  1. I'm looking for someone in the easter suburbs, live near bondi/bondi junction
  2. Does anyone have details for the one in the eastern suburbs? Looking to get some work done.
  3. Time lapse showing superlume vs. rep
  4. If you are talking about grinding the outside, here's how I did it... I attached the bezel insert to the end of a drill with a little bit of silly putty. Then I used a diamond stone (used for deburring ski edges) to take it down ever so slightly while the drill was running. This takes a while, but leaves an edge with no burrs.
  5. Again, I'd like to add another "Be Patient" to this list. I ordered a Navitimer from Neil on May 5th and it just arrived today (June 8th) in San Francisco. I'll definitely get some pics up soon. I've placed a few orders with him, and I've never received a confirmation email, or shipping notification, or anything of the sort. I think it's best to just click the buy it now button and try to forget that you ever ordered it. Makes life a lot easier and eventually you'll get a really nice surprise on your doorstop.
  6. Didn't actually watch it, but I would have to say it's pretty amazing to hold your breath for that long... Interesting thing that I saw on wikipedia though, check it out below. wikipedia link
  7. I would agree with this 100%, Don't test drive a 4.4 unless you are willing to buy one. I have a 4.4, test drove both in the same day and realized there was no way I could go for a 3.0. Best car I have ever owned, tons of power , and does great in the snow (with the right tires of course.)
  8. After getting hooked on PAMs a couple months ago, It looks like my girlfriend may be catching the bug too. She was reading Vanity Fair this weekend and spotted these two pictures with no assistance from me. I was impressed...
  9. So, what models are we looking at here?
  10. So, does anyone have an idea of what type of glue/cement might stick to aluminum foil?
  11. contact The Zigmeisterzumba, he will have your answers
  12. Skipping the "A", I'd probably do more harm than good, and 75% of it is covered by the caseback. Good ideas to keep in mind though
  13. One of the things that has bugged me the most about the movement on most panerai reps that I've seen is the shape of the regulator arm. It doesn't help much to have a swan neck if the shape of the regulator arm next to it looks completely different from the gen. It makes it unbelievably easy to spot a rep with a glance at the movement. Here's a comparison if you don't know what I mean... I'm not sure if anyone has already thought of this, but my idea was to create some sort of sticker that could be placed over the arm to come closer to matching the shape. I spent around 5 minutes with some aluminum foil and a razor blade and came up with the following... This is by no means permanent, but just a test to see what it would look like. I'm hoping someone out there might be able to run with this and possibly find a better material or method. Let me know what you think... (Also, I know the "A" is messed up in PANERAI, it came like that. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix it?)
  14. I owe my thanks to The Zigmeister for the superlume, along with a center pin upgrade. Very impressive work, now all I need is a new crown.
  15. This one might help, it's a detail of the last photo (which is after 1 hour in the dark), with shadow adjusted by 2% in photoshop. You start to notice a huge difference with the superlume. I'll try to take a shot in complete darkness in the next few days, that should be even more noticeable.
  16. I used the hacking feature on the other 2 to stop the second hand. When you are using a long exposure the second hand will blur when moving and ruin the picture. The Superlume does last all night, but I wanted to keep exposure consistent for the time lapse. If I adjusted exposure over time (like your pupil adjusts in the dark) you would be able to see a bigger difference. This was done mainly to show how much faster the "standard" lume fades. Woke up around 6 this morning in the dark and was able to read the time without any trouble from about 3 feet away. No way I could do that on the other ones.
  17. The other watches are "stock", only the 111 has super lume. Take a look at the end of the sequence, the 111 is the only one you can see the dial on. There was a tiny bit of ambient light and exposure could have been longer so if I change that you might see a more dramatic effect.
  18. Here is a time lapse animation I took last night showing my 111H which just got back from a super lume job. Took this with some ambient light so it may not do it justice, but you get the idea. You can use this to compare to a LV from Trusty and a PO from TTK
  19. Man, it seems like a shame to have such a boring championship to cap off one of the most exciting tournaments in the last few years. Congrats to the Gators though
  20. Haven't opened it up, but according to Andrew it was the latest 21J, haven't tried pressing in the pearl yet... Do you have any more info on how to do it, what tool to use, etc? The pearl is flush with the ring, but it looks like you can easily tell the gen is inset.
  21. Yes, the bezel is different and it is different between the 42.5 and 45mm gen. Take a look at the shot of the gens side by side and you can see the differences in the shape of the edge (spacing and scalloping). Also note that neither one of the reps really gets this right. The closest I've seen is Andrew's 4th gen. It seems to be close to the 42
  22. Just recieved Trusty's 45mm PO (black) on Tuesday and took some pics side by side with the TTK 3rd Gen PO (orange). Not sure if I'm going to keep both of them yet though. We may see one up for sale/trade on Monday. Dial seems better on TTK's and I prefer the bezel on TTK's as well. (Note the size of the silver ring on the bezel, thicker on the orange) Another thing that seems off on the 45mm is the date font, some of the numbers are a completely different font from others on the wheel. Weight is pretty similar (TTK is .1oz heavier according to my junky postal scale). One downside of the TTK version is the pearl, it looks like an anthill while Andrew's is pretty flat (but not inset). Overall I prefer TTK's with ETA, but for the price Andrew is selling his for it's a great bargain. Finally a gen black 45mm vs a gen Orange 42.5
