  1. Good points all... but could you point out the differences between the crown guards? I'm still trying to find the differences and thus far they pretty much look the same to me. The L Swiss L is one and only glaring difference that I can see. I'm hoping somebody will rise to the occasion some day and do a macro photo comparison.
  2. LOL. Yeah, the pin is REALLY glaring in that pic. Funny, because normally it doesn't bother me. Should have asked Flave to swap it for me. From your avatar might I assume you're a fan of BJJ? Big PRIDE fan here.
  3. Great minds think alike :-) Panerai need to make a Ducati version IMHO.
  4. Interesting. I'm new to all that glows. So how do they achieve the offwhite or greenish daylight appearance? Mix pigment in with C1?
  5. For me, the sweep is everything. I do have a Quartz Seiko chronograph that more or less sweeps (multiple ticks per second).
  6. My watch is back from the spa and better than ever. Flav relumed my 177H, and exceeded my expectations. Not only is he an excellent craftsman, but his turn-around time was remarkable. The lume glows better than even my Seiko Pro Diver. Flav, thanks again. I hope to post some pics soon.
  7. Once again, thanks the help. Glad I asked because there is lume on the rehaut sub markers. Looks like all markers are C3 and all the hands are a C3-C1 mix.
  8. Here's a bump for some awesome watches. Love that Avenger
  9. Does anybody know if the gen 092 has lume on the rehaut sub markers (the little ticks between the hour markers)? Also, any idea of the color mixes for the markers, sub markers, 12/6 and hands? To my eyes, it looks like C1 on the 12/6 and C3 on the hour markers, and no lume on the rehaut sub markers. Thanks for your thoughts...
  10. Great taste, beautiful collection! Tasty strap on the 187... wish I didn't see that...
  11. Could anyone tell me if the CG for the 111H is supposed to be polished or brushed? I assumed it was polished, but saw a model that looked like the CG was brushed; wasn't sure if that was intentional or an error. Thanks
  12. I'd like to see a wrist shot of that one. :-)
  13. I'd just wear a Casio for sports like that. There are some terrific Pathfinders that have brilliant features like barometric pressure (i.e.: is it going to rain on your parade), elevation, countdown timers, compass, multiple time zones, et al. The latest generation is solar powered. I love my old Pathfinder, but mine is the pre-solar version and it takes something like 5 batteries. I used mine in the military--it's a very durable watch, and despite the abuse it only has little bits and pieces missing here and there. Despite this, all functions work perfectly. Anyway, perfect for a cyclist IMHO.
  14. That looks like mine. I can't figure out which version it is either; I've been told that it is in fact the latest version, but from a different source. Personally, I love it, but the date is hard to see; apart from the movement, that's the only glaring issue I can find. Stay away from that other one--looks like V3 or earlier to my noob eyes...
  15. Sounds like that watch is on its way to a new owner. But if you think it looks like an old man's watch, maybe try the rubber strap? Otherwise, sell it to one of us old men...
  16. I've had a POS bottom-of-the-barrel Sub (you know, the ancient kind with the display back, tinfoil-thin bracelet and wrong EVERYTHING) and it runs better than all of my watches, including my Seiko kinetic professional diver. I'd never wear the thing, but it's been running perfectly for 5 years. So go figure...
  17. Of all the watches in the collection, those two stood out to my eye from all the others. Simply fabulous designs on those two. What a collection!
  18. +1!!! Definitely interested in a datewheel and proper crystal with cyclops if anyone knows where these are available. Thanks so much for this review; somehow just stumbled across it. Very well done, and those pictures are beyond superb. That's some serious photography!
  19. Thanks - I've been to your page numerous times. But I didn't find any clear picture of the date on either... and moreover, I think I'm unsure which one is the new and which is the old! I guess I'm thick...
