  1. I would use something like a toothpick (which won't scratch anything) with a tiny blob of Blu Tac (if you had watch making tools then you would use Rodico which is a non greasy version of blu tac!!) to pick the piece of lume up with and place it into the marker. Tweezers have a danger of crushing it if mishandled!! You could use a tiny drop of super glue just in the centre of the marker then gently place the lume into it.
  2. Count me in too - away from the 1st-6th Feb (NYC here I come!!).
  3. Just wanting to get some idea of how many have been affected by this. I have recently replaced several fiddy crystals and also one watch I returned to a customer arrived shattered. I can see that in some cases air transit might mean the watch is subjected to extreme low temperatures which may be the cause but some members I remember reporting that their watches were just on a table or in a drawer when it broke! There is obviously some fault with them so add your name if it's happened to you please.
  4. Actually those that don't know might think that the oldest member here is less than a year old. That's because most of us had migrated from an older version of the RWG that went [censored] up earlier in 2006 (although it's still going) so some of us have been around for a lot longer than you might think.
  5. Speechless - what a [censored]!! Welcome all those who are welcome I say!
  6. There could be several reasons why this is happening and either way it will need to be looked at by someone who knows this movt. I would ask the dealer to exchange it if you only just got it.
  7. Happy New Year everyone - thanks for all the support you have given me with various projects over the past year and I can honestly say that without the RWG the world would be a sadder place!!!
  8. Angus did ask me to let the boards know that he is having difficulties as a result of the recent earthquake which has affected comms in China/HK so don't expect too many new posts from him at the moment.
  9. I will be very surprised if the rep has the ETA Valgranges movt. I suspect that it will have an asian 7750 modded to look like the Valgranges. I doubt ETA will sell this movt on the open market.
  10. From what I can tell the protoype shown was fitted with an asian 7750 without the chrono features (which is similar to the gen Chopard ETA Valgranges movt) so this must definitely be a lower grade model. Angus told me that the one we want is coming sometime later in the new year.
  11. From that description it is definitely not the one Angus was showing the prototypes of.
  12. Bump up reminder for this as I will be finalising orders at the end of next week - a mile short of original target so no more projects for youse guys for sure!
  13. [censored] me what a bunch of idiots are posting in this thread. Facts - There is only one maker of this watch ok. They will all be the same ok! So Joshua suggested it, Angus refined it and all the dealers will have the same bloody thing - there is no "who has the best BB". Prices will differ slightly because each dealer has their own arrangement with the factory. Enough now - whatever the price we will all get the same bloody watch.
  14. No worries for the questions - the Asian 7750's have datewheels that are printed up to suit the watch. That's why the asian 7750 based PAM's usually have a reasonable datewheel, but the rep makers do not re-print the 7753 datewheels as that means more costs for them on top of an already expensive movt so they just use the standard ETA wheel which of course is the wrong font for a PAM. Incidentally this applies to all the ETA based reps which is why I've also been doing the 2893/2836 etc wheels. About the only exception to this rule is with Rolex reps but even then the rep makers just apply an overlay to the existing ETA wheel as the standard wheel would be so obviously wrong (and in the wrong place).
  15. @Kai - believe me the date is too far out to be able to do anything with it. I have tried but to alter the window is impossible without the risk of ruining the dial. There are no problems with the 7753 based reps as the dials for these are made to match the movt.
  16. Actually I think it's more to do with the fact that ETA are introducing a new range of Chrono movts to slowly replace the 7750 series which are a very old design now. Their new movts are called Valgranges and are only available to brand name makers.
  17. I don't see the point of this post. If you don't like the price then don't buy it - simple. What's the point in bitching about it - do I write an email to Exxon/Shell/BP every time I have to pay $8 for a gallon of unleaded - No.
  18. Wow - this is some heavy [censored] going on here. Personally I have bought 2 BB's from Angus and I'm happy with the price - so what if Andrew or Joshua might be a bit cheaper (and we're not talking a lot here), I guess it depends how many they agree to take from the factory or wholesaler (economies of scale here and Andrew and Josh work together so have more purchasing power). There are many times when one dealer is cheaper for a given watch than another and vice versa - for me it's all about service and after care and frankly all of our dealers give that otherwise none of them would be here. The BB might have been Josh's idea initially but certainly Angus has had a lot of input to the factory to correct small but frustrating flaws and I take my hat off to him for that. There are some things that don't get fixed because it costs more to fix them than to leave as they are - remember that the factories are only in this for profit and they know they will sell no matter what we say. We wise and astute members of RWG/TRC etc are not the only customers of the replica goods - at least we do have the benefit of knowing not to pay $1000 for an asian movt Rollie. Stop worrying about small things - a rep is a rep.
  19. Sorry Kai - this is not possible as the datewheel for the 735 is a bigger diameter which means that the window in the dial is in a different place. Here is a shot of an asian 7750 dial placed on a 7753 movt - see how they don't line up.
  20. I'm surprised at you slay - this has been discussed and answered so many times!! This is why nothing can be done about the sunken date: And this is how ETA do it - see the difference: So unless the asians completely make a new top plate ain't nuttin gonna change!!
  21. Little bump here - surprising how few members actually want them now that they are ready!! I seem to recall a lot more interested parties when I first posted about this - and add to that the fact that they also fit the 2836 movts I am very surprised at the lack of response. Maybe some of you went to an alternative source (I think we know what I mean) - hope you are happy with them. Of course it could just be that some of you are away for the Xmas holidays so perhaps that's why. All this serves to do is to completely discourage me from any more projects for anyone in future.
  22. Dude - notice how much better that dial is.
