continental US. I have seen a couple of ebay dealers, but I wonder whether they are shipping stock that has a warranty that is useless oustside the US? Presumably one would get stung a shed load of duty on the watch when it arrives in Canada too?
  7. Here's my favourite watchwinder. Bit noisy, but lot's of fun!
  8. Hey not bad. But they all seem to be lefties. Is that the case?
  9. Wonder what a sub would look like through a "Pollackizer"?
  10. In reply to your topic title: yep!
  11. I must admit I too couldn't see references about the rotor and the types of winding. I am interested in the answer too.
  12. I take it you don't have young kids? My kids have always grabbed my glasses and played with them, bent them, sat on them etc. Never done that with my watches.
  13. Try using the 'View New Posts' link at the top of the page. It's much easier.
  14. I have ordered online before from Optical4Less based in Hong Kong. Pleased with the service. Got a pair of tinted sunglasses made with my prescription shipped to my door for about $50US. If anyone else is interested in this route then I would check out http://www.eyeglassretailerreviews.com/index.htm.
  15. But with epoxies don't you have to mix some bonding agent with a hardener? Bit messy and you only need a small amount. Which brand of epoxy do you use?
  16. Not exactly sure myself, but I have seen others use the verb 'to loctite' when referring to sticking something in place. Hopefully this reply bumps it up and gets a response from someone considerably more experienced as I too have just discovered a rather wobbly insert.
  17. So what I am hearing is that the an additional power reserve module is added to the movement to give it the PR feature and generally they seem to work fine. I have been looking at the same PAM 090 as you 2005SUB, but I can't really justify the expense of any of the Eta ones. As it is I haven't told the wife yet about the B&R winging its way to me for Christmas!
  18. I'm still learning so apologies if this is a dumb question or it has been covered elseswhere (i really did use the search facility, honest!). I get the impression that the Asian 21J seems to be a pretty good movement for your money, but how do they fair when used with power reserve? How does the power reserve indicator actually work?
  19. And so the ground swell begins...
  20. Aha! So the idea is to wear it over you sweater!
  21. This might interest a few of you who haven't got the nice storage chest for your collection: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009OP1OW?tag=rw...KPVC8W7FE7&
  22. Hmm. Thanks the for help guys. I am not sure my wrist could pass that off, which is a real shame as I really like the design. Perhaps I just need to work out more I see there is a 39mm square version which I assume is not an authentic size, but it might be what I would have to plump for.
  23. Having cut out a 46mm square piece of card and looked at it on my wrist it is still hard to imagine how big a B&R rep would look. Since I haven't got forearms like Arnie I am just curious to see what they light look like on a wrist. Has anyone got any wrist shots of these beauties?
