Thanks, more pics:
Very nice. How's is the date window and date wheel? Looks pretty close to gen.
-
As a side note, there is now a replica with a correctly shaped trapezoid date window instead of the cartel square window.
That's great. Do you know if they've also started using a more similar font, too?
-
It's a fantastic rep .. get the AR done and hey .. why not lume .. and enjoy it.
I was under the impression that there were a few problems. Crown too big, 3 6 9 12 too small, and date font. But that comparison was also from a while ago. Have those been fixed?

It's hard to tell from these photos, but does the Tag logo have the arrowed G?
-
yes, gen. has double ar ,the gen thickness is 15.75 and rep is 16.5 so it's realy not that much thicker
Well, if it's really that close then no problem. I think it was originally nearly 19 thickness?

Have a read and edumacate yourself:
Thanks for this, it's a great link.
Still unsure, however, whether Trusty's "green" Nautilus is the correct color for the blue dial Nautilus.

Also, isn't the Jumbo supposed to be 43mm?

Does anyone know off the top of your head whether the gen movement beats at 28800?
-
I think most people would say- 288.
PS- Yay me; half way to power max. Should be there by 2015!!
214 is nice too, same movement. I can't think of how many times I'd need split seconds, even with a gen.
-
Thanks, buddy. But actually I was asking if black existed for gens. But I've found it - it's the 3711.
Do you know which one is the rep version for the 5711 blue dial, though? Trusty has a version that looks like it might be similar, but they have it listed as "green"?
-
I think it looks great, congrats!
-
Yes black
and its very nice!
Really? I haven't been able to find it - is it under a different model number?
-
New Nautilus rep. Obviously a rep of the newer jumbo, but it looks really nice. NIce datewindow placement.
The movement isnt going to fool anyone for long thou. Too bad they cant redo the plates behind the rotor or something.
But it sure looks nice
:thumbsupsmileyanim:
Looks like that one is not available anymore.
-
Cannot wait for this one to be released:
Isn't the blue dial the only one that is available on gen?
-
Great comparison.
I wonder why they decided to use such a strange font for the date? It seems that the one used on the gen is easier rep...?

Looks really, really good.

This is the "supposed" 1:1 from Joshua.
It's very, very good apart, obviously, from the movement.
I bought it on rubber and bought the bracelet from another member, but quite like it on either.
I would agree with mbjoer about paying the extra for a bit higher quality and I also agree that, nice though it is, I wouldn't like to drop £11k+ on a gen.
Thanks for your input. I think I'm starting to "get it". The higher end replica really does have minor differences from the less expensive ones. And as we all know, the details are everything.
I'm also weighing this against the Aquanaut's older cousin, the Nautilus 5711. There are also a few versions, with the top end version offering a great SW200 movement. But it seems that the model only comes in either a black or grey dial. I've only ever seen the gen come in a blue dial. Can someone tell me if I'm missing something here?
Thanks.

I'll admit, I'm on the fence about this one. I love the design, but the datewheel, thickness, and AR (does the gen have double AR?) seem to keep me on the fence.
Did those factors bother you at all?
-
Excellent shots! This model is probably the king of all Tags.
Does anyone know if the thickness has been improved to be closer to the gen since the OP posted this thread (almost 2 years ago)?
Also, does the gen also have double-coated AR?
-
Nice write-up, and will certainly help many people make a decision on this rep. Thanks!
-
Wow this looks amazing, lots of attention to detail. Congratulations!
So after 3 weeks, any differences you notice from the gen?
-
Thanks everyone for the help. Here's the Navitimer:
Definitely gen, what a beauty. Congrats!

Ah, that's too bad then. Although I thought the gen font was actually more similar to the ETA...
