  1. Now: Reminder to order HANDS next time! Anyone got a set for a gen movement (1560) they can FedEX me? :-)
  2. That's about the same as mine. Although I have separate controls over the left wheel, and the two on the right. I'm considering selling mine. I may go to something bigger, so if anyone in the US want's mine, I'll be listing it later today.
  3. The interface on TAT2 is awful. Also, not being able to hide the stickies anymore was rude. It was taken away in the last update, so I've been using 1.0 until they fix it.
  4. Great progress! I'm waiting for a few sans-Russian. ;-)
  5. I second this part: There's skeptics on all sides, and everyone is worried about being scammed. I had people tell me that it was suspicious that I would offer to pay for the watch at asking price, and cover shipping. (I have a UPS account with an absurd discount.) One guy even refunded my money, and said "Nice try scammer!" I also catch/release quite a bit, so I get the "I don't understand why you're selling so quickly after buying it." Everyone has different budgets...timelines...expectations...etc.
  6. I ordered and paid in Mid-April and am still waiting. I got a email a few days ago saying that mine would be shipping in a few weeks.
  7. That's the truck though. The good stuff is always expensive. Still less $ than a genuine 1016!
  8. They're headed to Cleveland. :-) I'll wait a few weeks to install. I'm also trying to buy the other hand. Just as a backup..and maybe a project.
  9. Good point Mike. I'm bit jumping out there to do it, but I'm saying there may be an interesting way to get it all done.
  10. Turns out, I had a VRF account from 2009! I reached out to both to see if everything was still available. 390 isn't bad...
  11. Here's where I landed. These are just the right cuts, and I'll sand/plain/route tomorrow. (I still need to paint the wall and add the lights too.)
  12. I believe the 1560 and 1570 are the same size. This doesn't have a DW and will be used on a 1016 (or space dweller) build. The DW was just extra parts I'd pull off anyway.
  13. Which one is VRF? If someone has an account there, I'd gladly pay 400€ to have a set of hands that were right. My goal is to be as close to genuine as possible.
  14. Yeah, the hands is where it's at for me. I'm going to keep hunting for something a little nicer. In also waiting on a better dial that can tie this in. Right now...it sits on my wrist and looks pretty bad-ass. That's good enough for now.
  15. I picked this up for the 1560 movement, and thought the case was stainless. (Bad lighting in the pic made it look yellow.) turns out it has a butterfly rotor, and the patina on the Second hand is sweet. Turns out, I bought a pretty nice 1014. I'm puzzled by the gold though. It only appears on the front of the case. The back is stainless. (Like a shell?) I'm looking to use the movement in one of 2-3 other builds I'm working on (mainly a 1016) but the case is real purdy. The part that creeps me out is the serial starts with 666. (Not all that religious, but I am superstitious.)
  16. Yeah, that's glued, sits under pressure for several days, then they plane it down. Then treat it...sand it...treat it some more. It all depends on how deep you want to go with it. I'm doing counter-depth because I have a smaller area. I'm also not doing this for a living. (And I have a number of other hobbies that need the space!) I also find that the more desk pace, the more crap that makes its way ON to the desk! (Read: clutter) I'm hoping to get it worked out this weekend. I have time, am in-town, and have a [censored]-ton of tools on their way!
  17. I'm having an issue with the chronograph functions. Not Mike's fault at all...could be when I was monkeying around with the movement before I sent it to him. Here's what's going on... I wound the watch, and started it...then after 90sec, it completely stopped. Stopped the chrono...smacked it (lightly) and then reset it, but the sec hand went to 54sec. I started....waited 15sec...stopped. Reset...the hand went to 5sec. I let it sit for a bit, and finally it reset at 60sec, but I'm afraid to use it as a chromo. Chrono power wheel?
  18. Thanks to MD2020 for getting this spin back to me before the weekend! Slapped the gen bracelet on...and we're in business. I'm going to replace the dial and hands soon, and the bezel gets swapped out with the correct black bezel next week...but I've got a good looking wrist for today.
  19. Solid sucks. It'll warp over time unless you're buying a $3k piece of wood. I'm going to have $115 into this one.
  20. I got the idea from MD2020, as I was going to just built a normal table. I started sketching, and came up with this design for my watch workbench. This is only ever going to be a hobby for me, but having great tools, lighting, and environment is very important to me. Plus, it's fun to build stuff. I plan on adding padded armrests in the "dips" but that'll come after I shape the table. This is just the starting point. I already have a maple 8'x2' butcher-block, and this will only be 5' wide.
  21. I have the big-brother to that one. I need to pull it apart and oil the motor. I also put it on the "4th" setting. 2h clockwise, 2h counter-clockwise. Wait 8h. Repeat.
