Help me out, boys. I'm on the fence between the two models as they are both amazing, good reps, and look great. I know they are different styles, and I'll probably end up having both, but I'm trying to decide which to get first.
Anyone have either one, both, or just want to voice your opinion? Let's hear it!
-
Either from Josh or Andrew. Anyone have these models - how are they?
Any major problems or flaws with either of them?
Also, given the same approximate price, which would you get?
-
The other flaw I can find right now looking at the pictures on trusty's website vs. the gen is the length of the subdial hands, the hands should go all the way to the edge of the subdial, they look a tad short in the rep. Also the pearl isn't centered and is a tad to low and touching the edges of the triangle. Besides that I don't see anything else other than what's been mentioned already in this thread.
Didn't even notice those before. Thanks for pointing them out.

I'm probably going to buy this one...
-
Very cool stuff.

Submariner with a GMT bezel insert. Wrong crown position. Dial marker surrounds are too big. Minute hand is too short. Horrible bracelet with solid mid links. Wrong stampings. Fugly clasp. Among other things........
OK, thanks.

2ReplicaWatches.com......Does anyone know anything about this site??? trusted???
Haven't heard of them. Probably safer to stick with the trusted dealers.

Nice straps.

As far as i know there has only ever been one version of the Ingy, I dont know what you see wrong with the AR?
looks the same to me
Oh, I thought you mentioned the gen is double coated while the rep is single coated?
-
Excellent comparison, Andy. I was about to post a thread asking for advice on the rep Ingy, so I'm glad I came across your post first.
I may very well have to pick one of these watches up!
Do you know if some of the minor flaws you mentioned have been fixed in the latest Ingy rep - things like the shorter hands, the double AR, the date window, caseback, etc.?

I think is going to be difficult. In the big scheme of flaws it is one of the lesser ones. It will be difficult to rectify because even if you reshape the underlying metal shape you still have to get the rubber to wrap tight to show the different shape. Here are a pair of Ap's - one with gen and the other with rep pushers.
And here are the pushers (gen):
Great shots. Wow, I had no idea there was this difference.
But then again, in the grand scheme of things, I think this rep has really come a long way if this is one of the few (small) flaws.
-
How can you tell it is fake?
No, seriously...I'm still learning.
-
No the thicker movement comes from the day wheel complication. Pinion height is not taken into consideration when a movement is measured
Right, thanks Andy.
-
I must say, though, that the caseback engravings and bracelets are done pretty well.
-
A lot of the inconsistencies were fixed but a stripped crown can happen on any watch including a Genuine watch if you aren't careful with the crown. It's not as hard as it sounds, just simply be a tad patient with the crown and don't force it onto the watch, just nice and gentle.
Right.
So can anyone tell me regarding the updated red version, are there any other glaring flaws on the rep version?
-
No. Faux split seconds pusher
So both second hands move together?
-
Not really my style, but good for you!
-
Excellent pictures. So does the split second feature work on this one?
-
A 2836 has also longer cannon pinions for the hands, because of the day date option.
That makes it easier to fit Dial and hands.
They are shorter on a 2824.
Right...resulting in the thicker movement. Thanks.

Ah, the old "sorting center" frustration. Good luck!
Whatcha got incoming?

Great stuff here.

@PNN
The date wheel thing is basically the gap between the side of the watch face and the edge of the date wheel. On the rep the date wheel is virtually touching the side of the watch and on the real one there is about a 1.5mm offset. See pic below: The red arrow shows the area that is smaller on the rep.
Has anyone managed to mod the pushers yet? Maybe swapped them to gen? The pushers on Rep ROO’s always seem to have the wrong radius on the round. ?? See Blue circles on pic below:
Thanks again for all the tips chaps
Awesome - this is exactly what I was trying to find out. Thanks for pointing out these differences to me.
On the other hand, though, I must say I was a little disappointed to find out that the "ultimate" version still had some minor flaws...

I'm actually looking forward to the non-chrono one a little more than this chrono rep. But I have to agree, this new chrono looks sexier than the previous model.
