  1. Pics didn't work on the last post. Trying again. This is one of Phong's Phinest Phauxs.
  2. Look at the N and H comparison. For me it was no contest. The watch feels genuine in every way. It even winds the same. (Try a gen, you'll see what I mean.) forget the pig logo. It loos great. There are less than 1000 gen, so don't worry about someone thinking the texture is off MAYBE a little. It's a $9k watch. Spend the extra $100.
  3. Someone has asked for detailed pics of the case, so here they are. I have a 6265 bezel on now, waiting for a 6263 that I should have this week. (No, not the nicked one on eBay.)
  4. More than likely, it's a combination of me not understanding how hard I can push on them, and not wanting to blow $3k on an education in what NOT to do.
  5. Yeah, I'm shipping it off to Mike on Monday. Let him deal with the finer points of proper assembly! I'm learning what I'm good at, and what I'm not. With practice, I'll get better. I just don't want to experiment on high-dollar stuff.
  6. So close... The sub hands are giving me a fit...and I'm one screw short to mount the movement in the case. This just wasn't meant to be today!
  7. Success! Key: Front load case
  8. Nope...not out the front either. I pulled the crystal. I'm also having a doosey of a time trying to get the hands off. I have the sweeper/second hand off, but it almost feels like I'd break the thing if I pulled any harder on the minute hand to remove it. ...and the movement won't come out the front either. Any ideas?
  9. Yeah, I'm in "pass" mode....
  10. Great watch. I've enjoyed the Gen for years, and am waiting patiently for a G-Series rep to be released so I can A/B them. Wear it in good health.
  11. Sorry Mike. Just 2 boys...6 and 4. I'm actually quite perplexed by this watch. I'm trying to take the movement out and I can't find a way to do it. I've removed the two case screws, and poked around under a few of the springs to no avail.
  12. Sidenote: Would any of you pay $500 for this bezel ---> eBay Item: 130915645595 There's a nick in the corner, and I'm wondering if it looks worse in the pics than it would be in real life?
  13. Using the term "Rep" is too good for 100% of the "non-genuine" clubs I've seen. "Fake" or "Knockoff" are more fitting. I've spent a lot if time in the golf industry, and seen hundreds of fake clubs. The difference between rep watches and fake clubs is significant. The QC isn't there. The manufacturing process may make the product LOOK like the real club, but the materials are often wrong and that makes a big difference. If you want to save a buck, buy a set if used clubs from a local course (or country club) Heres a pic of the club making room in My Dad's basement. He does a lot of the work for many of the country clubs in the area.
  14. I've taken risks with high-dollar putters in the past. Picked up a few great 3-4k putters for 200. I guess if you take enough risks, the rewards make up for it.
  15. I've bought a dozen watches from them over the last few years, so she knows me...and that I have a lot of gens. No way shed call me out, but I normally wouldn't be that brazen. This rep is just that good.
  16. I bought the wrong screw kit, so I'm still short on those too!
  17. I wore mine (N) to a dealer in Atlanta last week. The saleslady mentioned that the ones with the pig were only available in Europe, and there were 1000. She was quite knowledgable...and loved mine. If she couldn't tell (and side-by-side with the Gen, it really is hard) than I'd say that's worth an extra $100. ...just my .02
  18. I bought a bunch of movements and pieces parts. I think the total was $6k, so it wasn't too far off. I also thought I bought something I didn't.
  19. I need to figure out a way to properly fade them like that. I'd really like mine to not be so "bright".
  20. I was looking something else up, and ran across this auction. eBay Item 321103895396 Here's a case where a guy took his watch to an uneducated watchmaker...who told him it'd be worth about $4,000. The bezel looks like a Mk1, and the straight second hand supports it. Looks like the lume fell out of the orange hand, and it had a bracelet that was "badly worn" so he didn't include it in the pictures. For $4K, someone got one HELL of a good deal!
  21. It was only ~$700. So I think I did alright. I'm going to pull the movement and see if it does fit the dial I have coming. Could be very cool indeed. Honestly, if I can get it cleaned up and presentable, I'm all over flipping it!
  22. They didn't say. Honestly, if that's all they change, I'm fine with this one.
