  1. Dear t, My life needs a blue can you send me a couple of them? best, M.
  2. Hi, Those look good! do you have profile photos? There is a lot of investment there i believe and i congratulate you for your work. If they are for sale i will be interested. Could you PM me? Best, M.
  3. Wunderbar!! Eine kleine preciozitat... M.
  4. Hi R. I just finished reading your PM and it filled me with joy! I too look forward to meet you again so i can congratulate you personally on all the 2009's achievements! As for the dials yes... they are the ones you offered me for the projects i have in hands... plexi sandwiched them and used a tape i found applied on the foundations of one of our buildings and oh boy... it glows like a torch! I think W. and S. will have to sleep with night goggles on! they will never bump on the way to the bathroom again! G. gave me a wild idea and I talked to my engraver who told me he could carve a plexi roundlet with a depth of 3/10mm making it like the original resin mid layer on the below photos... Assuming that the top layer is of your whole responsability and art (as well as the lower layer)... would you be brave enough to produce a resin 1 2/10mm mid layer and my engraver would do the dirty job? A big cheers to you R.!
  5. You may consider me over sensitive but i decided that the "build it yourself" kit is not a good idea even if i still regard it as a good concept. Let me clarify some aspects: 1 - I consider myself part of the RWG with all the other fellows that took part since its beginning and continue to contribute for its lively character and interest; 2 - I adress other fellows as friends. In fact I have good friends here and since i travel a lot i had the pleasure to meet some and all that i met - with no exception - are close friends despite the geographical distance. 3 - I never send PMs without properly adressing to somebody i do not know from anywhere. I believe in values as elegance and respect and i am tired of PMs from people who adress others with uncivilized manners. From now on I will reserve myself the right of not replying. 4 - English is not my first language and for that i try to be much more concise when i post. I do not understand how people can elaborate without reading. Reading and listening are two precious qualities in nowadays. For that i also reserve the right of not replying. 5 - I am not a seller as most of friends or close fellows at the forum know. The omly things i sold were movements that i paid for and sold because i did not needed them at the time. I did not have profits over those sales and the price covered the mvmts the shipping and an extra 50 euro for the time i spent sourcing. 6 - I earn my money with my professional activity and even being less than i could do i live with it and my options and i feel fulfilled with that. I love what i do and watches are a hobby. An extravagant hobby if vintage is your focus since it requires time availability and technical resources. 7 - As a hobby vintage projects take time as most of the fellow modders can tell. I am used not to rely on any other means and resources and usually i try to establish contacts myself and take the opportunity to produce things as plexis or source goods like vintage leather or movements or improve techniques and knowledge i have been sharing on the forum. 9 - My educational principles rely on sharing as a standpoint so i feel much more fulfilled with that than with a sale. 10 - All the people that contributed and contribute to the cohesion of the forum and of each other projects have proved more than once to be friendly, generous and attentive. Those are the ones that always made me feel home in this forum and with whom i identify. 11 - Leathersmits, plexismith and watchmakers and all the expert craftsmen i had the chance to meet never charged me for the work they did on or for my watches. The only things i pay for are the materials or components for the projects. I try to compensate them ordering parts they need from ebay or sourcing stuff like tools for instance since they do not accept my money. Neither they charged for the work on RWG friends projects. Thats a beautiful principle if you are prepared or educated for it. 8 - Both times i dealt with unreferenced people and decided to help things went imho wrong. Members like mendota to whom i sourced springbars for a RXW never got time to PM thanking me for it. I didnt charge him anything for them and even supported the shipping. Another guy (does Jon Hoffman ring any bell?) offered to work on vintageizing a 6152 case and i sent him that plus a cortebert mvmt to compensate him for the metal work (i am not good at that). I never saw the case set back (and he must have kept the mvmt since he didnt return it either). I even had been insulted by other member who called me a snobbish a**hole when i refused to sell him a cal.616 and was very surprised when i refused to take 800usd for one in the beginning of the vintage fever. I believe he would call me worse if he would find out that i sold it for 180 euro to one of our best fellow members. Its sad dealing with people that think money is everything. I will conclude that i will not sell leather or deal with people that cannot read or adress others properly. Sorry if this sounds harsh but i am tired of the disrespective attitude some people show towards other people efforts. I apologize to all the fellows and friends that contribute positively to the forum and whose efforts and generosity makes this forum a wonderful place and family to be part of. My idea was to offer the kits to the interested members and not to profit over it. The leather was offered to me so I thought the best way to hommage it would be spreading it among all the interested wrists with (or without) my design. For free except the buckles (12 euro). Another bad idea. We are all amateurs... but with manners! M.
  6. Hi G. Resin is a [censored] to work with. I used laser cut plexi discs 1mm thick. Please tell me the thickness you need and i will source a sheet of it for you. best, M.
  7. I am not into fun. I am more for accuracy. Original straps were hand sewn. But some of them were not so i believe that with a correct linen thread the result of an industrial sewing could be nice but the fun is all yours because you are going to sew it! I cant handle needles so we can join accuracy with fun, M.
  8. You should at least say hello when you PM somebody that doesn
  9. I will sell kits not bulk leather. I am not a grocer
  10. Kostas, I do not know if you are still around but I let you know you crossed my mind the moment i opened the 3kg package from italy. Got some spare for you to work on. Fetishes must be fed:) and your straps are awesome. PM me. best, M.
  11. G. asked me what projects i have running. They are two. Both for friends abroad. Kruzer (W.) and Skcheng (S.), these are for you. I apologize for the time it took to restart but you both know that i couldnt do it earlier. I thank you for all your care and calls. You have been helping me more than you know. At least I got some decent photos of the dials. They were made with more care than i would have for myself or my projects. Ross did the hardest part: brilliant constructed dials! I did the rest. best, M.
  12. Hi. Thank you for your interest. I have leather for many straps but my free time is limited so i propose you organize in this thread a list of interest starting with: 1-Hongkytonkman 2- .... minimum 15 entries and i take a day off during february to stripe the leather and prepare the kits. please let me know and thank you for your interest and nice compliments. M.
  13. I have enough leather and buckles for that. I can produce "build it yourself" kits if there is general interest over it. Since i have few time to dedicate to watches (unfoirtunately) I will be able to prepare 20 sets in a afternoon during february so if the interested parts organize and do a checklist i can do it. The leather is amazing and the process is so simple that i will not have to buy a leather strap again. I will do all mine! Best regards, M.
  14. Hi G.! I have a project running late! two 6152 with angelus mvmt for two friends here. Next personal will be a 2533 but i will have to ask for your help on sharpening a case and soldering lugs. I can engrave plexi (you asked if it was possible). I have posted a pic of my 6152 with a cal. 618 and you can see the back plexi engraved. As for the leather... its beautiful and soft! Italian from Firenze and from a 40
  15. Thank you! Its good to be back. Thank you also about the compliment. I had accessed a lot of old stock stuff like the leather for instance. I bought lots of those buckles also. The strap is easy to do and took me about an hour to cut and assemble. Its a quick process and i am thinking of producing "build it yourself" kits with dimensioned vintage (and i mean vintage from a 40's italian lot) leather stripes, assembly instructions and buckle if there is general interest over it. maybe its a wild idea but i can assure this is one of the best straps i have:) M.
  16. Back home! and its good to be back... thank you for you know what:) M.
  17. Thanks for the compliment O.! I no longer have that photo but i will update with this vintage ensemble:
  18. Hey, S. Happy new year! Its a Tornek Rayville in the back... a must!!! I have seen several gen fifty fathoms and must confess imho being not an accurate rep it is much more nice than the ones i saw. Case design is superb and also the bezel. Sorry i still have your bag of plexis. will ship tomorrow or friday. Need leather? M.
  19. hey old buddy! what does sig mean?
  20. I also made the strap. An ex student of mine who lives in Firenze sourced me an impressive vintage leather stock. I couldn
