  1. Hey Ross... This is a hell of a touch
  2. If the problem is the sizing of holes i have a set of cortebert hands (hours+minute) I can gladly send them as sacrificial lambs... M.
  3. Hi G! I have been out for a while but always attentive to all the vintage achievements... But thank you for your warm compliment! Its mutual... R. dials are simply amazing and the use of a mica is perfect. Try to use an x-acto blade to cut it form the back to simulate the cracking effect. Its simply amazing!!! And use a clear mica. The important thing is the vintageization of the lower plate and the final effect is something!!! Joyeux Noel mon ami et je te congratule pour ton projets! M.
  4. Thanks Ross. Another powerful and useful tutorial. Your dials are perfect (thank you so much for your offerings). And since the brass plate thickness is very thin you opened the way (voluntarily or involuntarily :-)) for another great step on vintage dials... Finally I got some spare time to dedicate myself to the projects and spent the whole afternoon with the dials you sent me. I am preparing new 6152 projects (Angelus mvmt) for two good friends and slowly preparing the cases, dials and straps. The wonderful thing about your dials is that you can insert a thick acetate roundlet between both disks and the effect of a resin filled dial is reached perfectly (without resin!!!). Results are beautiful! I wish I had a camera now to post some pics. You can even create the cracking effect with an x-acto blade and easily reproduce a dial like, for instance, Pape's Radiomir... I will b in London on January and will take some stuff with me. Hopefully I will take the vintage straps for you and Simon if they are ready. A merry Christmas for you all! M.
  5. I am totally with you T. M.
  6. Hey Gui Your work is simply AMAZING!!! I am drooling... I am now assembling a couple of 6152 for close friends so your work will be my reference. Congrats and thanks for sharing!! M.
  7. Hi Jeff, I offered you some springbars and a couple of plexis some months ago remember? It would be nice to hear a thank you from you... I do not need thanks but I feel its the minimum effort you could do to someone who doesnt know you from anywhere and decides to help inconditionally. M.
  8. I wish I could go... Damn hard luck... I will be in Algeria again by that time... Wont you guys consider coming to Portugal for a future GTG? M.
  9. It will require more than ears! Rule number one says "practice makes the organ". a lot of practice and at some point you will notice that women are not so different from us in the basic needs. They just behave differently. Maybe one of these days I can write a tutorial but right now I really have 4 to attend to... M.
  10. 5. It's very, very important that these four women do not know each other.
  11. Impressive!!!! not only the mvmt but the casework also! M.
  12. Dear Skcheng and Kruz, its time to meet again on the same thread! Hope you guys are doing great! The watch looks great! I will have a 1:1 "breast" plexi made for you in a near future... like the real mccoys! I have been with a huge amount of work (not complaining about it...) and not so much time available for the watch projects but I will be back on the move on mid April. All the best, M.
  13. Here is mine if it helps. Picture is not so great but then I do not own digital cameras... The strap is a Simona vintage tan. BTW : great choice of straps Victoria! These can compensate the scare you gave me with the Delaurian just the other day... Best, Marco
  14. My advice would be a Simona strap vintage tan 26/26mm. Thats the one I use on my 183 and they match perfectly. BTW - Victoria, what a lovely hand you have... The 183 also looks great despite I do not like the majority of Paci straps... best, Marco
  15. I took a lot of work too and I am not so ugly! M.
  16. You should try to roll it with cloth and give it a decent burial... but just for a week. Earth will take the smell out.
  17. What a riot!!! Damn I was not able to join this time... I will surely go if you guys plan another one in advance. My vintages need a change of atmosphere Congratulations for the organization and for everyone who joined the event. RWG rules! best, M.
  18. @Victoria: You should give Egon Schiele a try... Klimt
  19. If you are into contemporary brasilian cinema go get Tropa de Elite. The best (and most brutal) movie I saw this year.
  20. I totally disagree with you. Cohen brothers are back with this one...
  21. I have bought a 087 "La bomba" rep recently from Chronology1066 (thanks Les for a wonderful deal!) on RC. I believe its from the first batch but it was modded by Mark (Finepics). Actually I was told it was his watch. Again, his work on the dial is quite impressive! As you all know I only have eyes for vintage watches and to own a contemporary it must be very simple like the regular Luminors or Radiomirs. No chronos or other extra functions. I shot on this one thinking I would regret later but in fact I am hooked to it!!! My overall impression on the watch is very positive. However its a bit heavy and bulkier than the regular 44mm models. Feels like a 47mm on the wrist and a double weight. If you are looking for an elbow dislocation you should go definitelly for this one. The dial blue is similar in tone to the gen but the later have a kind of mettalic reflex as far as I remember. best, M.
