Phongs v72 to v727 conversion does use the Microstella adjustment and breguet coil. It's a fact.

Oh ok didn't know that, I read somewhere that Rolex took v72's and added components that upped the beat rate. I never heard of them using a 726 as a base but of course you could be right, either way it made the already tough movement tougher, and with regular service will last me my entire life.

A v72 costs 1000-1200$ yes but the extra dough is to convert it into a v727 just like Rolex did back in the day. Most people don't opt for spending the extra and are happy with a v72 I and obviously this guy were not. To each there own. I don't have any money to lose just to play with

Thanks Freddy, I know these schmucks can't get it right, lol. You would think at these prices that they would have the right colored squares but it seems that they don't. My 1000$ minh dial has silver ones that should be black and this one (600$) has black ones that should be silver! Maybe I should just have a professional swap the markers... Don't even know if that can be done. I did get it serviced, it was 300$ by an old pro.

Pretty close, the pt case looks like a great substitute!
  8. Hey guys I bought this the other day and tried to put it on a perfect clones GMT master but it doesn't use the same assembly. I don't want to glue it on, it kind of goes on but uses a diff system I think. Can anyone tell me which model I should buy and from which dealer, I can't search because I don't know what bezel this is. Pls let me know if you can, thanks
  9. Nice rubberb Freddy, I love those, great for summer
  10. It's actually better in some ways and not so much in others, I'd say they both have really nice dials, I spoke to spin and decided to let him build me the Mayer watch, he can paint the markers for me and install it onto a v72, that will save me a lot rather than give another 5-6k to phong. I'll put this dial in the phong watch as it should be I think.
  11. Looks like someone was vacationing on the sun! Lol, you are burnt! Thanks PowerShot ill grab one too, hell of a nice classy watch.
  12. Ya, I was thinking the same thing. He must know that he facilitates fraud sometimes but shouldn't be bragging about it or suggesting that at all.
  13. And for whoever asked, don't remember who, the phong dials have subdials that are painted on the same level as the main dial and minh's subdials are recessed or sunken.
  14. Yup looks like that's the only sensible thing to do, lol. I'll put the dial away and use it for my next build.
  15. Phongs replacement dial showed up today and boy is it ever sweet, now I don't know what to do.. do I put this one on or the Mayer one,, I don't want to switch dials and hands every 2 weeks,, #*&# now I might have to get my hands on another v727 and case.
  16. Well, I feel bad because I promised my gold plated dw to someone here but I just couldn't help myself. Was inspired by a post the other day of someone making a custom watch. I removed the gold plating but kept the dial and hands the same, swapped for a 6265 bezel also. I have to say, I really like it.
