  1. Well not being very Christian and being a Communist country means they just provide all the [censored] that we commercial Christmas celebrators buy!! So no - they don't break for it.
  2. believe me I've been on and on at DSN to sort that printing with no joy and these dials are no longer available. @babola - you get the prize for spotting the flaw. This dial is only temporary - the print is the wrong height because the printing plate has been made for a smaller dia dial and is in the right place - just the colour is not right yet so this was done as a quick way to sort the watch into a wearer!!
  3. This is still in the pipeline but this time of year is a bit difficult. Hopefully early in the new year we will see some results.
  4. Basically that would have been a DSN sandwich dial that I simply filled in the markers with superlume that was coloured with inkjet ink to make it more orangey. Then it was sprayed with a satin lacquer. The hands were done with a more white lume as all the photos of gens I have are like this. Actually my own 5218 has had a few changes recently. Same technique for the dial. I had an old case lying around that was a sample from DSN when he first started some time ago and I was looking at this recently and realised that it had a very shallow bezel (just like the gen comparison shown on the Paneristi site) so I swapped that over and although it does not have a nylon retaining ring it fitted ok. So now my crystal sits proud of the bezel and the bottom edge lip is very shallow. My case is one of those odd ones that just happened to have the correct lug shape for the 201A and I also have a gen H series CG coming soon which will finish that off nicely. There may also be some developments with a more accurate 201A dial sometime next year - I have already been working on the artwork for it as the DSN dial could have been printed better but I'm not going to say anymore about that as it may not happen for a while.
  5. Actually Jimmy used an F series 112 to make his cases and CG's from. I know cos I just asked him a few days ago. As far as I'm concerned they will be sorely missed as they are perfect for the F and G series watches.
  6. There is nothing like a PAM - nothing like a PAM Just wait till you have 20 of the damn things!!!
  7. For those of you that don't know I have done a helluva lot of work on this. Refined and re-shaped the rep case, made new SS strap bars which are welded into the case, recessed and welded the case tube in the case so it's flush (some were like this), had the crown engraved (although not perfect), had a new bezel made (by a member here) along with a proper plexi glass crystal, had the strap made specially, fitted with a Cortebert 616 (courtesy of another member here), had the dial specially printed, filled the markers with resin and relumed under dial, stripped hands of paint then aged to tarnish the brass etc etc. Been a long road to get this far and I have to say the pics do not do it justice. It really does look old.
  8. Cheers Marco - I know how the dials are done now!!
  9. Here's a couple of pics of my 3646 with it's new dial. This one started as a rep dial which I modded a bit then off to the printers for the dial lettering (copied from a gen dial). This is really a temp dial as the proper one will be brown when I can get the colour right!! Note the resin filled markers and I kept the lume colour fairly neutral as not all 3646's have orange markers. Enjoy.
  10. I know the datewheel colours have been discussed - I only mentioned it because all the BB's in my local AD have black datewheels except for the smaller versions - it's very confusing!!
  11. Also the datewheel should be black on the larger 7750 movt versions. It is only white on the smaller 2893 types. The crossbar can always be sorted - out with the fine paint brush!!!
  12. SSsurfer - the 28 has an additional lens in the Soprod module which pre-magnifies the date as it is further away from the dial window. I might see if I can remove this and see if it makes any difference. All members please excuse me if I don't reply immediately to you (or at all for that matter) as I am getting a lot of emails regarding orders. Please be assured that unless you hear otherwise your orders are confirmed and will ship in early January.
  13. Yeah - and the reserve is not met yet either!!!
  14. Im coming to NY in Feb - Levi 501's for £23!! Wohoo!! Quite happy to leave things as they are !!! Also a good time for UK members to buy reps as well!!

  16. Well I tell you what it has been a nightmare getting this far. My printers always seem to screw up the first time but after a while they hit it right on the spot. Actually they are only just getting used to their Pad machine (which is a Swiss one the same as the watch industry uses) and doing these has helped them fine tune their knowledge. The use of metal plates instead of a screen will ensure perfect results and these samples were printed using a screen (which is why the black background has a slight texture - but not in the final run).

  18. Gentlemen at last the wait is over. I have now got the trial batch of datewheels for the 2893 GMT and 2892A2 Power reserve PAM movts through and I have to tell you they are damn perfect. I am thrilled to bits. The font is the exact same font that Panerai use and is crisp and sharp with no defects at all. These samples have been printed using a mesh screen (which can create imperfections although I cannot see any at all) but the production run will be printed using a metal etched plate which will give an absolutely perfect print. And what's more is that the 2893 wheels are identical to the 2836 movts so all you members that are not as fortunate to own a 2893 version can still have the same datewheel. I have taken some quick pics in my PAM 063 and PR PAM 028 (but the 028 are not great as my lens had trouble focussing on the actual wheel which sits behind another lens in the soprod PR module and the crystal is non AR so the internal reflections make it difficult to see). The price of these is £45 shipped worldwide. Sorry for you US members who have a weak dollar but not much I can do about that. I will start shipping in the new year as we are too close to Christmas now. Please do not PM me as my box fills up too quickly but email your order to me at finepics@gmail.com - my PP is finepics@hotmail.com and please put in the subject line 2893/2836GMT or 2892PR so I know what is what at a glance. I am doing this on a first come first serve basis however thos of you that expressed an interest initially will get priority. There are only about 25 of the 2892 PR wheels available and about 75 GMT's. Some have already been taken in advance but there should be enough to go around. Here are the quick pics: 2893 and 2836 2892A2
  19. OK - just checked and they do fit the 2836 - lucky you!!!
  20. I need to check this as they look the same as the 2836. I have just had the first sample back after corrections and they are damn perfect. See the new thread regarding this.
  21. They are gold plated so doubt you will be able to spray anything that will look nearly as good. Why don't you buy a new set from davidsen.
  22. My pleasure!! I have photos of the real thing that show it so that's how I know!!
  23. Not true. The earlier versions had the arrow head in the A and B series. The later versions changed over to the leaf hand.
  24. I have to say it was a pleasure to finish the job for you V - that dial is just so lovely - the rep dials are a mile off in fact. Its strange that it has almost a plastic coated look to the surface of it which I suspect is the result of a chemical process on the dial metal rather than a painted/printed surface. Also the lettering looks different for the same reason as well. Enjoy my friend - I am very envious!!!
