  1. watch only any other jelwery gives me the heebie jeebies. my father lost a finger in a milling machine because of a ring....and i saw an electrician blow a finger off when he shorted 2 hi viltage breaker bars with his platnium wedding ring...poof.... also saw a really nasty pic of a lady who slipped and fell on the ice...as she fell she grabbed at a nearby fence..caught her ring on a spike...and you can guess the rest. so....needless to say i dont wear rings. when i try they just feel uncomftrable. like a bad idea. i even dont like wearing watches with too robust of a steel braclet..rather loose the watch than the hand. ive always got my paws in some moving mechanical thing or another. sad though cause i see a lot of rings (chrome hearts) that i like.
  2. i did'nt...however i was replacing a crystal that sploded all over the place. i just put a bit of silicone o ring lube on the edge of the plexi crystal..made sure not ot pinch/smash the teflon gasket and smooshed it in there. i dont, however know if this provided a waterproof seal though it's a vintage project..far from done so ive not tested it yet. as a matter of fact..as i look at another mini fiddy case i have sans crystal...im not even sure how to remove the bezel..is it presed on? threaded? dunno? perhaps a far moe experienced modder than i can comment.
  3. so far 37.2 is the size fitting most mini fiddys. at least the ones from twp. as far as needing a press...you may not. i have installed them by just pressing the upside down case against my desk covered with a suede pad. once for a stubborn one i used one of those black and decker one handed c clamps. worked great however with plexi....you may crack it or scratch it.. so.....you can buy a press pretty cheap on e bay. or perhaps take the case and crystal to a local watchsmith. just tell him you're building a watch from parts
  4. if the caseback of the blue dial tudor has mn76 or some such engraved on it you should go back and nab it. blue dial+snowflake hands+MN76 =FRENCH NAVY ISSUE...getting more and more valuable. this is sort of a grail watch for me...i really want a gen blue dial navy issue.
  5. Stalker! Seriously, though. If you see me, tell me the next day. Don't come up to me, because I'm not nearly as friendly in person, as I am here. As DBR says, we British are reserved. Don't want you to walk away muttering to yourself, sheesh, what a harridan! Or some such.
  6. is that the grove? you know...if you didnt change watches so much i'd prolly be able to pick you out in sb. ill keep lookin at wrists.
  7. these are my utility watches......though the tudor is on suspension till i get a replacement case back o ring
  8. oneseventyseven for me. yes that is my wrist...i am a bot. @V why u zingin me?
  9. saw some examples of seiko's blasted with alumniym oxide at low psi. (on a military watch forum) and they looked great. ao is more abrasive than glass beads so you need to keep the pressure low. you can purchase an inexpensive blast cabinet on e bay and buy the media to do it yourself. i have been wondering if a small "air eraser" would work. the sort you use when airbrushing. @seadweller4000 that sub looks great. i'm gonna get a sterile dial for mine and blast it i have a blaster in my shop.....really really nice.
  10. thats it....thats exactly what i want. soon as the sfso arrives i will start looking for this.
  11. these pix don't do the watch justice...my favorite rep when i can pry it from my wrist out it goes for datewheel and lume
  12. toy watch or blingy technomarine...both are as gay as the day is long.
  13. i am starting to wonder about my 183.....but it looks so good with my tutu.
  14. perfect...i was looking for some blackbird info.
  15. well..i just got out the abacus and did a little figurin. i suppose evidence says i like reps better. cause i have enough invested in my rep collection to have purchased at least a gen sub...or a nice omega and a decent breitling. i imagine many of you are in the same situation. one good rep purchased a month (300 0r so smackers) pretty much equals the monthly payment on a high end gen bought on credit. someday...when all my reps break...and i finally know what gen ill be happy wearing every day.....then i suppose ill go legit edit: after reading this through........ the extent of my sickness hits me like a slap in the face....damn you rwg/rwi
  16. well....for years after leaving the service (where i had to wear a watch as a matter of necessity) i began working in heavy construction. it quickly became evident that wearing watches...and for that matter rings or any sort of entangling jewlery was a very bad idea. some areas i worked in they were outright banned for saftey reasons. so....for around 15 years i went watchless. now that i have a more or less white collar profession i began wearing them again....but i still get a rather disquiting restrictive feeling now ant then from my watch. And ill never be able to wear a ring again. (SORRY LADIES)
  17. thanx for the link....ive been looking for one of the traser models they have. sadly seems like the price on the watch you featured went up $79 semolians now. btw did you see the yellow gen omega speedy they have in the used section?
