  1. Everything about the upgrade is good, but I am strongly against this new promotion of sex and sex imagery. The internet is full of sex; I get it in e-mails, popups, banner ads, you name it. RWG is where I go to talk with good friends about good watches, not to unleash my deepest desires of romance and bikini contests. Granted, I know there are members who will want a section like this, but I personally do not see a need.

    Oh well.

Congratulations on a successful update and "environmentally conscious" green design!

  2. I purchase a TT deville from Narikaa for one of my family members. It is an excellent watch. The payment method was also very very easy... if you know what I mean!

Personally if you want a watch that gets noticed there is nothing like Rolex. May I suggest a two-tone 14K wrap datejust from Joshua? How about a two-tone 14K wrap or even standard stainless steel Daytona? Daytona's are getting rarer here on the forums, everyone is scared s--tl--s of those movements, but if you pay for the servicing it may just pay off!!

If you want something that will get you noticed "explosively" and live in a cultured part of the world, try one of Joshua's Patek Philippe Chronometers. Some are unusually accurate to their genuine counterparts - but don't cost anywhere near $60,000 !

Good luck, I'm sure whatever you get... you will want more!

  3. Although all of my watches are stunning, because I select them very carefully and do a lot of research on their quality and accuracy before buying, I cannot tell you how utterly gorgeous my DayDate is. The thing is so sleek and looks absolutely magnificent. The way the fluted bezel catches the light, reflecting it panoramically across the walls whenever I raise my arm to check the time, the way the sapphire crystal glows in a gentle rainbow when the light hits it just the right way, the staying up until midnight to watch as the magnificent movement flips the day and date instantaneously, the juxtaposition of brushed and polished gold and the bracelet, the magnificent sparkle made by the little golden Rolex crown emblem on the botom of the watch... all the way to its enchanting "gold-everything oil tycoon" majesty, its a watch I save only for the most special occasions.

It is now almost one year old, and while some of the gold has started to peel on the inside of the bracelet, it a minor inconvenience compared to its overall beauty. I just wish a rep manufacturer could make a version with a triple thick layer of 18K gold on it, I would gladly have paid the extra money for it... thick gold is very very helpful, as my new TT submariner has taught me. I guess I have some special feelings towards it because it is my very first rep, and we have been through so much together, but the watch itself cannot be compared to anything else. It's immortal design is one of the most copied and imitated by other manufacturers, but I believe that every serious watch lover should have a daydate Rolex. They are magnificent.

  4. They don't build houses like they used to. There is a reason people fight over these old homes... the new one's they're making these days are all cardboard... even the really expensive ones I see going up are built with the same crap materials as the houses put up for welfare communities here....

The only way to get a solidly constructed place to live these days is to either oversee construction privately from scratch with a reputable builder or get an older house to renovate.

  5. Even though I'm not a big fan of TTK, I have to agree that the actions of this individual are absolutely despicable... a permanent ban from all replica watch message boards would be a step in the right direction... but what would prevent him from smartening up and just coming back with a different user-name and contact information to attempt more theft and crime?

  6. I always get complements wearing my Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon - not because it is a US$1,250,000 watch or because its a PP, but because the design and functionality is just so unique and appealing. It's classic lines and complications are the perfect antithesis to modern, battery timekeeping. I'm yet to run into someone who actually knows the brand, but many coworkers and, even complete strangers, always glance a second look. It is a very eye-catching piece.

I have never been called out, though...

  7. Vacheron Constantin 1755 Jubillee from Joshua in Yellow Gold. Probably his most under-rated watch. A very very faithful replica of a watch retailing over $25,000 for only $98... and it is such a close rep that you will be amazed. It is also very sleek, and my father's keeps very accurate COSC time... or so I hear...

Either way it is definitely not something to overlook. My personal recommendation for a business man who wants to look super rich but also sophisticated and professional.

  8. If you are into complications, Josh sells a whole bunch of very sought-after real moon-phase/chrono/date watches from high-end brands including a beautiful iteration from Vacheron Constantin, and a few respectable ones from Patek Philippe. I know it is completely not what you're looking for, but these are very very impressive watches if you like complicated movements! Chrono-manual handwind base will ensure reliability over the Breitling which I can only assume is suffering under the weight of all those extra features...

    Anyway.... happy hunting!

  9. I would not buy one if they cost $300.

I would not buy one even if it cost $250.

It is an Asian 7750 with a rubber strap.

I feel so bad for people who like these watches. But I can theoretically place myself in a similar situation. Suppose the rep makers were able to reproduce the Patek Philippe REF 5970R, with accuracy as this big bang. I would be all over it even for $700... if you love a watch enough to justify such a price tag, then I can see how it would be hard for a BB lover to say no just like I, like a 5970 lover, would pay up to $1000 for a fully functioning accurate rep.

Still. A little strap of rubber and generic Asian 7750 inside a watch described by experts as inherently problematic. Ja cie pierdole - ze ludzie to kupuja! Barany!

  10. Yes - the box and books were a $75 addition. Since the purchase of that watch, they are an $88 addition. Quality of the box itself, especially the little wavy part on the top which is not pictured, is not excellent... the little ripples have bubbles in them and the hang tag has fading on it and one of the strings came undone... I got a gen hangtag on ebay for about $2 (I know - how lame is that? a gen hang tag?) Also, the plastic bezel protector was included for free by Joshua as a gift - I did not mention I wanted one nor does it officially come with the box.

It's a fun thing to own though... makes for very impressive photos.

The large book is free catalogue from the dealership. When I walk into one, they practically throw them at me... :)

  11. I agree! Chinese people are excellent... and by the way, this beauty's wrapped to 15mils, not plated! That's what the huge price inconsistency covers.

Here are some pictures I took today of the cleaned, schmutz-free sub that has quickly become a personal favorite of mine because of its unique, sparkling blue face.

    Time to do it proper:

What do you think guys? A good investment or what?

Personally, I adore it. God only knows whether it is waterproof... but it has the smoothest and most crisp crown operation of any of my Rolexes, it keeps flawless quartz-accurate time, it has no dust under the surface, it has no blemishes on the hour markers, and the bracelet muck has almost completely dissapeared. This one will be one my wrist for a long time, friends.

    Thanks for your help everyone!

(Especially Narikaa - of course :))

  12. I have this exact same watch from Josua also. Don't you think the date wheel is too "Golden" The magnifier a bit distorted?

I have not handled a gen TT sub... but from what I can tell both the date font, date wheel gold background, and magnifier are excellent on my piece. My watch has an unfathomable diver's extension, though... I have to wrestle it open and one time it jammed into the skin linking my finger with my fingernail resulting in severe bleeding.

If the gold does ever start to wear off, I'll just give it to one of them pesky homeless beggars and say, " You want a quarter? Congratulations. Here is a watch worth $7,000".

    Where did that come from...?

    LOL
