  1. Well this should stop this thread ! He, TTK, can help anyone here to get an MBW...so, why the hell should this continue ? But, by the way, original poster, get a VIP please
  2. I wish I could wear this today but I f****d the bracelet So it will be this for monday
  3. Ok, let's go back to the original thread... I don't get it: how the hell is it possible to want to wear an Apple Rolex when there are so many great other Rolex out here Sorry
  4. TeeJay...Sorry to say but you sound greedy to me Do you really expect a 95$ rep to look close to the real thing ? A Sawtch (with genuine ETA) is costing more than that !
  5. Would you say the same about the FER002 ...
  6. My god, MBW is what I'm posting here for weeks now...SEARCH and READ man oh by the way, more important, don't forget to become VIP so you contribute a little bit !
  7. Let's be kind with the winner: ProudAd1998 is probably only 9 years old
  8. Thanks By-Tor. Allow me to say that because of excellent posts you and some other great members are doing, I feel like being the most lucky noob in the world having the chance to buy them all... I wish all rep buyer new this place ! They would avoid to spend some ridiculous amount of money in BestPerfectUltimate Sub Rep @ 1.250 US
  9. Ah Ah,...well, it's not that easy to mod all my babies and it could take months or even more to fulfill my goal . I am not at all able to do it myself so I'm going to have them moded by great members of RWG hopefully. As you know, most of them are overbooked and work hard . As I have a 1680, a SD Great White, a SD Simple Red (and might get a SD Double red soon, not sure yet), let's say I'll have them done in whatever order it is possible. My goal is to have them all look as close as possible to gens...but I'm patient, no rush. It's such a fun hobby anyway . On top of that, I'm still looking to have a great Fiddy Now, if anyone with real skills for moding Rollies that I didn't PM yet read this thread and is willing to help me to fullfill my goal, I say it loud: YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO PM ME Cheers Stephane
  10. Dear All, This is another Rolex MBW that I got from the group buy, the Submariner 1680. Once again, look at this as a Noob Eyecandy more than a review. There have been so many fantastic posts about this watch here that it would be silly to not mention them. You will find some links at the end of my post, but I would recommend to do a search...tons of information are right here, on RWG. I think some members might like to see pictures of the version of this MBW 1680 which is available right now though. This is the only purpose of my post . About the deal Still not adding any comments about this group buy as TTK has his faithful members anyway, aswell as some very bad comments. So, I'm very happy with my deals so far and that's it. About the gen Brand: Rolex Series: Submariner Model No: 1680 Case Material: Stainless Steel Dial Color: Black Bracelet / Strap: Stainless Steel Movement: Automatic Crystal: Plexi Crown: Screw Down Case Back: Solid Water Resistant: 2000m/660ft. Price range: 4.000 $ / 3.000 € for the white one and 5.700 $ / 4.200 € for the red one. The 1680 was introduced in the mid 60s and also introduced cyclops date magnifier to the Submariner line. The 1680 also marked the philosophical transition of the Submariner from a pure "tool watch" built for serious divers to also being built and sold as a luxury sports watch. I say this, because the 1680 was the first reference to be sold in a steel and gold version ("two-tone" or "bi-metal") and also in an 18 carat gold model. (http://www.vintagesubmariner.com/vintagesubs.html) Here is a couple of picture of gens I've stolen from the net. About TTK's MBW It's powered by an Eta 2836-2. I will not comment it as, once again, there are enough information about these MBWs on RWG. No comments are needed anyway as I sincerely think By-Tor cover it all in his review saying: "How good these replica watches are? Are they indistinguishable from the genuine...right out of box? Short answer is no. If you take my "red 1680" for example... almost everything in that watch is a bit wrong, except the exact case dimensions (save the crown protector guards which (at unmodded state) are quite far from the "genuine look"). These watches make excellent base for modifications, because of their rare ability to take genuine parts. But the red 1680 model is still far from "perfect". Actually, there are many other, much cheaper Rolex replicas that look much more accurate "out of box" than MBW 1680. So if you're not willing to invest lots of money on a rep, don't like building and modifying them, I suggest to find cheaper and better alternatives. But if you want a good vintage Rolex replica and are a bit adventurous, there are no serious alternatives." Conclusion One more great purchase from TTK and let the mods begins. I will continue my MBW collection from him as there are no other better way to go ;-) Thanks for reading, and now let's see the pictures. Pictorial Please note that the scratches are due to the fact I wore this watch when moving home a week ago ! Not a big deal as I love scratches and signs of wear on my watches. 11. Dear All, Here is my pictorial of this Rolex GMT Master II MBW that I got from the group buy. I do not intend to make a lot of statements as there are many great GMT II reviews as you all know. But I think some members might like to see pictures of that MBW shooted with less artistic skills than our collectors/dealers . About the deal I already said that I am happy to deal with TTK in my other thread about the 16610…so let's just skip to the next point About the gen Brand: Rolex Series: GMT Master II Model No: 16710 Size: 40 mm Case Material: Stainless Steel Dial Color: Black Bracelet / Strap: Stainless Steel Movement: Automatic Bezel: Bidirectional rotating bezel Crystal: Scratch Resistant Sapphire Crown: Screw Down Case Back: Solid Water Resistant: 100m/330ft. Price range: 4.000 $ / 3.000 for second hand and 5.950 $ / 4.390 New Here is a picture of a gen I've stolen from the net. About TTK's MBW It's powered by an Eta 2836-2 and the hand stack is wrong as the GMT hand is under the hour hand and should be above it. That doesn't really matter too me. Some comments - Dial: I can't spot that many flaws but a main one, which is very disappointing: the lettering of Oyster Perpetual Date doesn't match the Rolex writing and crown. These two last ones are too small. - Hands: this one has the correct GMT hand, longer than regular reps - Case back: can't say anything special - Magnification: seems correct to me - The cyclop position: correct too or maybe slightly too much at the right ? Not sure it's visible and for sure much better than the ones we see for 428$ from Josh in example. - Date font: is ok (closed 6 and 9), not the eta standard one. - Bezel: that is the worst part as it is really hard to turn. It's bidirectional though. Maybe some WD40 will help. - Insert: very good quality and colour compared to a gen but will need a gen at a certain point though. - Crown: it is too tick. As I have a gen one on a bad rep I could swap it someday. It's also sitting to low between the CG - CG: they look ok too me but it's hard to say for me, poor noob, with that big crown . Too be checked after the gen crown is placed. - Bracelet: the side of the links are polished which is accurate, the edges are smooth, the clasp is correct too (small). - Laser crown at six on the crystal: almost invisible. - Rehaut: seems very good - Crystal/Crystal fitting: one of the best one I've seen around. Conclusion Great purchase from TTK. As some might know, I continue my MBW collection from him so stay tuned ;-) Thanks for reading, and now let's see the pictures. Pictorial Links In my search for gen pics, I found this great review of the genuine for French speaking members. HERE
  12. Wow, very very happy end for such a bad start! Congrats man. Cheers Stephane
  13. Not a big surprise: a Rolex MBW. They really seem to be a fantastic base for mods
  14. Oh yes, there is a pattern ! Me neither: no Fedex, Ems, ...I agree 100% for only registered airmail.
  15. Hmmm, 2 weels is ok but 35 days is not at all; that is probably a dropshipping error. If it was a custom error you would already get the letter I presume. You should ask your dealer to send another one to you as the first one is unlikely to arrive unless you are living very very far away from China, like on the moon for example. Sorry
  16. As some seems to have spoken to God lately: pls ask God to bring Fliplockbuckle back to life
  17. My god ! This is the worst scenario possible probably So sorry to hear it. Keep us posted pls. Cheers & good luck Stephane
  18. Do not trust these ems websites...they are so slow. Most of the dealers from CN are dropshipping (they let the factory or somebody else ship for them and never never even see the watch they sold to you). So the watch might aswell not have been shipped yet. It happened to me that I got a tracking number that wasn't even correct and I only discovered it when the watch arrived (after 20 days or so) and the site was still saying "wrong tracking number"... The dealer not even aware that the tracking number was not correct and was saying "try again in a couple of days..." over and over again. Relax...If it seized by customs you will get a letter or a call anyway. So: no call no letter means everything is fine. Cheers Stephane
  19. Hi Randstad, I sincerely hesitated to post a reply but as a Noob, I think my opinion can be published. 1. I agree with some of what you say: old members being in a club using a special language and code is really hard to understand and makes us, noobs, afraid of being flamed when asking questions. 2. I disagree about some other statements: some of the old members/experts/dealers here have allways been very nice we me since the very beginning, which was only 3 months ago. For point 1: - As it has been said above, I try to ignore the bad replies from people to my posts and try to ignore bad threads (it's not easy to resist but it is smart to try). - I have posted several threads about SUBS. Why ? Because I love SUBS. Most of the members never flammed me for that. I guess they might feel like a Dad looking at their son although I'm older than some of the dads. Questionning about subs to me is normal. But it is also normal that 2, 5 or 10 years experienced collectors are fed up about "who has the best sub" ! - Have all my questions been answered ? Nope. I guess some were (and still are) stupid...and I presume I now have most of the answers because I read this forum for hours per day during 3 months, and still do so. For point 2: - Pug, Ubi, By-tor, Kenberg, Admin, Ziggy, Birdman, Phoband, FlavFav, LovePanerai, AjoeSmith, Falco, TTK, PT, Repaustria, Babola, Richard_Uk...and many many more well known members (sorry guys not naming everybody) have allways answered my PMs or posted replies to my threads. - I have bought several watches from members that trusted me althought they don't know me. Now they know and can say I'm honnest. But they couldn't know that prior to try and they did try, thanks guys. - I have access to the best high end reps from our dealers including MBW or TW just as anybody else would. As a noob, I pay the same price as older members. - I have a green light from some of the tech experts to send them my watches for mods or service. CONCLUSION Being a noob here is not easy, it's true. But being a noob anywhere else isn't more easy, is it ? The noob first mission is allways to look, listen, read, understand and try to integrate, isn't it. This place should be looked at as a new job, a new team, not a virtual internet forum. There are some very very nice people here like everywhere else, but there are some ******* A**H**** too. Let's bear in mind that we are nothing else but humans: well educated animals ! Some better than others. As for contribution: I have not enough knowledge yet to publish revolutionary news. All my knowledge comes from this board anyway and is only growing day after day. My only contribution is to shoot tons of pics of the watches I receive with my noob eye and post pictorials of my deals with my noob feelings so that others can have a better opinion of what is out there to buy. My advice to you ? Nothing else than what Ken said: "Stay around, make some friends, buy some Watches, and enjoy the hobby... Forum Life is much like Real Life~" Cheers Stephane
  20. It's not my favourite brand, but yes, why not a Cartier...but it should be 99,99 correct though. Cheers Stephane
  21. Well me too I was thinking about him for a while but didn't want to start such a thread Right now, I'm laughing just thinking about rubber and hammer
