  1. Thanks for those words. I see you had posted that almost exactly a year ago. I haven't bought a new watch in years. Tell me... could it be that there STILL isn't a good replication of the GMT 1675? I went to Trusty/Joshua's site a while back and all I saw was pure garbage advertised as "Great new vintage Rolex line". Junks. Is that still the case?
  2. The old one looks like a classic Submariner. 16610 was the last one of its ilk. The new one is just a bloated, boring and soulless piece. Absolutely NOTHING desirable in the new fat Sub to me.

    Daytona

You can buy those secs at '6 Daytonas. They might last for a year or two... or maybe even longer. When it's just a few hundred bucks it's easier to simply throw it away when it breaks and buy another. Hey... I just described perfectly what modern electronics is these days. PS: I wrote this review eight years ago. And I believe nothing has changed. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/47319-review-of-rolex-daytona-seconds-at-6/
  4. Hey it's already Sunday where I live... and I haven't done this in AGES and I definitely wanted to start it... just like the old days! Nice to be back. Wearing my trusted old replica watch that I bought back in... well... I think it was 2008. A7750 still running strong.
  5. Blasphemy! Jag makes the best looking cars out there. And take this from a guy who has owned 5 Mercs in a row. I love Jags (and hate PAMs)! PS: This doesn't look very "fat" to me... and while 550 hp might not offer "extreme performace" by today's standards, it's still plenty.
  6. I just heard about this. I feel really sorry to hear this. Cats was a longtime forum friend and always a gentleman. Rest in peace my friend. Carpe diem By-Tor
  7. Thanks man. I try to be around more. And I gotta shoot some new ones one of these days. Too bad I don't have any new watches.
  8. Tried a gen new Explorer II whte on last week. I kinda liked it. It might be the only attractive modern Rolex watch. New or old model, waddya say?
  9. I haven't posted much lately but here's a quick one. Here are some of my favorite rep chronographs that I've owned. I've owned plenty more but these are the ones I found pictures from... and that ring a bell. I don't buy reps that often anymore. I think the last one I purchased was back in 2010. Breitling BCE. V2 I think. Very nice rep but the greenish chewing-gum like hour markers pisssed me off. Navitimer two-tone. This one I loved but it never fit my wrist properly and it was too garish. Great rep though. Skyland v2. Best Breitling chrono rep there is (or at least was). Awesome build quality. Breitling Chronomat B01. Ditto. Very well built rep. The only issue was the lackluster AR. The infamous seconds at '6 Daytona. Actually the watch in the picture was a friend's rep but I owned a similar one for a few weeks. I'm a classic Rolex man through and through but I never really understood the attraction of Daytona (old or new). Visually it's rather boring watch and wears very small. Ebel 1911 Chronograph. Now this was a funny one. Bought it back in 2004 from Richard Lawton's collection. It was a quartz rep but a decent one at that. My first rep chronograph. That's why I added it. Ebel 1911 BTR. Still the best built rep I've ever owned. The bracelet was spectacularly good, very gen like. Loved this watch. Sold it because I was going to get a gen but then never did. Ebel 1911 Discovery. A legendary replication. I still have this one and will keep it for good. Audemars Piguet Seven Sails: This was quite well made piece. Just added it because it was the only AP I've owned. I'm not a AP guy, really. Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow. A rep classic with the hand wind Venus. I also owned briefly two other Venus chronos. Speedmaster black and Speedmaster "reduced" which was very inaccurate but fun. TAG Heuer Aquaracer 45mm, I loved this watch so much that I bought a gen (a 41mm version though). TAG Heuer Link. I made a review of this and it created quite a lot of sales. Old school dealers actually all owe me at least a few free watches because those old reviews got tens of thousands of views and those greedy Chinese bastards laughed all the way to the bank. Anyway this was pretty much the first ever "super rep". It was very accurate (and still is). And I still own this. I got it back in 2005 or 2006. Still running like a champ. Actually I just wore it yesterday. Has a few dings and battlescars but it's been surprisingly reliable. A7750 is a great movement, apparently. I can post some more if I can remember something worthy.
  10. This is surprisingly good album by a few old farts.
  11. I still have my Merc and BMW but I've become a "Jag Man". I just have to find out which model I want... and most importantly, which one I can afford. XK8 probably.
  12. I have a new dream car. Jaguar F-Type R. This looks and sounds just... well... insane. Holy****shit this is a stunning car!
  13. Tough question. My Rolexes (16610 and 16710) are "must haves" from collector's point of view. But I wear my Breitling Steelfish the most. I'd probably take this one.
  14. Very unimaginative I know... but I often wear this Steel Submariner.
  15. Jeremy Clarkson finally found a car that he really, really wants. But it costs half a million pounds.

  18. You either understand Crimson or not. The people who do, also understand that this song is a unique masterpiece in rock music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-YJyffWh3s
  19. Looks brilliant! Now where's the mandatory wrist shot?
  20. I agree Nanuq. That's some cheap Dweller though.
  21. Hey... I posted this a few years ago. How do you feel about the fat lugs models now? Has your opinion changed? I still don't like them... being the boring old conservative me.
