  1. Guys been talking to a dealer or two and w/ the recent trade problems between USA and China things are tightening up. Now EU was always tough UK not so much but us here in the states had it pretty easy , well those days are over at least for now.

PS I am going to leave any politics out of this and so should you , we just have to deal W/ it like our brothers in the EU have for many many years.

  2. In theory specked out to gen, let us say case size ,ability to take gen parts, in some cases an attempt to recreate the movement.

Hammer it depends on your goals if you are looking to get a watch that pretty much looks the part most decedent reps can be worn and none but a watch enthusiast will now the different. As you read here you will see many threads w/ guys "modding" their reps w/ gen parts (a dial is a big plus for instance ), crowns , bezels shaving/reshaping crown guards/ cases to get it closer to gen you name it it is done . Some even get gen movements , now if not open case back who is going to know if same beat , well we do that too. So read around figure what you can live w/ in regard to money / mods if so inclined. My advice is to look at our sales section there are plenty of modded /upgraded reps at this time and decide if that is for you if not just find one you like want go to one of our dealers buy wear enjoy! Just a word guys sales threads are not a place to ask questions unless your buying, you can ask in brand specific areas or here.

Notice I'm up on my deck... it's just crazy with wild critters this year.  We've got bears around the house, on the deck, in the garage, in my wood pile, in the road, we've got moose running around tearing up trees, 2 people just got chased off the mountain above me by brown bears, over in the next valley a guy was just killed by a brown bear, and the search party that found him was attacked and one of the searchers lost his leg.  I usually don't think twice about going climbing but this summer has me feeling pretty cautious.

So... wristies from the deck!  :tu:

As for what I know of gun laws in Alaska (basically none existent ) should be easy enough to pack a handgun w/ enough punch to take one down.

This should do the trick: S&W model 29 w/ the magnum load not the special for your neighborhood , yes the "Dirty Harry" of Eastwood fame piece.

  4. OK guys let's take it a step further this is RWG cc not a noob board for the latest V whatever, we build: nitril or viton gaskets?

My research has led me here:

    "

Re: Which Dive Watches Use Viton Gaskets or Seals?

as an engineer specialized in very high pressure (for the oil drilling industry) I can summarize here advantage and disadvantage of Viton again Nitril

    Viton advantages over nitril:
very resistant to chemicals specially oils
very resistant to high temperature (up to +300°C)

    disadvantage over nitril :
less flexible material need more precise grooves
subject to break if not corectly handeled
    more porous than Nitril

I do not see a that big advantage of viton against nitril for watches , exposure to very high temperature is a non sense for a watch , and we rarely dip a watch in a corrosive athmosphere !

the fact that nitril is more flexible than viton gives a good advantage concerning the necessary torque to wind th watch (manufacturers who use viton are obliged to grease thoses)

so let us say that it is a plus "on paper" but not a real advantage ... a little bit like the helium escape valve on divers
    cheers

    Anyone think differently?
  5. Not our guy Markie & did not happen here just a bit of inter-board news so neither I nor legend in charge of investigating the case.

You know guys best to stay home here where we know each other when buying/selling, there is an upside to being  a smaller community. ;)
