  1. Well in the last few weeks we have had the 243, 202, 225, 64, 232, all the flip lid types and the Arktos north Pole (due soon) - how many do you want!!!
  2. Joe's right here - my own wheel does not click round all the time when using the quickset button. It does sometimes but other times will move most of the way then hang up. I have no idea why this is except to say that there may be some very slight distortion in the wheels as a result of having been handled so many times by various people and the quickset mechanism is very sensitive. The solution I have found (although not ideal but does work) is to set the hands to about 8pm then operate the quickset - if it hangs then advance the hands a short way (8pm starts to engage the normal date change mechanism) which is enough just to trip the wheel the last bit. I really don't have an answer other than what I said about the wheels being passed from pillar to post in the search for the right printers. I can assure members that their watches will function perfectly normally with the date change at midnight - it's only the use of the quickset button that is affected. I also assure everyone that this scenario is not likely with the 2893's etc as they do not have a quickchange button.
  3. That is for a quartz movt - if the hand has not reset to zero on a Valjoux then the hand is either slipping on it's hand tube (not unusual for the rep hands on the chrono PAM's) or the hand needs repositioning properly. Most likely the hand is slipping so it needs removing and fixing with epoxy on it's underside. The Zigmeister has a tutorial about this in his The Zigmeisterzone.
  4. I'm sure Mr Smith will be keeping an eye on whats happening here - will no doubt hear from him soon but it might be useful to do a tally.
  5. That is correct - the top three photos are the H series CG which is very similar top the early Pre-V CG's. The bottom photo is the F and G series type CG.
  6. The fees are £8 import duty then another £13.50 which are Parcelforces fees for collecting the tax 0 neve seen anything like it - how ridiculous!
  7. Welcome fellow Englander!!
  8. When you answer indicate exactly if a set for 063 or the GMT hand only for the other watches as I need fairly precise numbers. Alos there is nothing definite here - just gauging interest.
  9. This is indeed looking likely and will only take a year!!! Actually should be a lot quicker as the jigs and screens have been retained for the future!!
  10. I have been asking Davidsen if he would make the correct size GMT hand in silver for these GMT watches and also if he could do the correct minute hand (as well as correct his own 063's glaring hand faults) as a set with the new GMT hand. Now he has told me that it costs $400 to set up the machines to cut the hands so I just want to know how many would be interested in either a full 063 GMT set and a single GMT hand for the others. No Pm's - just indicate here please.
  11. Very unlikely to have a mineral glass crystal - the case here is the same as the current sub $300 187 reps and these all have sapphire. No reason for them not to.
  12. Nice work Zigmeister!! The lume does set hard and if coated with the varnish will form a smooth shiny fairly hard surface. I have re-lumed the "pearl" on my PAM 187 the same way.
  13. Yes they do (about the only thing that does!!).
  14. Not a new version as such - TTK gets his checked out by a watchmaker who I think makes sure that the markers are firmly stuck on. Waterproofing just measn that the O rings and seals will have been lubed properly. The new 7750 has still got the occasional problem but are certainly better than the old ones.
  15. Date font very unlikely to be fixed as the makers use the movt as it comes from ETA and do not replace the datewheels. He valve is likely to be the raised type as the factory making this is the same as the current asian version.
  16. I don't know why this happened - I had sent Davidsen detailed drawings and photos of the crowns a long time ago and he duly sent me a prototype for evaluation. All was excellent apart from the fact that the tube was too big to fit the regular rep casetube. Ok so he supplies a new tube (but who needs the hassle of taking out the old tube and fitting a new one) and he did point out that they were designed with his cases in mind - fair enough. But then a production crown arrives and it is totally different from the prototype and the 48 teeth was one of the things that changed - I cannot for the life of me see why!! Perhaps if D reads this he could explain. Here is the prototype of D's crowns and you will see that it was a very good shape.
  17. Still ok - now been running for 72 hours continous and spot on accurate still!!
  18. will try to answer this tomorrow as it's my bedtime now!!
  19. Just to make this clear - V you are right these will NOT fit Davidsens cases so be aware of this people. Personally I prefer the standard rep cases as I feel they are more accurate which is why this run is designed for them only. You are welcome to modify them to fit D's case but at your own risk.
  20. As far as I know Davidsens have only 48 teeth when they should have 50. I would rather have that right than worry about .2mm. Also Davidsens crown means fitting a new casetube which is additional hassle. If he has changed these faults then his would be selling out in no time and Palp would be out of business - but he ain't so he's not (if you get me).
  21. is it me or is the rep minute hand too short?
  22. Sorry dude but cannot keep silent sometimes!!!
  23. That silver ring visible under the crystal is a mirrorred ring that is stuck to the underside of it - it could be removed but that might damage the AR coating (if there is one). Also the dial markers have a grey surround but they should be black and the markers at 8 + 10 should be shorter like the PAM87 - dammit - so close and yet, as always, so far!!!
  24. Guys - not preaching at you here but past history has shown that not all interested parties end up completing the deal and quietly drop out. So if you are genuinely interested and will absolutely commit to purchase then this will make thing a bit easier. I can tell you that Mr Smith is working to extremely tight margins here so if even a couple remain unsold that is likely to make the run go into a loss - and we cannot have that as the initial payment to the maker is quite a lot of money. Remember also that these CG's are also for the 5218/201A's etc that a lot a lot of us have as projects.
  25. Just to clear up some confusion as to the use of Tritium on some Panerai dials. All the submersible 1000m range use Tritium on the dials because Super-Luminova is not good enough to be consantly visible when diving at extreme depths, and Tritium does not need to be charged by light. Remember that these watches are serious tools rather than fashion items. Tritium is still used in the watch industry but strict licensing only makes it worthwhile for specific applications - SL requires no licence and is non toxic which is why most makers don't use Tritium anymore.
