I think it was more a scammer than anything. A BIN that low was what set my radar on.

Got this yesterday, and thought I'd post some pics for you all to drool over see. Kuvarsit PAM 312-O. I made a different strap for it, as I thought it needed to look a little gnarlier than the one it came with. Overall, the watch is outstanding. I've had a gen 312 in the past, and it very much has the same feel. There are obvious differences when you look at the movement side-by-side with a gen, but I'd hazard a guess that won't happen too often.

Just like this 1655 that was VERY under-priced Item #140982455042

Does that movement have the right holes (mounts?) I'm also bidding on the 726 that's on eBay right now. Ultimately, in going to end up building two, so this won't be my last rodeo.

What's an appropriate amount to pay for a donor? $1500? More? I don't want to over-bid on something if I don't have to. Like this one : http://bit.ly/12WVoMd

Please let me know when you're in production. I'm good for 1-2

Nicely done. I made my first strap this morning. Not even close to this nice.

I really appreciate all the great info guys. What I meant by "better than others" was the holes that some have. So the hunt begins...

Has anyone built a comprehensive list of good donor watches for a v72 Daytona build? I know there are a ton of watches that used it, and that some are better than others.

Pat them here if you can. I'm very ingested in a better 1016 case than the one I have. I need something that will hold a gen crystal.
-
I hope one of those is on its way to Cleveland :-)

This is exactly my next build. I just need to figure out a movement and get the ball rolling.

We're getting close to the "end of May." What do you all think the Over/Under is that they'll ship soon?

Outstanding work! Great pattern, craftsmanship, and color. Looks amazing. I just received a bunch of leather working tools yesterday. I aspire to do the same thing soon. -
It's nice enough, and fits the movement, but I'm told there are differences from a genuine case. I'm going to do a bit more research and take pics to determine for myself.

Just a little something special...*warning - pic heavy!*

Looking good Nik! Mine's going to be a "white" twin! Where'd you get the crystal caseback? -
How can provide parts for AP ROO Franken?

I should have said "Wheel" instead of "gear". Domi said "Please make sure you have the hour and minute wheel with the movement" -
Yeah. Not a bargain at all. I've got to start looking at gen cases to see if I need to mod mine (Phong) at all before I put everything together. Anyone have before/after pics on what they did to Phong's to make it more like Gen?
-
Nevermind...I figured it out. I hadn't aligned the movement properly to the tube, so it wasn't centered. All good now!

I have a franken 1655 that I replaced the tube/crown on last night. (Gen 1570 movement, Phong case) After putting everything back together, I am unable to get the stem back in to a position that I can wind the watch, and that it will run. (Like it's stuck on "2nd click.) If I have the movement out of the case, all is fine. The crown/tube appear to be the same size, but it's almost like the stem isn't long enough now? I don't want to crank the tube in too much further, and I'm not sure that it'd make much of a difference. My question is: Could my stem be too short, or is my tube not in far enough? I can't see any threads on it, but I'm sure if I needed to, I could get it in another .3mm or so.

I was just looking at everything tonight. The hands are a hold-up, but I've heard that there are a couple of gears that I need too. -
The Tona is a fun one. I think I'll have a lot if fun with it. I'm already looking at a second one. All great watches, but I don't know that I'm going to keep either of the Pans. O-well. That's the game. Right?

Ever have one of those days where a lot of things arrived at once? I had 4 watches, a case, dial, and 2 straps arrive today. My 1655 back from a hand-swap. 16520 case back from Phong. (Looks great) GMT-II I bought PAM 88 and 29 that I picked up ...on a day I left the house without a watch.

Got all my stuff together. Just waiting on the movement to show up! ...I've got to give that bezel a once-over too!
