I briefly owned a quartz version of this rep, which, of course, can't be compared to gen, or even this 7750 rep... but it was fairly nice anyway.

However, here's a pic of the Ebel hidden clasp. Maybe the pic explains how it operates.

Favor Flav owns the gen. Even the gen has very weak lume, because there are so few luminous areas on the dial and hands.

Ebels have hidden clasps... no push buttons. You just pull it out/open and in/close... it's in "two parts"... very nice.

PS: The gen 1911 chronos doesn't use El Primero anymore. These new ones have Ebel inhouse movements.

PS2: "L" on EBEL rotor looks misaligned.

MGB is not a powerhouse, it's a gentleman's "sports" car. Just like Alpha Spider, it's not about the performance, it's all about the "spirit". That kind of oversized spoilers can ruin almost ANY car... but especially a classic like MGB.

Original MGB is very nice, but now it looks like a teenager who's flexing his non-existent muscles.

It doesn't matter. The idea is to get your watch fully wound, and then see how long the actual power reserve is.

Give your watch 35 slow full winds from the crown, leave it on the table and see how long it runs. If you only get 12 hours your watch has a problem.

My 7750 power reserves have been varying from 24 hours to 50 hours. Actually you "should" get more than 24 hours, but I guess the low power reserve is not that big of a deal (if the watch is functioning perfectly otherwise).

Yeah, too bad about the rotor, but such is life. I really like the looks of this watch (even with the flaws)... and I'm probably getting the yellow hands w/ bracelet version.

I have never seen the MBK version in the flesh, but I've heard it has better "sparkling effect" on the dial. However, the YACHT-MASTER font on the dial is oversized, as you can see from the photos.

I don't know if it applies to the YM rep, but TW/MBK versions often "feel" better, because they somehow have more "substantial feel". This is important for some.

The dial reflects all kinds of colors in the photographs. The "reddish" color on the dial (that you often see in people's pictures) reflects from their own hand.

I know there's no sign of red or yellow on my dial.

That's the exact same watch as in this review, from the same factory. It only has thinner date font and SWISSMADE at '6, instead of

SWISS ' MADE. Both variations are correct.

People say that YM only comes with the thin datewheel font, which is not true. Here's a gen photo that resembles the one I reviewed. This thicker date version isn't as common as the thin version. See also the SWISS ' MADE.

How much the gen 18K crown & tube were?

One thing that puts me off the PO though, is I like the bling of the Breitling bracelets. I like the polished look of them.

I guess those Breitling bracelets kinda divide watch fans in two... I never liked them. There's the version of the Chronomat Evolution which is all brushed (can't remember what it's called) and it's SO much nicer than the bling version. Same thing with the Navitimer Serie Speciale. All brushed = much nicer.

The polished steel looks very good on the two-tone models though. The TT BCE is quite a looker.

It has a great wrist presence, doesn't it?
