  1. Thanks Stephane. Green color never annoyed me (although text and 24h hand would be nicer in red) but it was the overall design that I wasn't happy about. Polished middle links on a GMT seemed a bit out of place too. But at the end of the day I've learned to appreciate GMTIIc as a different watch... and a departure from the classic GMT. This is more like "GMT III" you know...
  2. You should have paid extra (and wait extra) to get the watch shipped from EU. This is God knows... XXXth similar post in last 6 months, and it's almost becoming a daily occurance. What is so difficult in this? If you're in EU, especially in Scandinavian and Benelux countries don't get reps shipped to you from Asia. It's simple as that. Sorry to hear about those troubles though.
  3. ...that I even like this watch. But weird how it has grown on me. I'm really happy with my GMTIIc and it's definitely a keeper. The rep "ceramic" (or whatever) bezel isn't quite as shiny as the gen, but it's still pretty nice and reflective. Hope you like the shot.
  4. Wearing the GMTIIc. At some point I even considered to trade this, but actually I like it more and more every day.
  5. There have been some cheaper quartz reps of Fortis.
  6. Who really cares. I have never even seen anyone wearing this particular model. The build and "feel" of the ETA SFSO is second to none. Amazing rep.
  7. Blue color on the rep isn't exact. Gen is more "metallic blue" while the rep is darker and more "violet". That being said, I love my blue.
  8. Yes. They only sold it with red/black bezel for some reason.
  9. That was pretty damn funny story! "$7 is a bit steep". Now that's a classic... it must suck to be a poor Rolex owner!
  10. I never understood the fascination to HUGE boobs. Firm & moderately/mid sized ones are much nicer... fit ass & body are much more important to me. The ones Shundi had in his new avatar were beyond ridiculous. Pretty damn funny though.
  11. My choice for Saturday. I simply love this watch.
  12. That's a stunner Lani. Fat Lady is a great collector's item for sure. GMT II is the coolest watch Rolex ever made.
  13. Yes. However, the full gold GMT IIc is available with green dial. Stainless = not.
  14. One main problem for us is the high Google rating. I was searching for genuine TAG Aquaracer chrono pictures... to purchase a genuine, and guess what's the first picture of the Google image search: My RWG rep Aquaracer Chrono review title photo. Ironic, huh... trying to find genuine reference shots, with a gen purchase in mind... and the first one that pops up is my own rep review! Yes you heard it right guys... THE FIRST DAMN PICTURE that comes from the search string: TAG AQUARACER CHRONOGRAPH. So much for flying "under the rarar", eh?
  15. If I were a gen forum admin, I would do the same thing. Places like TZ have gen watch brands sponsoring them, etc. I doubt these sponsors want to see pictures of 100% illegal counterfeit watches there. Yes, there's the "educational" point, but anyone can come to RWG and get the same information. This is like someone giving public advice how to abuse drugs in a medical forum... Yes, there are people who would never buy reps, no matter how good they are... but reps are so good these days that some people actually ARE buying them instead of genuine articles. And pictures of "super reps" are "promotional" and they're bound to raise interest in these products. Perfectly understandable, imho.
  16. I doubt anyone objects if I put this annoying thread out of its misery and close it. I mean, this damn thing pops up from dead every now and then, just like a bad habit. RIP.
  17. For Thursday... white Explorer II:
  18. HERE is an interesting article/statistics I found. Rolex seems to be the only watch brand that gets into top 100, in the overall brand ranking. Cartier, Hermes, Bvlgari and Tiffany are there as well. I think they all make watches too. No TAG or Omega. I don't know how can you actually measure "brand value"... and this definitely isn't "brand prestige" ranking. For people who don't want to go through the whole article, here's the top 100: Rank, Brand $million 1 Coca-Cola 67,000 2 Microsoft 56,926 3 IBM 56,201 4 GE 48,907 5 Intel 32,319 6 Nokia 30,131 7 Toyota 27,941 8 Disney 27,848 9 McDonald’s 27,501 10 Mercedes 21,795 11 Citi 21,458 12 Marlboro 21,350 13 Hewlett-Packard 20,458 14 American Express 19,641 15 BMW 19,617 16 Gillette 19,579 17 Louis Vuitton 17,606 18 Cisco 17,532 19 Honda 17,049 20 Samsung 16,169 21 Merrill Lynch 13,001 22 Pepsi 12,690 23 Nescaf
  19. For me it's almost impossible to swallow that Breitling could be above TAG in name recognition. No way in hell... how could that be possible? TAG is absolutely everywhere with those (admittedly very cheesy) celebrity ads. Tiger Woods, Brad Pitt, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton, Uma Thurman, etc. etc. Even when I open my fianc
  20. Stephane said nicely that you can build your franken to 92% condition for $600, so why use $2000 more to add the percentage to %97? The missing 3% is exactly the thing what the HC Rolex Trekkies like us will call out anyway. So what's the point, really? I don't know. Especially when adding a dial like this won't make your MBW any more accurate. But then again who am I to say? This hobby means different things to different people. That's why I used imho in my sentence. I, personally think investing $450 to an inaccurate aftermarket dial is pure insanity. I owned a red MBW 1680 but the red SUBMARINER font was so out of whack, it wasn't even funny. After doing a lot research of that very model, I think I developed an "eye" for the dial. That font has very characteristic shape, and it remains there even in all those different 1680 dial variations. This one isn't even close (again imho). At least the red 1680 MBW dial has symmetric font. Why is it impossible to replicate properly... let's add another chapter to the (extremely) thick book of "mysteries of inaccurate Rolex replication".
  21. Unheard everywhere in Europe I would say. I had never heard of Movado before I joined some US-based watch forums back in early 2000's.
