  2. You can clip the feet and use dial dots or hypo cement on a ndt or yuki dial Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I haven't done it before, but I know others have. I'm doing a 5513 so the DW isn't an issue. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I'm building a cartel with a yuki dial in the next few. If you are using a cartel dial, the date window isn't beveled it is rounded off. Not a huge deal but to me it is a detail I don't like on the cartel dials. My 2c. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Really like it! Wasn't aware people could drill and match up from the outside. That opens up some nice options. Great work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Wow...those pics look horrible once I uploaded them...sorry.
  7. The DW coronet is extremely flat and "open" mouthed, so a swap is in order. I found this dj dial in my watch box and I am pondering if it is worth swapping it. To me it looks better, but I am not expert. So, what is your opinion on swapping the coronet from the dj dial to the daytona? Experts?
  8. I agree with Freddy on this. It's your watch and if you love it awesome...enjoy it. The completely beat up look seems quite off to me. I most often see this with pams and they are so beat up, as if to look as if they were at the bottom of the ocean. And it does look fake. I recently bleached an insert and went way to far, it looks cool but does not reflect a typical vintage watch. But nonetheless wear it in good health.
  9. I picked it up from DW, you can PM him. Just got it today. It will need some work, take out auto gears, waterproof, gen crown, better crystal. Bracelet has a horrible buckle.
  10. Ended up grabbing a DW 7750, to see how I like it....thanks for the advice...it's gonna take me a while to do an v72.
  11. Maybe I should take it really really seriously. Thank u for correcting me...I will think about it all day.
  12. I think it may be wise to piece together an a7750 DW, but remove the rotor as to eliminate the rotor noise. I am partial to the black dial and I prefer the metal bezel so it's nice to hear that these seem more accurate. I also like the all black dial with pump pushers. But then again after reading about the Peruvian build....then a gold daytona would be amazing.... I have a gen 1603 and really do love the size. My Pam 111 rep was sold and now I'm thinking my BP subC may go. They just seem too big. And I love the profile of the vintage oyster cases. Rolex really got it right back then. The full on chunky watch trend has been around for a while, wonder how much longer... I'll keep you all updated with my build.
  13. Man...you guys are freaking amazing. More info on daytonas in the last hour than from 3 months of research!
  14. I've spent some time on other forums and they are right, you guys know your vintage daytonas! I appreciate all the guidance.
  15. Total budget we be up to $2500 I think. Which I know isn't the top, but pretty healthy I think.
  16. Yea seriously! I just sent him a message to see if this was a typo.
  17. I messaged Dw earlier in the wee but he gave me a price near $4k for the complete watch...so I was obviously shocked. That is too rich for my blood. I thought his stuff was around $400...
  18. I want to put together a vintage daytona piece by piece. Been having a tough time finding an asymmetrical case for a v72 other than the super high end(phong) that is available. I have an email into yuki, but haven't seen any info on prices. DW was a bust on price. Any advice would be appreciated, since watching "time machines" on YouTube I've been dreaming of the profile view of vintage daytonas.
  19. Welcome to the forums awltoga :)
