"Watchdog" is out, "The Zigmeister" is in...
fishgodeep replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
That's better, anything beginning with Z is fitting as you are the last "word" in watch services on this board... In fact how about just "Z" !! Cheers FGD -
Quick check against the handful of images I have - on first impressions not bad at all - bar the dial , CG crown- but it's a good chunk of metal to start having some fun with!! I'd be keen to see the detail on the back as well Still a bit too big for my skinny wrists though! FGD

Looks reallllly sweet!!!. Enjoy the journey!! S

I second that Mr WD ...it's a ridiculously good first watch - I think I broke 3 or 4 before I could get to this stage. Right on the re-lume front - the green is scary and WatchDog is your man for that sort of work...period! There's no good tobacco brown dial out there at the moment but one day soon ...you never know Have fun along the way.. FGD

More beauties Pre-V ....a complete fest of Firenze's finest!!! I hope you feel satiated now? Seriously though - thanks for your support and everybody else's. It does give me great satisfaction to see the finished results in watches that people are pleased with....that was the desired aim It all started about 18 months ago when PAMMan threw down a gauntlet after Davidsen's latest release was a disappointment for many. I took up the challenge "to make our own dial" and had loads of support and inspiration from members here, plus an ENORMOUS amount of support from one esteemed member in particular I can only hope that more people get the "bug" (as I did from here!!) and start making more and better parts for the community, we could even get to the point where we don't need rep dealers offering watches that need $100's of worth of mods done to them! Better and more accurate casebacks for PAM's has got to be a goer - we just need to find a source for good quality "blanks" like the 001- B1176/3000 or the early A series auto casebacks - the engraving element is well within our collective abilities!! Cheers FGD

How sweet they look !!! You tease us with the minimum of photos that hint if much more eye candy to come!!! Bring it on!! FGD -
Find these parts and then you can start to take it to the next stage Good rep PAM 111 Steel case with a Sapphire Crystal- suggest you look in the collectors section for a PAM 111 or 112 watch- ETA or Asian movement is up to you - some good watches come up for sale on the "member trading section" T-48 Steel (or PVD) crown - contact member T or search his posts for details on these crowns Crown Guard -Try finding Little Hero on RepGeek he has some correct looking CG's available - or search the trading section here for a V CG FGD 202/A Dial - you'll need to find one of those second hand as there's none left - again check the trading section Caseback - best option is one from Davidsenjpn - search the "accessories" section of this board Davidsen also sells this model of watch ready made or each individual part including the dial which is very good - just different to this one. Finishing touches - search on ebay for 400042776369 and buy a set. If you can source all of these then you can go to the next stage Hope this helps FGD

That 201/A look really good now , scarily accurate in your photos!! Love the 202/A as well - you made me reach to my watch box and pop mine on!! Mine is yet to get the WD treatment but soon I hope! Rest assured I feel the "Pre-vendome venom" in my veins Cheers FGD

Great piece - excellently modded and looks spot on with that strap combo! Enjoy and thanks for sharing FGD

Good to hear from you again V ...was wondering if this was another of those long trips in Greece or something else ...like maybe you won the lottery and was travelling the globe looking at 202/A 's and 201/A's!! Sorry to hear about your son, that's kids for you though - always a source of pride , pleasure and worry!! I'll drop you a mail later ATB FGD

WOW indeed ....I've only ever seen all three dials together in my own watch box ....much respect to you Pre-V as my best customer by far!! The watches look fantastic builds as well - I prefer the thinner indices on the 2nd Gen dials but having said that - the 009 looks absolutely beatiful in stealth black with that strap combo! The 201/A on a shark is the all time classic - another superb combo!! Thanks once again for support and congratulations on 3 beautiful watches. Next I want to finish the Pre-V / Pre-A set with 5218 203/A , 205/A 218/A and Pre-A 001 - the only issue is I don't know how many of each to make - there's not a lot of people out there who want to have the complete set and I doubt there'd be more than 10 people interested in 205/A , 203/A or even 218/A...?? Pre-A 001 is a little easier - with this fitting 001/004 and PAM 40 I think it would be a lot more versatile!! Cheers FGD

A beast from the deep .....very very impressive work!! Thanks FGD
-
Great build TK - rare as rocking horse doo those H gen dials - and if you plan to build the whole thing from gen parts then Kudos to you ....it's a labour of love not about the money otherwise you'd just go and buy a gen!! Cheers FGD
-
I think it's great - I like the nice detail on the caseback I'd expect this could be repped with the right parts and a bit of know how ...eh Rolli Thanks for sharing FGD
-
Three of the very best !!! Great watches and I'm on the same page - gens are nice but just really take cash to own, frankens take effort, patience and a bit of passion! Thanks for sharing! FGD

[REQ] frontside pics of an Asian Unitas 6497 to fix a crown
fishgodeep replied to docdoc's topic in The Panerai Area
Hi ...it's the setting lever that has flew off - this is a relatively simple fix without having to strip down the whole keyless works. The ETA.ch/swisslab link is really useful guide If the screw is stripped however you'll need a replacement Good luck FGD -
