Rare! Lab/Italian (stated) greyhound franken. Slightly misaligned, recently serviced (no receipt), some scratches but nothing cape cod won't fix. decent lume. Paypal, gift only.

    PX?

I can PX a couple of hedgehogs, couple of foxes and a cat.

All vertically challenged but VERY easy to catch!

  2. Mike, you could do your own watch shopping channel!

And I'm not talking about how many you buy or own, but you manage to find so many really nice watches that I've never seen before.

I vota that Mike does a "Moab Watch Selection of the Week!" post, with the top 5 watches you've found that week, it'd certainly be interesting reading for me!

  3. Have no idea what a Mk III fattie is but it sounds like the hole for the pearl was a fraction too small, or the pearl a fraction too big.

At a guess I'd say if you can remove it without any more damage and either shring the diameter of the pearl or increase the diamater of the hole, it should fit back on and close the split up by itself, you'd just need a tiny bit of glue to prevent the insert liftinng if a piece of clothing catches the snapped edge.

  4. Here's the sales thread

    http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=75703

To be honest I woud not have touched the seller or the watch with a bargepole, the seller is pretending to be completely clueless to avoid explaining the problems and from the photos the rotor screw has marks on it from multiple removal and refitting, what look like scratches on the shock mount and it doesn't look brilliantly clean to me either.

Lets hope MoaB can persuade the mods there to see sense and act fairly over this sale.

  5. Everybody should bear in mind that the search function is rather broken, this is known about and plans are in place but as far as I understand on the current forum platform the search function is just pants.

It is good enough for this purpose, but trying to search for a particular post by a particular person is very hit and miss.

  6. Jesus, $50 for that lot is just an insult.

It's simply "not as described" and 007 should take it back without arguing, and the mods there should slap him with a temporary trading ban for selling this in this manner.

Do you have a link to the sales post?

Has it been mentioned in any other post that you know of over there?

  7. He is genuine...

And he does have good stuff. Just be prepared to ship it back a few times until he realises you are not stupid, and he cannot fob you off with inferior quality products.

    Apart from that, he's alright .... :)

Life's a [censored], then you marry one!

Not my definition of "good"! If he's got substandard dials why not list them as such and sell at slight reductions, honesty == good.

Although I know we have a very limited range of people who deal in these things to buy from.

  8. I picked my 2007 model up for £1700 on EBay (drove over to the sellers house to buy it obviously) - a good deal as it's worth £2k all day long.

Lovely watches, if you find one that's a bit beaten up use that as a tool to get the price right down and then send it directly to Breitling for a full service which includes dismantling it completely, refinishing all parts to as new (case, bezel, bracelet, crown, clasp), new battery, water resistance test and I also belive if you get that service done it's then guaranteed for 12 months. Costs £300 IIRC.

  9. Yes. Our watches are taken apart and each piece is inspected then cleaned or replaced. Then it's meticulously oiled and reassembled. That's what a service is.

Haha, if any rep watchsmith was as dedicated as that and had a shop like that they'd need to charge $3k a service to survive.

As great as our watchsmiths are, they cannot hope to approach that kind of level when charging $100 a service (unless they're working someplace like that in the day time and have a set of keys to the factory and go back at weekends / nights to work on reps)

Saying that, the improvement they make to any untouched rep movement is huge, just the beginning and ending points are in rather different ballparks!

  10. NOOB and BK are factories that assemble the parts into the watches, they are not the only ones, the ZF is a new upcoming factory.

MBW - don't know - post a link to the thread where you saw it.

George - a blokes name - post a link to the thread where you saw it.

AD = Active (or Actual or Genuine) Dealer - for example a Rolex or Tag McLaren dealer.

There are loads of others, you will learn them all over time.

Now, go and read the TDs forums, become a VIP, don't forget to not ask WHTBS and have a play in the CB!

    :)

  11. Fancied having the Bronzo brushed last night so spent less than 30 mins and here she is again, what a flexible watch, so many looks and finishes, she's a must have.

    AJ

I wonder what it would look like if you let her build up a very distinctive patena and then a very, very light DLC coating?

So it would be DLC but the patina would show though in the hues of black :)

Might not be possible, might look crap, definitely curious though :)

  12. Fraggle if going Sinn get the teg! Getting a Sinn without teg ,well what's the point.

    :)

Found this one here for £1672.79 all in, but I've never heard of the company, Page and Cooper? AJ have you heard of these guys? Anyone?

There are a lot on Chrono24 but the description is in German and my German is not good enough to figure out if they include tea or not (they all have it on the bezel)

Well I've just sold two cars so have readies floating round, it'd be rude not too :)
