Wore this today:
And probably my SMP chrono tomorrow:
-
Where can I find this MBW? Can someone confirm Luckyyy's contact information... I'm about to wire transfer some serious cash to Nigeria.
-
Beauties.

Lots of replica scam sites advertise their POS watches with "Zenith movement". It's all bs.
El Primero is very fine chronograph movement, and it's used in expensive watches like Zenith (obviously), Rolex Daytona, Ebel 1911 and TAG Calibre 36. The movement itself is probably worth around $1K (preowned) alone.
I seriously doubt any rep advertised has this movement... unless it's a hardcore frankenwatch a'la Ubi.

Here's Ziggy's review (I wish people read his section more):

@blkm: That really looks amazing. GMT is such a cool watch.

@BT
I'll be listening to Rush live on July 21st...
Snakes & Arrows Tour...
Looking forward to it...
Cool!!! So am I.
29th of October... same tour.
Best concert I ever saw... during my NY trip. (Actually it was Roll The Bones tour but same venue).
-
Thanks By-tor. Great review of it. My search has begun. Just trying to decide black or blue. The black seems a little more refined to me.
Yeah... the age-old dilemma... which one to get? I like all GMT's as long as they have half-red bezel. Here's my solution (2 inserts and bezels).
The Pepsi is my favourite these days... but the black/red is much dressier. It's a "gentleman's choice".
-
Thanks Steve. Good post... and good Rush lyrics.

Anyhow, I know the midsize SMP has no marker but cannot figure out why they would go backwards! Does anyone have any insights?
Because they're Chinese? Don't they even read backwards?
Seriously... this is business as usual with reps. One step ahead, two steps backwards. Nothing surprising here.

Bytor, Great watch. I've been looking for one with the correct hand stack. Where did you find it?
No, no... it's my old rep with wrong hand stack. Actually it's 2 years old next May. It's the same watch that has been reviewed here. I'm very satisfied with it. Wrong hand stack doesn't bother me at all (it's just similar with the old models and the movement is bullet-proof without those modifications).
-
Nice one blkm. I see they have fixed the dial for the correct hand stack version, or has it been modded? Did you modify the cg's too?
If I were you I'd change the insert. The numbers are a bit too thick. Not a big deal though...
-
That rep is visually closer to 5513 though.
If I were you I'd skip that rep.
-
The crown guards and pearl are horrendous. Actually small children shouldn't see those cg's as they're so freakin' ugly. But if you have skills to modify them it's not all bad.
-
... classy Black/Burgundy. It's two (or actually three watches in one).
-
Maybe it's time for us to move on to bottle-caps and marbles?
Yeah, or alternatively enjoy what we already have. That's the human nature... we always want more, better, cheaper... and we want it now! And after we finally get it we're still not satisfied: the hour marker is 0.1mm crooked to the left.
Life sucks in every possible way: When we're barchelors we complain about it. And when we get married it's even worse.
-
The age of innocence is lost... We're going through growing pains as a forum. Change is inevitable, and not always for the best.
I've been feeling burned out for quite some time now.
I've said it before: It's because you have all the watches you ever wanted. I'm pretty much in the same position myself.

Tor,
Outstanding live performance given by DMB. I have a lot of his live stuff and they are all good. Nice choice mate
Get this one. Santana's electric guitar is a great addition. And you're right... they're a LIVE BAND. The studio albums are completely meaningless to me.
Cheers!

I simply wouldn't get highly inaccurate rep for even $249. Imagine how many superior reps you'd get for that money.
Not to mention $328 + shipping... which is utterly ridiculous. It should be in the $150 - $170 range to make any sense at all.

Great post. I agree totally with the sentiments.
Sometimes it isn't what's being said, but the way it's being said. I happen to agree totally with the false advertisements on movements argument. Totally think the Cartel angle was pushed to far. BS!
Nobody mentions the thousands of watches our members have been HAPPY with.
Ditto. I'm wearing my 45mm PO on my wrist right now and it's amazing. 2 years ago we couldn't have DREAMED of such rep.
-
These DMB live performances are amazing. Live Trax vol. 2 (with Carlos Santana).
AMAZING!
What's your current favourite?

Great post as usual Bill.
Let's have some fun for a change. Watches... anyone?

...what makes me sad is that i don't see many old members posting their opinion here...
Only read......................and read...............and read........................and.............read.........
Did this forum lost its directions and purposes or what?
I am thinking ... many things ...
I've stated my opinion already. I don't like to repeat myself and beat the dead horse. Actually, the horse has already been dragged into the glue factory. I come here to have fun and discuss watches, not to seek online drama.
Once again: the issues that have been raised are valid. Scamming can't be tolerated and we have to stop it before it becomes a habit.
If certain dealers ship watches with crap movements (and advertise them as ETAs) there's no excuse... no matter what their previous reputation is. It's still outright lying and scamming. Keeping the erronous and misleading watch descriptions intact in their site despite all the complaints by the community and ignoring this thread shows total disrespect and arrogance. Apparently they don't need this forum. But guess what... we don't need them, either. This community will survive.
Personally, I'm sick and tired of the 20-page threads of the same whining... let's have some fun here for a change. So... let's do what people voted in the poll (by Edge) and move on for Christ's sake!!!
Did my post bring anything new on the table? Nope.
