  1. Yeah i know Mr A,  but how would i know what model or style it is ?

Mate, if you look at the picture, you would immediately know what style it is if you know your GP series.

It has red accents, which means it belongs to the one with the red dial. The gold and the platinum dial ones use the same straps I think, without the red accents.

The pictured strap can only be ONE type. He already said it was a GP strap, and with the red accents, it is very clear which model it is.

You could actually use any of the GP straps, but honestly, mate, the red one would fit the best from an aesthetic point of view. :)

  2. Ask them you'll send them the watchesif they promise to stuff everything up where the sun don't shy and run a full marathon with them stuffed inside without looking like a limping ostrich with diarrhea and without dropping a single thing out of their asses. If they manage to complete the marathon (video evidence all the way of course), send them the $350 and I will throw in another $350.

Else you could photocopy your middle finger and send it to them.

Or just ignore them entirely, the crooks.

  3. Great picts! Just wondering is the crown height and depth of the DW as an issue for this model like all 42mm roo offshore models.

To me, that screams "I'm rep! I'm rep!" with sirens blaring and orchestra music accompanying.

But on the wrist its hard to tell without staring at it.

    ;)

    Very funny young J.

To me, the DW depth difference is there yes, but indiscernable on the wrist for the 44mm.

Actually mate, to me, the greatest difference between the gen and rep for this model, is the $20k price difference. ;)

  4. Hey W,

Thanks for sharing! No matter which gen and its rep counterpart is scrutinized, there will always always be differences. :)

But often, we forget that a lot of these differences are always magnified when highlighted and discussed in a forum like this. When on the wrist, they are not easy tells a lot of the time!

There are of course obvious flaws in some replicas, that just scream "I'm rep! I'm rep!" with sirens blaring and orchestra music accompanying, but I would say that despite the differences, this is a very good rep and a good effort by the manufacturer. :)

  5. Can you use APBands 18mm buckles on standard Roo rubber straps (i.e. Not APB straps?)

In case I didn't want to use deployant. The holes are just sooo small on the 18mm rubbers. Not sure if APB in house-straps have larger buckle holes?

Yes, the APB buckles would fit on standard rubber straps, rep or gen. :)

  6. I do apologize for posting MD2020's real name and address. I should have PMed instead.

It is hard not to be angry and get a little vindictive and mean after what he has done. Nevertheless, two wrongs don't make a right, and vigilante behavior does not improve the situation here.

So my apologies mods. I got a little carried away.

  7. Hello and welcome!

That is a nice first post, especially when it would be inevitably compared to the first post of whatshisname demanding to know where the good replica rolex and all the pretty horses are!

Essentially, pick a trusted dealer here and do your search.

Try www,p-cls.com, www, pureti.me, kingwatch.cz.cc... the choices are plenty, take your pick. They carry the same watches mostly, made at the same factory. So don't worry about the same watch from dealer x being inferior to the one you see at dealer y.

Once again, welcome and enjoy your stay here!

  8. @endshake

We will never agree upon the fake watch business, or the fake watches in general. But since I'm here I will stick around for a while as I'm impressed by the knowledge some of you guys have about watches.

The FWB is now closing down his IG account before IG does it. The reason for IG to close his account is all the reports they've got the last couple of days. Mostly from a jeweller in NYC, because he busted them selling fake watches. Very expensive fake watches that is, and they probably sell some of them to people believing it's genuine. (this jeweller also have genuine watches)

This was his third account and he didn't tag the people he busted this time. But a lot of his followers did. And they also harassed the guys on their accounts. That's not good. And as you said, a lot of his followers - probably most of them - does not have any knowledge of wathes at all. There was even a guy who commented the strange crown on a Rolex-cake. Can you believe that. If you don't see it's a cake you should probably not be commenting :fool:  If the FWB comes back - and I believe he will - I don't think he will show the identity of the people he busts at all. I hope he'll be back to educate people and by that helping them not to be scammed by "serious" watch dealers selling fakes. I think that's a good thing.

The FWB has a tremendous knowledge of watches and I bet even some of you guys in here must admit he's good at spotting those fakes. Early on in this thread someone mentioned that he would have a problem spotting some of the replicas you have in here. I'd be happy if you posted a link to some of those. And please, don't post a picture of a genuine  ;)

Your post is quality, and compared with your earlier ones, a very reasonable, well-put and welcomed one.

It does not matter which side of the camp you are on, as long as you debate and post with class.

Nobody will shoot you down as long as your post is not odious or asinine in nature. Please, stay on and grow in knowledge with the rest of us. That is an invite.

You will find that guys who collect replicas are essentially normal, everyday folks much like you, and not people who hold AK-47s in one hand and a smoking cigarette in the other, squinting into the sun in the hills of Afghanistan with turbans blowing in the harsh winds. No sir. ;)

Coming from a guy who is in both the genuine and replica watches forums, I can tell you that there is a plethora of horological knowledge and passion here at RWG, and happily, a lot less snobbery and pretensions.

There is knowledge and talent here that you just do not find anywhere else in the world. I am proud to call RWG home, and I hope you would too, one day. :)

  9. any one of a good reliable site for rolex replicas?

Nobody is going to help you, because:

    a. Its your first post and you are asking a question which has been asked approximately 19,387,941 times before, give or take.

    b. The search button is still working when I checked about 26 seconds ago.

    c. No introduction, no pleasantries, but just a demand for an answer. Nobody is your butler or encyclopedia around here.

    d. Lastly, you strike me as a guy who does not know how to say please or thank you, and one of the "ask and disappear" garden variety.

So please, pardon me, if I tell you that I do not care very much for your question or the answer to your question.

Good luck to you, there will be guys more patient than me. One might just come along soon. ;)

  10. 99% sure haha..and in case you fail I am sure you know a watchmaker close to you how is skilled a little bit better :p I will send you the video tutorial later..afterwards you can't fail it ;)

    thanks Sputim!

I will do my best.. but hey, first I need to get that TC V6 Sub! :D

  11. As soon as my Tissot is sold I will order one :)

Both questions yes. Gen insert fits the tc v6 perfectly. I didn't need to shave it nor did I had to usw a crystal press. It poppws right in qith my fingers.

Since Tc v6 is 100% gen construction you only need to slide something like a thin blade (be careful to not scratch the lugs, use stickers to protect it) and pop the bezel up. I will send you a youtube link how to diy. Should not be a problem for you at all :)

    And thank you once again!

My fingers got the IQ of an idiot, you sure I can do it? :D

  12. Oh mr A. I will order a safari soon and I already now about the pusher and date window inaccuracy but don't spoil me more since I can't afford do franken my ap at Domi ;) I want it only serviced and AR'd by him ;) The more we know, the more we get spoiled. For me that's exactly the fun but some reps I enjoy as they come and other like my tc v6 I want to brinh to perfection.

The best tell for an insert is the pearl. For the 16610 for instance the gen pearl is covered by saphir glass and this is made just perfectly! Vintage caddell insert is the closest with regard to the pearl but the insert is slightly bent which is an inaccuracy. If it comes to the bezel assembly it gets extremely difficult since every new serial rolex deviates slightly. The earlier models had shallower and less defined bezel teeths while newer versions are deeper. For me I won't change it on my tc v6 which resembles a y-series and is very very close. Compared with my gen z-series 16610lv i really cant spot a difference. So as long as the quality is good I don't see it as a tell since there are too many gen variances. Some people admire clark's insert and other like the startime bezel that is pretty defined and deep. For me tc's bezel assembly is awesome but the sel fitment is often not great. Compare some gen sel's with tc ones. The endlinks should be sunken which is not really the case with the v4 93250. The v5 seems very promising and I order one soon :)

Thank you very kindly for sharing! I certainly more from your one post than from scouring google reading about all the "tells", model numbers, and generations of Rolexes and their differences. As for the Safari, it is a beautiful watch for sure and I am sure you will adore it upon its return from Domi!

Once again thanks for teaching me regarding the Rolex Bezel inserts.. I have two questions please:

    a. Can I just buy a genuine insert and put it onto a rep Sub from, say, TC?

    b. Are you able to change the insert yourself? What kind of tools are required please?

    Thank you!

  13. Probably yes, since some months ago a 116610 noob v1 was sold on the bay for 6k and hey the v1 was pretty bad..but for me most rolex reps need serious moding. You must know very very much about AP's what I can't claim but I believe AP reps are better otb reps than most rollies..all the newer ceramic versions can be spotted easily by there insert which is way off. But most good reps are compatible with gen parts and that makes it very interesting especially for vintage rollies with its great market for aftermarket parts :)

I think that most OTB AP ROO reps are decent, but instant tells after you know the flaws. ;)

Can you please teach me how to spot a fake bezel please? Thank you kindly!

  14. Basically a good article for people with no or very few knowledge about rolex. I guess this article prevented many from buying reps sold at gens at the bay or other auction platforms. Nevertheless, it's not a good guide to spot a franken rollie ;)

Or even a good rep actually. ;)

  15. http://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/rolex-info/the-top-ten-ways-to-spot-a-fake-rolex.html

Ok, going by the things this guy wrote, a lot of the Rolex we see here are genuine.

I think you guys know a lot more about spotting a fake Submariner than this guy.

Most of the rep movements would of course be a tell, but on the wrist, I think its very difficult, at least for a Rollie Noob like me.

Please pardon me for this post, I have recently started being interested in Rolex and am doing my due research.

Please be patient with me, and give me a chance to learn. ;)

    L

  16. Very close, but movement on watch on the right is gen. Balance wheel is at 7:00.

They look very close from the front.

What about the crown differences? I looked at the 505 about 2 months back and seen the differences in the crown shapes.

The gen ones seem to be "flatter" at the top of the crown, but it could be variance in batches?

I am not a PAM expert but this was one of the models I took a fancy to. :)
