I would not be entirely sure. The OEM straps are heavily overpriced (as, of course, just about everything from AP ), and the "Hornback Exclusive" from Jacob seem to be at least similar to the OEM. Plus, you can chose whatever color and stitching you want, which obviously is a plus.
At least I am going to give him a try.
A little late, but as I am actually doing some research for a ROO Diver strap and came across this post, this is most possibly the best one can get. Thank you very much for sharing, just asked Jacob to make one for me.
This is exactly the one I found by myself, thx again for pointing me to Jacob, the straps seem to be of superior quality, plus he is pretty responsive, and I am already about to place an order.
Great, thx. I already had a look at Jacob's site but could not find any Hublot straps - will ask him and Koon as well for those though.
As for ABP... yes, they are really expensive.
Yes, I am aware of Eric aka Donerix, but afaik there are other makers as well, I just was not able to find them even though I did search the forum.
Any suggestions where to look? Banda e.g. does not list Hublot straps any more.
Thank you in advance.
PMJI, but as I just came across this watch and would like to get a (hornback) leather strap could anyone pls just give me a quick hint if all the ROO watches uses the same type of straps, i.e. the fit is the same so they are interchangeable? Many thanks in advance and sorry for the off-topic.
You're right, the rep strap is pretty much crappy. However, if you still have the chance, get yourself an original rubber strap from Hublot, even though it is anything but cheap. I had a close look at the hamiltonleatherworks-straps but they did not really make my want them: Seams as well as edges give an impression of a pretty rough look, not as classy as I would expect it for an HBB. OTOH if you are fine with that look you may of course be happy with them.
There are very few strap makers out there making HBB straps afaik. If you like what they do, you're fine. However, the OEM straps are of that much higher quality chances are you end up (like me) purchasing the original. As hansmeier already mentioned, the Hublot rubber strap is the smoothest thing you'll ever have around your wrist.
The straps look rather good indeed. However, I would very much like to see the backside of them, as well the strap itself as mounted to the watch, would that be possible?
