Looks to me like it will be from the same maker as the 87 (not the same as the previous version) so most likely the bezel is a 60 click, and the edge of the bezel is correctly polished this time. Shame that the He button is now engraved - it should be blank!!! There's always something!!!!
Like any mail delivery system things get lost, labels come off, stuff gets stolen etc etc. Could be any number of reasons that would be considered quite normal considering the number of items handles by the Royal Mail. And you don't know that the problem was in the UK. It might have left UK successfully but gone missing in the Greek airport?
I have a gmail account so it might be better to use that just to send the order through. There are a few people who have paid for this during the course of other work so they need to be taken out of the eqaution!!
Gentlemen - the story continues!! I am hoping to have a sample here next week of both the 2892 and 2893 wheels to fit and check.
Assuming all is well (and this time the company are using metal printing plates rather than a screen = better!!) I will start to take firm orders/payments). I know a lot of you have already put names down earlier in the thread but I would ask not to do anything more until I give the word go. I'm not quite sure how to handle this as no doubt I'm going to be deluged with PP payments, pm's and emails etc so sensible suggestions are welcome.
Unless they use a 7753 then the date window depth will always be an issue as the transfer gears to shift the 12 sub dial to the 3 position sit over the date ring which is why it has to be sunk down. 7753's are not in supply anymore as ETA have withdrawn it from general sale.
Thank god the whole EU legal system is so damn inefficient that it should take them a while to deal with that. Meanwhile we are definitely in the renaissance period for reps - make the most of it while it lasts!!!
There are a couple of PAM surprises coming - I cannot say more but 2 new ones that have not seen the light of day yet. The others are improved versions of existing reps and the Arktos NP GMT is the last one.
You can use superglue but let it dry overnight before re-assembling the watch as any residual glue will leave vapour marks on the dial otherwise. I now use dial dots (little adhesive pads to stick mine).
That certainly could happen and there is already an Asian movt that is very similar to the 2893's (it has a distinctive shaped rotor). We will just have to wait and see. At the moment there is no need for the rep makers to do this as the supply of ETA's is not a problem.
Hopefully it will mean our reps will be worth something one day.
Check out his other items - he's got another 217 starting at $999,999 opening bid!!!!! (actually the same one but apparently incorrectly listed). The tri incabloc spring is another give-away here - definitely fake - er - rep.
JSW - ETA make hundreds and hundreds of thousands of movements every year and are THE major supplier to the worldwide watch industry. And that industry also includes Chinese watch factories who buy ETA movts for their legitimate domestic market but not all of them get put into domestic brand name watches, some go into reps. ETA are well aware that this happens but international commercial rules mean that they have to trade in certain ways so it's difficult for them to stop the rep makers using their products in reps, and the fact that like any company they are profit driven so the loss of sales to the asian market would result in lower dividends for their shareholders - something they cannot afford not to have.
So if you buy a rep with an ETA movt then it certainly is ETA although they do have other manufacturing plants outside of Switzerland (in asia actually) so an ETA is not necessarily made in Switzerland - but it's still ETA.
