  1. PowerShot, where did you get your Patek? If you don't mind me asking. Gorgeous!!!
  2. I noticed that you are in France, there is a watchmaker there that can help you. I would pm fab1973 he's in France and knows a good one you can use. Hope that helps I wish you good luck.
  3. 1560 didn't have date I think, or GMT function, how did they manage that?

    Drooling, don't mind me
  5. You need to post pics of the movement so someone can tell you what you actually have. I sent an email to phong about this exact subject and this is what he replied to me; I was asking him if a 2500$ 1655 was worth getting Adam, I know many sell cheap, but not the one you want, they use 1570 and modify GMT from Viet Nam not original genuine GMT parts, and some time there crystal glue not like my factory spec fit right on and no need glue, and some time bezel fonts is wrong , many thing can be wrong, you know the original movement value original GMT $2750.00 just movement alone, 1570 regular no GMT only cost $1200.00 and you buy GMT original parts put in is cost $1000.00 and hard to find original parts. so good case 1250.00 dial $265.00 hand set $125.00 labor installation and Clean over haul warranty 1 year $400.00 this is truly cost if you add up and I will make some money to stay in business, you need to wait until you have my daytona and find out how my work. many people buy my watch to use it while and resell they make good money, because even collector they look it can not tell. or resell to got same value they purchased I guarantee you if you buy 2750.00 explorer II if you open it to see movement GMT parts is production from Viet Nam not like my. I am sorry I can not match that price but I can do for $4000.00 Best regards, Phong

Well from that view I'd say right one is gen but I can't tell unless I see the profile. Well done they look outstanding. You seem to have it all! I'm jealous, can't seem to kick this Daytona only binge I'm on at the moment

Ya, they will do but they don't have those sexy gen curves
  8. This is a closeup of minh's dial, it has a slight shadow where the subdial sinks.
  9. Yes the minh dial does that was a huge selling point, phongs I have not been able to tell yet but when it comes tomorrow ill report.
  10. This is it if you want it pm me your coordinates, ill send it tomorrow, not sure if its even the one you need...
  11. Awesome, congrats I have an insert ill give you for free, I will never use it
  12. I guess ill let an expert do the painting. Thanks Freddy. I'll update next week when I get the watch back from service. Also, phongs dial will arrive tomorrow, ill show you guys what it looks like but I will be only keeping it aside as a spare.

Mystery, the curve of the case is impossible to find in the rep world, makes it perfect for a serious build.
  14. http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1342439111/FS+rolex+6542+complete+case+and+movement+REDUCED+PRICE For anyone who might be interested this seems like a great deal on a complete gen case caseback, bezel, crown stem and tube, crystal and movement for a 6542. The only thing missing is hands dial and insert.. if I was doing a 6542 build I'd scoop this up.
  15. Amazing Freddy, looks great. Was it hard to paint the markers?
  16. It took 3 days with FedEx but would have been 2 if it didn't fall on a weekend. It was really fast but I specified for him to use FedEx. Well believe it or not when my watchmaker removed the dial and hands he found the movement to be dry and dirty. Those were his exact words. I have to wait a week and spend 300$ now and I have to confront phong about this. Pretty embarasing if you ask me. I wouldn't do that if I were him, its like he took it out of a bin and put it in without servicing it, shameful!
  17. I agree with you it is, but only if my total build was on a budget. I really had no other choice imo after spending 6k on the rest of the watch... The coronet on that one is huge and the printing thick but all in all not bad.
  18. This one just sold at auction for 160k, wow, someone out there thought it was real.
  19. Great info!! Thanks. I know there are problems with this and every other rep pn dial but I chose it because the print was so fine compared to the thicker print of all the others. The spacing of the subdials is off on phongs there's too much space between the subdial and rim of outer dial.. this one had the exact right tiny amount of space I've seen on the supposed gens. I guess what I'm saying is I bought this one because it was the best of what I could have had, others might disagree. I had no idea there was such a debate going on I'm very curious to read up on it thanks again.
  20. Oh ok, you could be right I don't know enough to be sure. Maybe ill have to go spend 4000$ for that new Daytona book and find out.. lol
  21. They're rare but do exist unless this is someone's build this seems to be gen to compare.. its a 6263 but same dial
  22. Thanks chocho, although I shouldn't really take much credit, phong made it for me. Not really that hard to spend $ lol but it was fun. Those watches are fine but almost impossible to add gen parts. If you are happy with knowing you can never upgrade any parts then yes they are quite good. I would personally thin out the case and work the case a bit but that's all I would be able to do. Dw or David Wong or whoever is pretending to be him at the moment,, don't ask long story, has a version for around 350$ that can accept some gen parts and is generally of better quality. I can give you his email if you want. I personally would go that route if I had a limited budget. My 2 cents...
  23. I love the coroner also, only thing that bugs me is the t swiss t is too big or long but I knew that already. ** coronet
  24. Minh is the owner of http://www.vintagewatchesmq.com/ in Vietnam
