Awesome watch sir and looks perfect with that strap. Good to learn a little of the provenence of vintage destros - surely they must have been created at one point in the past probably at the request of some Palombari ? Thanks for sharing FGD

Thanks very much gents ...I humbled by all your kind words! It all started on RWG for me and I've only learnt what I know today through people and information this forum makes available to you. I'm continually inspired by the "vibe" here and couldn't have even considered these dials without help from friends made on RWG. It's home for me. All the best FGD

Looks Awesome - superb specs and finish all round on that piece!! Great Collection too!! Cheers FGD -
Cheers Ross - couldn't have done any of this without your generosity and assistance! It is one of your back plates - I actually just sprayed it white and then wiped with a sponge in grey tinted paint. I've yet to lume it - keeping that little upgrade for another rainy day!! ATB Simon

fishgodeep replied to BigCrown's topic in The Panerai Area
Great work BC- a great patina on the case and crystal - might just do something similar one day! Cheers FGD -
Last from me for tonight Ross's range of dials provides so many options so with his assistance ( a beautifully prepared LP base dial) - I swapped out the brown Marina Miltare dial and went for the classic black Also picked up one of TC straps "treasure Island" straps which V worked over to soften and age + sew in my GPF Mod Dep buckle. Both steps have transformed the watch for me and it's seeing mucho wrist time!!! Thanks Ross once again (and V for sorting the strap!!) Cheers FGD PS - I've worked out how to set my preferences in photobucket so pics aren't 3 foot wide!!!

It's been a while since I posted some pictures but as it's been holiday weekend and I nice day - I managed to snap some shots of recent updates to the collection - by recent the last 5/6 months! (Boy time truly does fly when you're having fun)! The PAM 004B - is my favourite PVD franken - ETA , Gen dial and hands , Jimmy case set and Crystal , T-48 Crown and Roll's ublime PVD and CG work which I love. This is mounted on an MP PAV 98 with OEM B series PVD buckle. The recent update being the gen dial and hands installation PAM 61C - this again is my favourite Ti franken - ETA ,gen dial, hands and crown - old skool Ti case set , sapphire with DSN case back and CG. The updates are the dial and hands (thanks to a couple of esteemed members ) and re-working a DSN CG to fit the case. After seeing V's Gen 118 in the flesh - something had to be done about the rep Ti CG on this - most of them I've ever owned are terrible compared to their steel counterparts. DSN's does require a lot of work to add the correct curvature and thickness to the top section and enlarging the screw holes to fit regular rep CG screws. I'm pleased with the results for now though!!! This is mounted on a HKTan antique gator with OEM Ti buckle. Thanks for looking and enjoy the pics FGD

Good Evening All!! I'm posting this for a couple of reasons : 1- I've updated my own collection with the newest 201/A , 202/A and Pre-A 002 dials 2- I wanted to show everyone who has ordered these dials what they will be receiving (if not already!!) Some 201/A and 002 were shipped last week but the 202/A didn't arrive until Saturday morning so everyone else who's waiting for dials from me - they'l be in the post tomorrow and I'll send tracking details as soon as I have them!! The 202/A and some of the Pre-A 002 are in a slightly darker coffee shade - you can see the contrast especially against the white dial text- I hope you like. The Pre-A 002 here is going up for sale as well soon - but needs a little more work first - there's a mark above the last hyphen in T-Swiss-T and I'm not happy with the CG - right shape and size but looks a bit too rough so needs re-finishing. Anyway - thanks for looking and for everyone who's supported me in these projects Enjoy FGD

FGD 201a, All the bells and whistles! Kudos to Simon
fishgodeep replied to tanya's topic in The Panerai Area
Dude - thanks for all the kind words - honestly it's out of the love of these watches so this is a real joy to see- it does look excellent and whatever you do don't touch that case!! There's a couple of options on the CG 1- Risky but less so than sanding or filing the base IMHO- gently pinch the CG in a hobby vice fitted with some leather or rubber pads as to not damage the edges of the CG. The idea is to get the angle of the CG to meet the angle of the case - I think your's looks only a degree or so out so the key is VERY VERY gently and repeatedly check the fit - I'd suggest 1/8 turns of the vice handle at a time. If you over do it you can change the shape of the inside edge or knock the lever fitment out. 2- Keep the V for some other case and get a Little Hero CG for <$200 - these are IMHO better suited for a Pre-V model and solved the fitment issue on my 201/A perfectly ! Thanks for sharing the photos !!! Simon FGD
