  1. So, what happened to the rule about not allowing dealer websites? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=42718
  2. Fantastic! A really fine piece! I would love to see a tutorial on how he did it ...
  3. I agree - I bought my first few reps from Paul back in the Abay-eshop days and they were great, and the service was great. From what I've read he's gone downhill fast since then. There are too many great dealers to deal with an iffy one like Paul.
  4. I think most everyone that's been here for more than a few weeks has more than one rep! I have a few automatic watches and when I don't wear one for a couple days, I just give it a shake (or a wind), set the correct time, and I'm out the door. It's the same with my handwind watches.
  5. frankpower I wouldn't buy anything from a site until I heard from multiple RWG/RWI/TRC members who've purchased there. Too many scams going on and no offense to "Ghetto2315" but this IS the first post for that user.
  6. Shouldn't it have a Radiomir dial? I guess that would bug me but DAMN this is a sweet distressing/aging job flav!
  7. FANTASTIC work V! I am starting to try and stitch my own straps, I did one that turned out ok, but my stitches were uneven and crooked looking, even though I carefully measured and marked the leather it didn't turn out well. I have seen those tools that have a wheel with spikes on it, do you use something like this? http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/product...?number=8091-00 Or do you use something like this? http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/product...?number=8043-00
  8. arch - I've done lost wax casting for bronze and aluminum, and lost wax is VERY detailed, if there is a fingerprint in the wax, it will be cast in the metal when complete. I don't know if the tolerance is there to cast threads, because of shrinkage, etc the threads may be off but it would certainly capture any engraving that was done (assuming the caster knew what they were doing )
  9. Yes, and I've been trying to upgrade my membership now for a couple weeks while they decide on a "new payment processor". I'll keep waiting patiently, but until then, anyone is welcome to PM me.
  10. Most of these will be for sale very soon, so PM if you want in first //edited because pics were broken, I'll get them back up soon. Anyway, I've been around old RWG, new RWG, TRC for a while and just found RWI recently so I thought I would introduce my very modest collection : My first rep, because I didn't know any better, a PAM Base on rubber with a paper-thin crown, Asian auto ( ) and SUPER blue AR. I actually like this one if I could only get a nice thick crown for it. This one I bought from a member at old RWG. My second rep had to be a Rolex. I bought a "Swiss" ETA Submariner from Paul at Abay-eshop (LOL!) I only have a shot of this as a "group" because this watch is my favorite of all, a tank, and is super accurate. Here's the group shot : My next rep, a PAM 183 Black seal. This was purchased from Paul also, and is actually one of my favorites. I love the 45mm size, it's perfect and the Radiomir case is great. This watch also keeps fantastic time. ETA movement in this one. Now I started to get a little experimental - TTK had a LV Sub for sale that was PVD'd. I just didn't think it looked right with the green bezel so I bought it and swapped the bezel with a black one to create Darth Vader's Rolex : PAM127, 1950. BOB Carbon Fiber strap. From Eddie Lee. And finally, a gen Charles Hubert watch I got as a gift and have never worn. I haven't even sized it. Thanks for letting me share my collection with you all!
  11. I have been inspired by pubus! I bought some leather today and some tools (needles, thread, leather hole puncher etc) and have started my own strap of tan suede. I am thinking either black or red stitching. I am doing mine a little differently. I have done the glue first and then will cut the strap to fit after the glue has dried. We will see which method works the best. After cutting I will start the stitching process. I will be taking pictures! Thanks for the most excellent tutorial. I am wondering now what household items I can use to darken and distress the suede but I will worry about getting it finished first! Thank you so much pubus!
  12. Wow! That's great! I'd imagine it would be easy to make some small Stainless 1mm spacers to fit on each end of the bar to prevent the bracelet from slipping around. That would be great!
  13. I guess I would consider that unbranded, but it looks like the images have been "photoshopped" to remove the word Panerai from anything. It's a rep, and looks decent though who knows what you'd actually get.
  14. Great addition to your great collection!
  15. Flav - what will it cost to have a few crystals double coated? Is there a minimum # of crystals you need before you send them out?
  16. I figured as much - thanks for the quick reply TT!! I don't mind sending to an admin's personal pp if that's a solution....I'll be patient
  17. I would love to upgrade so I can post some pieces I have for sale, but when I try to do so I get an error message : http://www.rwg.cc/members/upgrade.php Selecting a new payment provider or something. The exact same error at TRC. What the heck is going on!?
  18. Where are you finding this for $122 USD?
  19. Help me find some springbars for my Fiddy. I have a 26/26 strap and a good buckle that I'd like to keep. I will probably not need replacement tubes also unless that is required for some reason when switching from screw to springbars. Please help! I've checked here, the bay, Jules Borel, etc.... HELP!
  20. If you're looking for a waterproof rep for those 20-30 foot free dives, you can probably send your rep off to one of the watchsmiths that we have on the board to give the new piece a once over, lube, seal and test to make sure.
  21. Very nice... Hopefully your brother either doesn't care about wearing a rep, or works in an industry where he can get away with wearing a watch that would cost more than my car!
  22. Birdman, great to have you! Please post some single screwdrivers and screwdriver sets in your tools section! There are probably a lot of members who would love to buy a single small Bergeron or Horotek set-screw screwdriver with a couple replacement blades and replacement set screws. Also if you have any watch winders....?
