  1. I'll trade your bezel for a non-blinged bezel + cash if you're interested......
  2. Just out of curiosity for another project I'm working on: What constitutes gen like pushers? I've seen V2 Rep SA cases with "two part" pushers. Small pushers with loose pusher extenders that fit into the spacer ring to activate the mechanism, and V3 rep pushers that have long extenders that need the movement angled in toward the case to fit, but that won't work with a V2 movement ring, since the holes don't line up - In that case you'll need a V3 movement ring specifically with an open bottom on the edge to accomodate the extended pushers. Which is the accurate one for the gen?
  3. I'm in NJ, but work in NY - fairly close to the diamond district as well. If you can PM me the name and or address, I will certainly stop in and see them. Especially if they can source and install the Gen parts.
  4. What happened to the ridiculous thread in the Watches forum? Was it deleted?
  5. SA tubes are part of the mid case on SA reps and cannot be replaced. Instead a new mid case and rep crown needs to be sourced. The problem is typically a bent tube at the time of initial assembly that causes a stripping of both the crown and tube. This is one of the many ways the Chinese replica is inferior to the genuine A TD should be able to get you a replacement case set for about $250.
  6. Edge, Do you have the link for the RG thread. I participated in that thread, but it seems to be missing....
  7. I think it's US based. And there was a thread about this over at RG, but now I can't find it. Anyone have a link?
  8. There's an HKTan hornback for MH on sale at RG right now.
  9. I'm desperately trying to get a Gen B13 movement installed in a brand new V3 case to finish my Franken SA. Looks like I didn't know enough to ask for the movement spacer ring that matches the V3 case I ordered. Apparently, there is a small difference between the movement spacer ring for the V2 case that I have and the one for the V3 case. It seems that the internal diameter of the V3 case is just 2mm (or so) narrower then the V2 case I am replacing and the spacer ring won't fit. Is this part available for the V3 case? Is there ANY chance in hell that any of you actually HAVE one of these here in the states. I've already tried Toro and he doesn't have access to this part. Below is the message I got from The Zigmeister in Canada about the V3 case I sent him: Can anyone help? I am willing to buy a broken (cosmetically or movement) V3 from someone and cannibalize it for the ring. Anyone? ----------- On Mon, Aug 27, 2012 at 9:32 AM, The Zigmeister wrote: The new case is missing its movement spacer ring. Old case versus new one is not the same or compatible - old inner diameter 39mm/new inner diameter 37mm - old = short pushers and extenders on spacer - new = long pushers and no extenders - need missing spacer - Please see ref photos.
  10. I know - I love mine.... Thanks Dr. Theo....
  11. So, on impulse, I bought a Gen Flying B bracelet to put on my rep Flying B when it comes back from being serviced. It occurs to me now (too late, I know) that since the rep speed bracelet was terribly tight, that the Gen bracelet may not fit. Does anyone have any experience they can share? I'm sure that I can use it on my Gen Motors-T or my Super Franken SA - but it really was intended to take the Flying B to a new level. Thoughts?
  12. No no no. The Zigmeister is on vacation. Vac is still working albeit slowly since he's so backed up. It took almost three weeks for him to complete a 1 week pearl lume. Awesome work, and worth the wait but still a wait.
  13. He is still on Vacation. Probably another week or so.
  14. OK.. I have a question..... How is it that the time AFTER you walked into the darkened house is BEFORE the time when you were outside?!? Just saying, is all....
  15. OK. Well that was more then I expected but exactly what I was hoping for. THANK YOU!!!! Got a link for one of those "magic" V3s? I have a few bookmarked, but I'd like to see which one you're specifically talking about. I appreciate the advice. J
  16. On second thought ( now I'm talking to myself) It's a Breitling bezel so we're talking just screws, right. And used gen bezels are, like, $100. It really IS just screws and press the bezel on, correct? That I can do. So I guess I'm just looking for the proper rep to do that with, and of course someone to change the dial to a gen dial. Right?
  17. "Thankfully" the CNY has given me an opportunity to do even more research. Without the built-in cooling off period for the next few weeks, I would likely have pulled the trigger already on a V3 rep from Perfect Clones. Now, after giving it some thought, it seems that I really want something that I can ultimately get a little closer to gen if possible. This means a little franken'ing. I looked into watch tools, gen parts from eBay, and past franken sales on this forum and others. It looks like somethign I could probably do - but I have a few questions: I'd be willing to pay someone for their skill and labor so I don't have to risk my own SA rep to a failed franken project. What is a fair price to pay on this forum's sales section for a White Baton SA with gen dial and gen bezel? I am perfectly capable of changing the bracelet to a gen Pro II when I'm ready. Also, I see that the V2s are generally unavailable, which ALSO lends me to think that buying one from a collector or modder who may have one is a better bet. However, maybe you folks know something I'm not seeing. Is there a SA rep that is moddable with a gen bezel and gen dial? If so, link please. Lastly, if someone HAS one of these, or a trusted modder/collector who is willing to put one together for me, please let me know. Thanks JJ
  18. If the dealer is one of RWG's trusted dealers, then it's even more reason to post the source on-line in an open forum. I'm always more interested in how it compares to the Gen -- THEN I get interested in where to get it. This particular watch has long been on my list of gens to get -- but if it's a good rep, I think I many want to road test it a bit before I commit to the gen.
