  1. Thanks Nanuq. How are things in the rep world at the moment? Still no decent 1675 rep I see. I went to the dealers' sites and the ones available looked like shit. They NEVER can do the crown guards correctly. Haha.
  2. Hi Stephane, what's in your current collection right now? I remember you sold all your gens back in the day. Have you recollected some of them?
  3. Fantastic work. Most 1675 reps look like shit because the crown guards are so blatantly wrong looking. This is NICE. They're supposed to be "boxy" like this. PS: Funny that the rep factories can never make them look even remotely like the gen but this quartz homage has nice 1675 cg's, haha.
  4. Hi everyone, how are you? Long time no see. The rep is not very accurate for obvious reasons (subdial spacing) but it's one of the best built rep I've ever had. The gen is awesome (has the same movement as Breguet XX) and the detail of finish is extraordinary. Of course the rep is not as nice but it's ALMOST as nice. My current collection Rolex 16710 (gen) Rolex 16610 (gen and WM9 v2 rep) Rolex 16750 (gen) Breitling Superocean Steelfish (gen) Breitling Skyland blue (gen) TAG Aquaracer chrono (gen) bought from someone at RWG, can't remember who Ebel BTR Seamaster Bond (gen) bought from someone at RWG, cant' remember who Seamaster bond Chrono (rep, awesome old 2006 version) Zenith El Primero Flyback Rainbow (gen) I'd love to buy this 41mm DJ as gen but I'd love to "rep test" it first. So if someone has this exact model in the EU (or some other dial variation), let me know. (borrowed this pic from RWI sales forum).
  5. That is one of the nicest E31's I've seen. Was it a CSI model or just standard? Can't remember. Mark these words... it's so obvious that these are going up in value very soon. Just like the old 3.0 CS-models. They used to be dirt cheap... now they're as expensive as Mercedes Pagodas. Merc R107 is next also. I prefer the SLC myself.
  6. Isn't it ridiculous that the rep factories make those vintage pieces that look like shit? After 20 years they haven't figured it out. They always install Submariner-like spiky little crown guards on a 1675 and 16750. And being innovative they release vintage Submariners that often have 1675-like thick and boxy cg's. They are fucking geniuses in China. Or blind... take your pick. I was browsing the Ebay and found this. Some nickel and dime "homage" brand can make a case that looks a bit like the real 1675. Look at the "boxy" crown guards. Maybe one day we get a 1675 rep that looks a bit like the actual 1675... but I'm not holding my breath for that. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Davosa-Vintage-Diver-GMT-Blue-and-Red-Pepsi-161-570-95-25011/272946481012?hash=item3f8ce0c774:g:GJMAAOSwUYNaEvx2
  7. These old Jags are so gorgeous.
  8. Euno has a beautiful example.
  9. That's amazing man. I love it. PS: What do you think about the new 8-series? The new S-coupe is absolutely SICK looking but now there's finally a competitor.
  10. Yeah. You should have bought a good one in the early 2000's. The prices have gone up lately, just like Merc Pagoda and water cooled 911's. The pristine ones are sick expensive.
  11. Well who really ISN'T a 911 guy? How can you NOT love it? It's like saying that you hate the classic 1680/16610 steel Submariner. You just can't. So many nice cars, so little money (and space). But can't disagree with Jeremy here.
  12. Yeah. Mercedes AMG GT-S and Porsche 911 can probably beat in on the track with ease but I don't give a shit. Listen to these sounds.
  13. I've had BMWs, Mercs, Porsche 928 S4 (still have it). But the thing is... I want a JAG. And this JAG. The problem is... they're still too expensive. But cars like this depreciate heavily. I think this is the best looking car on the market right now.
  14. I never had WM9 16613 but I had this Noob version. SELs were shite but other than that it was pretty good.
  15. Yeah... one man's treasure can another man's poison. Different watches for different wrists.
  16. Yeah... definitely. I'm a big 6'3 guy but sometimes I wish I wasn't. There are some very, very nice smaller watches like the DJ on a Oyster bracelet. I love the white ExpII 16570 too but it's too small for me. I had this excellent CHS franken back in the day (with gen dial).
  17. Reps aside, never understood the catch with Daytona. It feels very underwhelming on the wrist. I understand the heritage, traditions and all that... and its position in the watch hierarchy but it's a fucking BORING chronograph. Breitling Superocean Chrono, Skyland, Chronomat, Blackbird, Ebel BTR, Planet Ocean Chronograph or even TAG Carrera make it look and feel like women's watch. It suffers from exactly same issue as the original 16570 Explorer II. It's too tiny and those long pushers make it feel even smaller. My friend has white gen and I had the white rep for a while. I just didn't get it. But hey, maybe it's just me.
  18. Very nice. I have the gen and I probably couldn't tell from the pic. Only the bezel pearl looks a bit off in the enlarged photos. WM9 v2 was already very good. I still have it and occasionally wear it as well, haha.
  19. I constantly see reps for sale in outrageous prices. Not saying these aren't special reps but who the hell would buy a franken Rolex for $3000? I mean what the f*ck???!!!! I bought my 16710 GEN for $3700 a few years ago. My gen 16610 was less than $5K too. Some of the asking prices are crazy. And not all these "super frankens" are even remotely accurate. Reps are a lot of fun but anything beyond $300 is pushing it. Custom made ones, like WM9 and TC should probably be priced a bit higher as they're really special.
  20. I'm not very familiar with these new models but it looks gen to me. And it looks ugly too.
  21. Not very good article. This is BS. I own seven expensive genuines and still lust after some reps... and wearing them can be just as satisfying (if not even more). Watch is a watch. It's not "larger than life" if it's a genuine Rolex or Breitling. Quote from the post: "Remember, those in the market for replica watches are not the same people who buy the real thing. Both types of customers make their purchase decisions for entirely different reasons."
  22. Ubi my man! Great to see you my old friend!!!! And what a stunning VC!!!! What do you have in your collection these days?
  23. Hi Tribal. Cheers mate. I'm wearing my WM9 today. I have my K-serial gen on the same table and when I pick up a watch in the morning I can't always tell them apart without putting my reading glasses on. Haha. The bracelet and clasp feel a bit different though.
  24. Yeah that glitch has never really bothered me. It's a rep of a 20K watch and pretty damn good one at that. Obviously you can't replicate the weight of platinum. Gen is significantly heavier. But who really cares. I have enough gens and I can enjoy these just as well. PS: Day-Date looks much better on Oyster bracelet. Check these gens.
