i think about it as "How many days will I have to adjust the minute hand"
If it's a watch you plan on wearing everyday then and adjustment every 3 days to me is too much.
I'm okay with an adjustment once a week usually because I rarely wear a watch that often as I usually change the rotation sooner.
Thanks - I know what you mean, and I actually agree.
But at the same time, I think the QC specs are there for a reason, and the movement should be consistent to them.
Does anyone know what is the acceptable accuracy tolerance for a 7750 movement?

The problem is that the hue of the ar is too blue. It is double sided. And no, the datewheel will never be fixed. You need to install eta datewheels.
Oh, I didn't realize that. So does the gen have colorless AR?
-
I know that this has historically been one of the better IWC reps, but there were a couple glaring flaws - the date font and the lack of AR coating.
I know that most dealers coat the crystal double-sided with AR now (at least that's what it says on the website). Has anyone purchased it recently who can confirm this?
Has the date font issue been fixed as well?
Thanks.

Guys, FYI here is a shot of my gen 3717 (from an IWC AD) next to an all-rep one on the left.
Nice comparison shot. It's really 99% of the way there I think. Difficult to tell unless you have them side by side.

Looks fantastic!
But is the datewheel supposed to be so sunken and misaligned?
The steel bezel version has a matte black dial, right?
-
What a review, well done!

Thank you sir for that info... does it apply to the 42mm 5th gen as well? Or are those not as mass produced and accurate?
I always wondered this as well. The term UPO seems to usually apply to the 45 version.

How about the new 111 recently released?
-
What a great place to be a part of.

Very nice watch, and picture. How does the pearl compare to the gen?

Hey guys, I recently ordered a PAM328 with 7750 movement. The QC calibration came back with an accuracy of +20s/d. That seems high to me, even for a rep. But I thought I'd check here.
What do you think?

Meh, as the current Navi is a Tricompax design, it will never be perfect because of the sunken datewheel issue. Aside from the datewheel the current rep isn't that bad. Remember, this rep has been out for about six years now and the gen has been unchanged for about eight years. I am fairly certain that the gen Navi will be updated soon, probably with a B01 movement, so that will probably be when the factories begin work an what will probably be the first really decent Navitimer. Its a shame because if they just did a custom datewheel and added decent AR, the current model would be far more tempting to more people.
I agree, sort of like what they did on the ultimate PO.
The sunken date wheel really stands out too much for me.

Looks good.

how is the lume and does this have the roler CG lever?
Can someone help me understand what the rollerball lever is? Thanks.
-
Iconic? The Navitimer has been around for over 50 years, the Skyland came and went in about two years.
Seriously? I wish there was a better rep of the Navitimer...

My SS Ceramic should be delivered today and the all RG on Monday.
I believe so...the only difference is the bezel and dial
Really? What's the difference in the dials between the steel and ceramic versions of the Evolution - I believe they should both be matte black?
BTW, congratulations on your incoming HBBs!

Thats my post between the H-maker 111M vs. Noob new 111M
But You want to know the difference between The old Noob 111J and the new Noob 111M?
First: I dont think that the 111J is made any more, maybe You could pick up a used one?
But the main differences Noob 111J vs. Noob 111M are:
Improved crystal with much better AR
Improved lume. The 111J had real crappy lume. The 111M have great lume!
Platinum plated movement
Changed the printed dial text colour to a more creamy one
Much better lugg screws that are flush on both sides.
111M got a different strap notch.
That al I can think of on top of my head, but I'm sure there is more
Good info, thanks. Sounds like these are mostly improvements on rep quality.
Actually, I was more interested in whether there were any major design differences between J and M series? Even for gens?

Here you go. Thats an 005k on the left.
My wrist is 6.8"
Great comparison shot - this helps a lot.

Feeling bored on a saturday, and i have been wanting to try some photography shots on my new 359M. It has been relumed by Goin. CG lever also tightened and snaps back like the gen. Enjoy the pics
Excellent pictures. The D90 is a great camera.

I think personal preference comes in here too. I have both, I like them both but, everything else being equal, I'd choose the Navitimer. Why? I like math and the circular slide rule appeals to me. It was designed as a flight computer for pilots. I'm a pilot. So, while the Avenger might be a more accurate rep, personal preference makes me choose the Navitimer.
Having said all that, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Skyland Avenger.
I agree. And while I could be wrong about this, my feeling is that the Navitimer is a little more iconic? More people would probably instantly recognize it as a Breitling.
I'm also concerned that the Avenger may be a little too bulky - 45mm with a thick bezel.
-
Excellent write-up. I didn't realize this watch was so big!
-
Skyland is by far repped more accurately. However, the Navitimer is a very decent rep, its main flaws being a sunken date wheel, wrong date font, and misaligned slide rule, and lack of AR. Even though the Skyland is near perfect, I tend to wear my Navitimer more often simply because it is a far more comfortable watch. If you are planning to wear this watch daily, you might find that the Skyland is a bit too top heavy and bulky. On rubber or leather its a bit more comfortable but its still a big, thick chunk of steel. If you have multiple watches and are going to wear this one on occasion, definitely go with the Skyland.
Great breakdown, Andrew, this helps a lot. Any other Breitling model you'd recommend? Which one of the two is the more "iconic" model?
-
Skyland all the way. One of the nicest reps done, imho. Review of v2
Thanks for the input By-Tor.
what would be the faults I should look out for in the Navitimer reps?
-
Thanks guys,
I didnt take that pic but I was excited to have a wristie of the Joshua PAM 111M. I have compared pics sise by side to the gen, every screw and engraving in the movement is dead on, of 12 reps I have bought this by far is the best...kudo's to Josh.

Any comment on the AR coating for this version?
