  1. Same issue is being discussed in RG right now..... They're trying to decide if it is the forum member of the same name and spelling (using an e and not an o). Will be interesting if said member makes any statement in RWG or RG, or not....... Seems this person is trying to promote selling reps, as in RG they've translated the German into something like "I paid
  2. gen has recessed sub dial round seconds. There seem to be no rep dials with that. There are 2 types of rep dial: a- 12 dots too far apart, L Swiss Made L, font more correct to gen b - 12 dots close like gen. Swiss Made (no L or T), font slightly off to gen. Nothing else. Only option is agen dial and they are v.expensive and v.hard to come across. You'd need to post pics to let people help more.
  3. Hmmm 3 votes for double; 2 for single, and the option of a brillo pad solution against double if I don't like it........ I'm checking with Jakub for his view as well. Pics of single might help. I usually try to go with accuracy. However, I feel here there will only be a real visible benefit in going for double....... Any more views? Or even better, comparison pics (aside from the ones in K222's area)?
  4. 2 votes for single AR, 1 for double..... Any more opinions/ photos??????
  5. Hello again....... Can you post any before and after pics with the single AR on a black faced PAM? I tend to go more for accuracy also.....but I just wanted to try to compare.
  6. Hi all. Have decided to take advantage of K2222's AR service, and first baby is on it's way (PAM250). However I still haven't decided if I should go for single or double AR. As I understand (and I could be wrong here): * Single AR = closer to gen (they have single) BUT results not as spectacular * Double AR = results as per all the photos / threads (spectacular) BUT not as per gen. My PAM is in the post on it's way as we speak, so I can finalise with K2222 before it arrives. Anyone have experience of results of single sided AR on PAM's ? What's the general opinion of which way to go on this?? Thanx
  7. Good to see you back Ziggy. I think Relumer = Fleed? Not V.Nice that he stole your text... Can you shed any light on Noctilum vs. Tritec Superlume ? I seem to remember from other threads it's inferior both in performance and aslo application..
  8. Who is Crippler when he's at home????? and again; anyone able to specify the differences between Nocti Lumina and Super Luminova ?
  9. No-one heard of him before? Anyone explain all the differences between Super Luminova and Nocti Lumina ? Seme to remember having read something like Nocti was inferior as it has larger particles (grains), and so finish isn't as smooth as Super Lume. Might explain that some pics show lumpy lume. However other pics in the gallery look quite good..... Views, opinions, experience, confessions..... We all know who the master(s) is(are). However another 'reliable' EU option wouldn't go amis.
  10. What happened with NAVI I put down to experience in this game........ just a shame he didn't have the courtesy to reply and work out a fix on my UPO. Especially since I had to wait +5 months to get them back, and in a poor state, and during which countless mails, calls and SMS's ...... even with his health issue...... Still - someone else has it now for a project build that sounds v.nice. I ended up buying a second hand gen. Re. the relumer in Spain; going through the galleries I think he does work on reps. Why else would there be PO's in there - can't see gen. owners sending him watches when the model is only a few years old. Plus from the pics I see the Omega logo is the UPO one with curled up feet....so I think it's safe to bet he does. However from the pics I'm more concerned on the application quality. Looks lumpy, but this I think is to do with the Lume he's using. Nocti Lume is known to have bigger sized 'grains' or particles. Super Luminova is finer, and also more difficult to apply. Also the colours available are different. Maybe someone will be brave to try him and post on the results.... Will be interesting to see if he's a forum member and speaks up. Also if he's branching out to use Super Luminova, and some pics of more recent work to see how his hand is improving.
  11. Ahh - see that NAVI is still up to his tricks. The UPO I finally got back was ruined. And when I sent him an SMS to say so, and at the same time ask how he was (due to his health issues), I never got any reply. See he's still active in RepGeek though...... Guys - check this out as an EU alternative.......I've posted here to see if anyone knows him/has experience. some pics look v.good. others a bit lumpy.....so lets see everyone's opinions first.... http://www.the-relumer.com/index.htm
  12. Found this...... http://www.the-relumer.com/index.htm Seems to be an enthusiast...maybe even someone here (hola - estas ahi?????) Anyone heard of him / tried him? Pics look interesting, although Nocti Lume isn't Super Luminova (unless I'm mistaken). PO and another looks a wee bit 'lumpy', but good finishing. Thoughts??????
  13. LAZ - get the 114. It'll save us all this debate
  14. And here's the next photo from the same site: and the link http://www.panerai.com/s_dett_prodotto.xpd...;id_dettaglio=1 showing again the outline of the recession. Go to an AD and look at a gen - the recession is clearly visible. Problem is capturing it in a photo. Same as on black dials - the reps have recessions (eg PAM250), but the gen shows them much more clearly: But even in a photo, they're hard to see on a gen.....and on the 113 you clearly see (on the gen) concentric rings (like they've been machined) that when tilted pick up the light.
  15. Interesting - as the one I saw in an AD in Barcelona clearly did have seconds recession. Definately a 113, but seconds recession with the clear rings. Made a huge difference to the visual aspect of the watch. And I'd consulted this point with several members in PM's / e.mails: the concensus seemed to be that gen did have seconds recess, but rep didn't. Oh well - any other views on this?? Just did a google and found that image. But also this. If you blow up you'll see the outline of the second recession - hard to see, but V.clear on a gen even in an AD window.
  16. Hi Laz. I have a 113 just back from VAC and am delighted overall, except 2 things that are common to this model. (1) dots at 12 are too far spaced apart - should be very close (2) the seconds should have a recessed, ringed subdial. Unfortunately it seems no rep dials have the seconds recession, and I've not found a source for the dial with the 12 dots closer together. If you can live with these 2 points, I'd suggest the 113. Otherwise 114. Try contacting VACUUM - he may be able to point you in the right direction for a good one built. Thing about DSN models is that the dimensions are not always correct to gen. And QC is iffy.....
  17. HI all. Young son has been playing with a couple of my PAM's, and has managed to bend the spring bars in the deployments of 2. Anyone have any spares?????? Or know where to get them other than dealers - had tried one but was told I needed to buy complete strap and deployment.... All help greatly appreciated...
  18. The website shows current models, not ones maybe made in the past. That said - I have a gen black face SMP. When I bought it there was only that model available - big bezel numebrs, sword hands, larger hour indices etc. I don't think Omega ever made a Bond SMP type in black, although there was a thread that they may do so now in a special edition version. Anyone know better???
  19. I have the same. I bought a 7753 196 from Trusty earlier this year. What arrived looks the same. A 196 with slight subdial recessions. The 250 has subdial recessions. After exchanging with Trusty we came to a satisfactory arrangement. I still have the watch. My theory is that the factory making the 196 and 250 basically uses the same base dial. Then just changes the printing overlay between the 196 (all the numbers) and the 250 (12 and hour bars, and less subdial markers). A bit lazy..... I'm waiting for one of our fellow members to develop a project for 196/250 dials...... When they're available (or a gen dial) I'll make the change. Meanwhile I had the 196 SuperLumed (couldn't stand the rep lume - zero), and I can live with the recessions. Actually you can hardly see them normally. Something that on the 250 annoys, as on a gen PAM subdial recessions (including seconds) are very, very noticable. Not well done on reps.
  20. Right. Risking getting shot down here. I have a 7753 PAM 250. Problem is it has TACHYMETRE on the bezel (like the 196), when it should be TACHYMETER. In the past I've been told that there is an Asian 7750 version with the correct TACHYMETER spelling. I'd asked previously if a bezel can be changed, and was told by several people that NO. So - new question. Can a 7753 movement be put successfully into a case for an Asian 7750? If I can get hold of a correct case ie with correct bezel TACHYMETER, can I transplant the movement and dial from the 7753? Date change pusher will work? What to watch for??
  21. I've followed this and previous threads over Mark and what was happening. My 2p worth - and in his favour. I had 3 PAM's with Mark last year for work. 2 Daylight re-lumes and a 127 cannon pin fix. I got nervous when communications broke down, but this was early on and not at the height of events. The work took lmuch onger than originally agreed, but the watches did all come back and basically all fine. I have the 250 getting a small touch-up right now, but overall fine. I did get sporadic messages in reply to my badgering mails and sms's., And in the replies Mark made personal comments over what was happening in his life. I'm not justifying Mark's silence, but in real life things do go wrong, and depression is an awful illness. If you haven't suffered it, you've no idea. If that is really the core of what has happened to Mark, then I do feel for him. And peoples actions when suffering depression, are not always logical and rational to others. Attempts are made to get aware from the sources of the problem, and can be made in seemingly strange ways. I have no right here to make comments on other people's experiences, and I won't do that. I'll just state that in my case, everything worked out. And if Mark is able and in a condition to resolve open issues with those affected, and he does that, then perhaps we can move on..
  22. Afternoon.... In the end I purchased an insert off the bay. It looks OK, but doesn't sit perfectly recessed inside the bezel itself. So it sits close to the top rather than in. The pearl was rubbish - a perfectly round blob that had zero glow. At present the watch is with a modder for SuperLume to dial and hands, and a go at getting the pearl into a reasonable condition. I should have it back in a week or so, and will try to post pics or at least write up how it went. I was still keen on a gen bezel set, but have been told from numerous sources that it won't work on the UPO. Cheers
  23. Hi. Looking for the casenumber of the gen SMP - full size, standard blue face. It's for reference for getting gen parts. Done a search here but couldn't find it. Can anyone help ? NO takers ??? I've done a few searches but only come up with model numbers, not case numbers. No one able to help here ??
  24. Hi - don't think so. I have an old gen blue midsize. It's just over 36mm including the bezel. The full size SMP is 41mm including bezel. The crono diver is listed as 41.5mm Maybe that's the difference. One for SMP and one slightly bigger for SMP crono. Anyone can verify that ?
