Photos of first rep purchase from Josh(Lange & Sohn)
Pix replied to montydog's topic in Other Brands Area
I love that L&S too ! My Patek belong to the same "look" family, and I wouldn't be surprized they come from the same manufacturer, as this Breguet also And the back of all these is as beautiful as the front ! Blue hands are always most classy. Wear it well ! By the way, someone to explain the relation between L&S and gGassh -
Fair agreement, happy ending...

Have a look at the ended auctions : prices remain cheap. that does not mean that the MB I look for will be cheap at the end, for sure. The pawn shops is a good reason why the prices remain overall affordable. I have my explanation here, thanks.
-
Thx Pug. That all makes sense...
-
@Ken : If the MB he has is not a gen, it's damn perfect : look at the engraving on the case. It true that all the rest can be surely easily replicated (chrono with a 7750), but this engraving (embossing) is already something special (in my opinion). My rep has only some laser etching, which make sense for the price. Hope the link works : *http://cgi.ebay.fr/Montblanc-Day-Date-Chrono-Auto-See-Through-Back-38mm_W0QQitemZ170091264919QQcategoryZ31387QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem If these are reps, at that time, I urge any of our dealer to get such perfect reps : anyone would make a lot of money by realizing the myth of the perfect rep. You know, those fans who are able to spend 500-800 dollars for a rep. But for this price, they should be able to replicate the certificates and supply the whole accessories, which actually are not available from Johnnywatch. What is Pawn shop ? @pug : I was afraid of such answer, and I must say I had thought the same. Really don't know. I wished I could meet someone here that had an experience with him.
-
May I ask the question differently, as we all seem to agree that these are gens. How can gens reach such prices ?
-
Hi, so happy you liked it too :-) Yes, most chronos can be settled this way (I had the problem on a Festina chrono). Andrew has always a solution for you, true. Pics ? Wear it well....
-
Hi all, *http://search.ebay.fr/_W0QQsassZjohnnywatchQQhtZ-1 I found he has cheap prices for gens. I asked some questions about warranty, certificate etc... The answer : none of these, but the watch is gen.... Well. What do you guys think of that ? Anyone experiences already ? Thx

Hi Tagman, never seen the black SLR with correct date and auto movement before. I own a Quartz one, as you know : very happy with it, but inaccurate. What's the price of such a watch in the place you got in from ? I will follow you in the trade section, should the trade happen. A beauty :-) BTW, would you mind taking a pic of the back ?
-
ARGH ! I wish I could get one... Too bad. I'll read your topic, for sure.
-
BTW, any owner of a similar model over there ? I'd like to share about how the movement works.
-
Not mine for a long time (it's a gift)...
-
Hi, would you have some link or dealer name for that ? Thx
-
Hi all, here's a little review of a watch which has been bought for a friend. So I had 20 minutes for the shots, I hope that's enough to please your eyes... I have for the first time bought a rep from a forum member. Not only to save some dollars (well I saved something like 30 % however), but most of all for its pretty good accuracy compared to the other dealers (expecially digits and hands). This member bought it from WBK . I'm not unproud of this purchase, it's close to perfect this time (I know, the quest for the perfect rep is a myth ) . Of course, there are less things to replicate, but damn, that watch breathes high quality ! General overview The dial is checkered (guilloch

What do you guys think of applying a glossy varnish on the White MB Star to have the visual defects fade ?
-
Well... Is that a new way to lie by omission ? You buy a gen movement, you get one, but sorry it's a second hand one...(nobody's perfect ) Some people (the manufacturers ?) have no limit in feeding the little white lies tale...
-
Thx. To those who have the Starwalker, how's the feeling on the weight ?
-
Hi Rek001, I'm currently purchasing one of it. Which modell do you speak of (Steel one ?) I fully agree (I have "only" 2 reps and both have an issue there) And it wouldn't be so difficult to have a white (not yellow or grey) smooth and even logo. Especially on MB, it is fully part of the look and one of the first thing you will notice. I'm happy you like the Copernicus too, that just makes me feel even better on the choice I did myself. As it's a rainy sunday, it's the ideal moment for some shots...
-
It's not a big deal actually, but I now think all these Copernicus have that. It's probably due to the printing method used or the ink itself. I must say I saw the same on Sash pics, in his section (yes I've been there this morning !! :-)), at least I have this feeling (it's not that obvious on the pics). Globally however, these Copernicus give an excellent feeling (weight and finishing, except the boxes/booklets >> sorry, some may say I'm too demanding ). I don't know how they are against gens. Now that I've seen the SS Boheme, I think I NEED one : to marry with my black Boheme :-) That's a bad thread... I did not imagine I would be suddendly caught by MB pens' fever. BTW, nowadays all gen have a serial number. What about the reps ?
-
-
Lovepanerai, I love your Boheme pens ! Their size and shape just make them sexy ! What about the quality of the MB insigna on your reps ? Pity that they can't rep the gen quill (hope it's the correct word) and the diamond's shape. Otherwise, it looks perfect. I do love it ! @Pug : what's your feeling about the box ? Was there a booklet with it ? @piratedzeus : the Starwalker is probably one of the best rep. I remember of a review. The differences seem to be : the squares are closer on the gen, the white MB star is too round on the rep (the only real issue) and it seems that the pin is not plain.
-
I got it from him too. No diamond on mine, but a black diamond or something like this... Looks great. BTW, I'm a lefty (is that correct ?), so fountain pens are more for the fun as far as I'm concerned. I can't say mine writes well, still have to train it one or two monthes ! Don't you have any defect on the Star ?
-
Thx Ken. Well, as far as pen are concerned, as I said above, I have for the moment a mixed feeling. But maybe it was just the bad manufacturer. Here some shots of the Copernicus I will keep (you have seen the Solti I will leave). Also a quick shot of my gen Boheme. Have a look on the third pic, you'll see the only default I mentionned on the Copernicus. Some won't notice, I see only that... For a perfect copy of pen, I'm ready to spend up to 80-100 dollars. Actually I haven't seen one (again, just mentionning ALL fountain pens)
