  1. Any last takers on this still have until noon tomorrow to get their name in. The printers willl be commencing the run as soon as I give them the numbers and I have delayed as long as I can now.
  2. Apologies to Olreon - entered my mistake and duly removed. If I have listed anyone in error they will be removed and an apology given.
  3. Yep - sorry to have to do this but a considerable number of wheels were ordered and paid for in advance. I absolutely refuse to make a loss which is what looks like happening. This does not even take into account my time or phone calls and postage back and forth to the printers. I'm very disappointed and now almost do not feel it was worth the effort except for the fact that my own watches are now almost as perfect as can be.
  4. Well the DW's are now done with - there was a total of 8x 2892 Power reserves and 28 2893/36's. This is hardly worth the effort and the following list of names is the reason why this is the last project I undertake for any members. It is simply not enough to commit your name to a list and then not follow through. I realise that this has taken a long time to get to the final stage and I particularly thank all those of you patient enough to see it through to the end. So where are you: ROBIDEAUX STANGVERT TECH DACHSUND CSKENT69 CASEY BULLY CANUCK88 PERINI If I have listed you here in error please let me know and I will remove you immediately.
  5. Last chance gents - don't email me at my usual email - please email to finepics@gmail for this (as per my original instructions).
  6. It's without a single doubt genuine. The verdigris in the movt clearly shows it's age - the cracks in the resin in the dial markers, the stamping in the caseback, the crown and crucially the fact that the bezel was able to be removed (it screws onto the movt spacer are all tells) that this is not a fake
  7. Constantly - I work in a part of London where high end watches are an everyday sight! My neck has a permanent crick in it because of this.
  8. All payment and email details are in the first post - but as Chieftang says - PP to finepics@hotmail.com and send an email with type and quantity to finepics@gmail.com.
  9. Unless you have access to commercial type polishing lathe and compounds this will not be a quick job to polish it as that crown will be difficult to do - would take me about an hour using a polishing lathe. PVD requires nothing to be done as it is depending on the finish you want. It might need bead blasting to gibe a nice even semi-matte finish.
  10. My problem is screws on the strap blocks just turning and not sitting nicely recessed like Sql's. Also one of the bezel screws doing the same thing and this is the same with 2 watches as I got one for a friend at the same time. Not Angus's fault at all but very poor quality from the factory - seems to be a lot of variation. Otherwise I am absolutely chuffed to bits. One warning though - the buckle plate with Hublot on it is glued to the buckle. The screws maybe just dummies here (smells of IWC Ingenieur here). I know this cos of the big lump of glue that had not been removed from one of mine.
  11. Last call for this please ladies and gents - I'm still very surprised at the lack of interest in this especially since the 2836 movt is included. C'mon - this is a must have accessory. I will be closing this on Monday as I need to give the exact number to the printer so he can commence the actual run - don't miss out as I will not repeat this for some time if at all.
  12. The AR coatings done on the inside of a crystal are normally Magnesium Fluoride which is soft and will scratch very easily. Also this type of coat is definitely not suitable for the outside as you have discovered - the tiniest grease mark or fingerprint shows up dramatically. There are coatings suitable for the outside but these are expensive to do (one of the reasons why I have not offered it). As for the BB it is not coated on the outside so you need not worry about that.
  13. Very cool indeed - congrats Admin, superb job.
  14. I emailed the guy and asked him - he says he will look into making this into a gadget for the sidebar - it was created for MAC originally. I have to say that Vista is superb - still one or two buggy issues with compatibility but I love it already.
  15. Oh dear - read this page - it's enough to make you [censored] your pants!! http://www.wmswitzerland.com/en/aboutus.asp
  16. The worrying thing is the numbers they have sold. They had 500 of the Tourbillon which have all sold out tonight!!! A lot of CHAV's out there feeling pretty smart now eh!!
  17. Yeah point taken - I suppose that compared to the cost of a gen a lot of mods is still worth it if the watch is a good quality rep. All my PAM's are as close to real as can be (and all have a Swiss movt the same as the gen) so My PAM 63 which has had the full works is still only a fraction of the price of the gen.
  18. You are right about the fumes but such a tiny dot should not take long to dry. Certainly I would leave it overnight before re-assembling. I only mention Superglue since most people attempting this are likely to have some kicking around.
  19. Well to re-lume the watch has to be stripped down, movt removed, dial and hands removed, lume applied on hands and dial (which is very intricate work and very easy to screw up ruining the watch, then thoroughly cleaned and re-assembled. A watch smith would probably charge around £200 for the equivalent time to do something like this so I think my fees are reasonable for the work involved.
  20. Its how they are describing them that gets me. There's some old bloke with a pseudo Swiss accent (the makers representative) talking about how the first ever wristwatches only had one hand, genuine tourbillon movt etc etc - it's such a load of misleading [censored]! I'm tempted to report them to the Trading Standards Authority - oh er listen to me !!! (25 rep owner!!)
  21. I am shocked - this is digital freeview channel 22 or Sky 634 advertising watches for sale. They also have the webpage with the featured products here: http://www.idealworld.tv/csp/isd/ideal/index.csp They are even saying that the tourbillon is genuine!!! And the Grand Prix chrono has an asian 7750 - not even the 28,800 version for £249 (about $500) - What a scam this is.
  22. Poetry - Art - Beautiful - I'm humbled by your skills as always Rob.
  23. How long have you been here!!! Ahem - I do this sort of thing you know!!!
  24. Anyone know how I could use this for my Windows Vista gadget clock? Anyone else running Vista at all yet?
